Hi guys,
I recently bought a 6 GB Sandisk microSDHC to try to get it working. Unless the right driver or hardware is hacked in some way it won't work. On my device it won't work and maybe it will never work for cards over 4 GB.
What I noticed is that the bootloader can't be accessed correctly when having a 6GB microSDHC card in the memory slot. I haven't ever read anything how the bootloader works, I guess it writes to the SD card and then back to flash memory or whatever.
I tried flashing different ROMs to try out SDHC funtions. So if you want to flash ROMs I guess you need a working card in your slot
Cheers!

XDA trion card memory 4G.............?
HTC Hermes memory
I'm personally running a 4GB microSDHC from SanDisk. I've read where some people are running up to 8 GB, but I think it makes a difference which ROM you have loaded.
Being a PDA owner since Windows CE and clamshells, I've found that as long as you stick with name brands of memory cards, sticks, etc. you should be fine.
I hope this helps!
My OS is T-Mobile WM6 german and works fine with 6GB microSDHC from SanDisk
Most cooked wm6/6.1 roms should run with the sdhc cards. This is one of the reasons we flash our phones....
My understanding is that any microsd card over 2 gig (I've never seen one over 2 gig that isn't) is a SHDC card. SDHC support requires WM6 and the driver for the card reader that supports SHDC.
As far as I know, every WM6 ROM available, cooked or otherwise, has the newer driver.

The stock WM5 ROM will not support SDHC cards. I do believe that there is a program floating around that will allow WM5 to recognize SDHC cards. I have the stock WM6 from HTC/ATT & my 4G SDHC works without any problems. The only problem that I ran into is that my card read for my laptop will not recognize the card. There shouldn't be any issues with the 6G or 8G cards either.
Is there any plugin or patch to get my XDA Trion read this storage card. at the moment it only reads it as 2GB when i have 4GB, can anyone advice? pleasssee!

What version of WM is on the phone?
WM5 can't read SHDC, WM6 has a patch available (most, if not all, cooked ROMs already have it), and 6.1 ships with it already integrated.
Another possibility is that you ended up with a counterfeit card, or the card has been partitioned and once the 2 gig partition is formatted.
Have you tried the card in anything else, say, a normal computer?
Im using WM6, and yes i have tried the card and it reads 4GB, i dont really know much about roms to be perfectly honest with you. I did unlock the phone though. so if theres a patch, would you be able to tell me? please
If you are using an official ROM from HTC (WM 6.0) then you need no patch. microSDHC cards work out of the box.
I also use an 8 GByte microSDHC from SanDisk without any problems in my TyTN (official HTC ROM, WM6.0)
Some chinese MP3 players do have a file on them that reports it as larger than it really is. Formatting doesn't seem to help. This was a problem I know of that ebay stomped on a few months ago. I wonder if the file could be hard encoded as a rom on an sd card. Price of a 2gb card is a lot less (from the retail side) than a 4gb or 8gb card, and you can make 2 cards for almost the price of 1....
hmm ic, well heres mine, it does say WM 6.0 Professional, Rom version 3.54.201.1. and seriously i havent done anything to this fone, i dont even know anything about roms, but it says that the total storage card memory: 1942.78MB even tho i got 4GB. im at a loss...
can some one please tell me step wise from where and how can i install sdhc drivers into my gene p3400 currently running original wm5 factory rom......
thanks in advance....
If you install wm6 rom (the official one) or any custom rom you'll have the sdhc drivers.
hi
thx for replying...
but cant i use those drivers in my wm5 rom...
and also tell me waht are these sdhc cards....
are they the same micro sd 4 gb cards or something different....
These drivers are for you can use SDHC (SDHC are cards with high capacity and speed) cards with gene. If your card is not SDHC then you not need it. btw I think in General section you'll find it.
SDHC stands for Secure Digital High Capacity cards. Cards >= 4 GB storage come in this format. MicroSD cannot support that much storage. SDHC cards are also available in both MicroSD form factor (small card) as well as the SD form factor (full size card). To use these cards a driver file called OMAP850_SDHC.dll is needed to be in your phone, plus some registry settings.
Better way to get it is to use a WM 6.1 ROM, official or cutom, as per your choice. Otherwise, you'll have to search for these as i dont know about that. My P3400i came with WM 6 so never needed these.
Good luck!
Hello. I have a problem regarding my vizibility of the sd card on the device. I used to manage it on HTC touch HD, and now, I want to use it on Diamond 2. But it is not recognized by Diamond 2. I've format it quick, low (longer), fat, fat32, ntfs, but without succes. I've installed 3 different ROM's, but still nothing. On the PC is working without any problems. It is an 4GB microSD HC card
you mean your TD2 can't even detect the microSD when you go to File Explorer?
yes. i cannot see at all the microsd on my device. only on the PC.
and i've tried also 2 different microSD cards: 1gb, and 2gb (Nokia this one) and is working with those one. I've tried my microSD card on a Nokia and htc p3300 and is working.

I presume the roms were not loaded via the microSD, then? Do you see the microSD cards via ActiveSync?
nop, not at all. I cannot see the microSD in any other way (not even microsoft active center - Windows 7). But, those 2 microSD (1, 2gb) i can see. And yes, i didn't install the ROM from the microSD.
solve it by replacing it with a 2gb sd card.
the memory card is not me out with the official wm 6.5 ROM
what can I do to boot the card??
ah no problem of card because started the card with the adapter to the PC and read it perfectly.
I have D2 and the card is the Kingston with 4Gb....
I can help my problem??
Hello,
My problem is solve, I changed the card....
At last I found people with the same BIG problem of mine!!! I NEVER succeded in using ANY (nor cooked nor official) WM6.5 version and I am getting quite desperate So, it appears that 4GB Kingston SD is not "WM6.5 compatible"..I tried also Sandisk 2GB SD with the same miserable result...Lucky me!!
If it solves the issue, I am prone to buy a new SD card, but how does it have to be to work correctly?? what specs, what size is supported, is there a recommended brand?
My forum search led me to a closed thread and here, is this the only "SD and WM6.5 problem" related thread?

Strange, because I have the same memory cards, Kingston 4 GB, and I never had any problems. Currently I have WM6.5 official and works well.
You tried to format it?

Thanks for feedback!! Yes I formatted it in all possible ways, with PC adapter and within the device . As I feared, there is not a general rule to determine wether a SD card will work with WM6.5 or not and I am not rich enough to buy SD cards until one woks
I've heard it has something to do with the country in which the card was made. China was OK and Korea wasn't, or somthing like that. Don't really know whether that's correct though.
thanks, going to check that, ANY SUGGESTION IS WELCOME !!
What is the class of your memory card? Mine is class 4
I think it's a class 4, but if you tell me how to be sure I'll check better. Maybe using a diagnostics software?
EDIT:I just took the SD card out, I can read "SDC4/4GB"...maybe C4 stands for category 4..Again, help much appreciated!
From Topaz I don't know if you can see the class. It is in the packaging.
what's your actual ROM?
ITA WM 6.5 Original
ah ok, already tried that without success..and that was when I got disppointed the most
