I have created and replaced the 3 screens that you see when booting up the O2 Xda Orbit phone.
1, was the O2 splash screen
2, was the animated welcome screen
3, was the windows mobile screen.
now replaced with cool looking startup screens.
i used splashtool (included) to flash the 1st screen, then using activesync i replaced the animated.gif and the welcomehead.96.png in the windows folder then did a soft reset and all works great.

Hi,
I'm using PK2.0 BlackTouch ROM (WM6) and would like to try and find the "smartdialer" I used to use on a version WM6 I used on my HTC Universal.
The one I like, when you start typing in a name from the today screen, launches a screen that looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Instead of this one:
Any tips on where I can find the 1st one?
I think PK uses Real VGA. In the real vga settings there is a checkbox for Disable Phone Skin. Just check that box. You may have to SOFT reset.
Oh that worked perfect, thanks!!
I decided to create a more stylistic simple splash screen for me and also read in another thread that someone wanted the original green WM6.1 Splash in black.
Additionally I found a Vista Splash that I wanted to include in this thread.
Just copy them onto your device and set it as Startup Splash Screen with the newest version of Advanced config.
Second method is to rename it to welcomehead.192.png and copy it into the windows directory with Total Commander or similar, overwriting the original one.
Have fun!

the black wm splash screen suits the diamond so much better.....thanks for that
Hello
I have tried to install the old htc home on my diamond, but I can't find a properly working cab.
The best I found on this forum is the file htchome2.cab, here's a screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see it's not well adapted, and the screen is not as responsive as TF3D.
So sorry if it was already asked, I couldn't find an answer, but is there a diamond-optimized version?
what about telling us howto change the icon of start menu
Yeah, see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437307
Install the sdkcerts.cab from the first post, then install the cab from the last post of this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437307&page=11
You will have the coloured icons too, and there's also a thread to change the windows logo only in this forum
Hi everyone! I've just tried to change my phone's splash screen with this tutorial here from glassof but I've got a problem, look at the picture and you'll understand...

I tried everything: disable HTC signature, building nbh directly for nbimg with "nbimg.exe -F mifile.bmp -D PB7410000", but I always have those kinds of glitchs :/ If someone could give me a splash screen nbh working or convert mine (see the attachement)..... Thanks in advance
[EDIT] I unpacked my splash.nb with nbimg and .... here is what i got:
So it means it got a problem white packing the bmp file :/
Hi everybody
I had this question
Why do we have windows logo on the system hard disk and can't put any icon on other hard disks?!
So I have worked and added icons for each hard disk like this
You can send your desired icon and i will send back the whole modified hard disk icon

Some time ago I published here at XDA an utility which allows you to create from given icon (tile) set(s) a 32-bit resource DLL useable with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.x

It's about the creation of the icons not the method of changing it my friend
