Camera not working

I have a T-Mobile Compact 2 where all the camera activities are not working. It has been unlocked (successfully). I thought it might be s/w and downloaded the latest ROM from T-Mobile which updated me to v3 but did not improve situation (don't know whether upgrade includes camera s/w). The problem shows itself whenever a camera action is selected (either by camera button or by selecting camera in programs) - all that happens is that MS disc spins for 1 sec to show program is loading then vanishes - and that's it!. Can anyone help or tell me how to see whether it is s/w or h/w problem. Thanks

It worked great for 2 weeks but today i faced the problem that the camera lost his settings and that it auto closes when its open exept in panorama mod. Also same problem I am facing in browser opens Google and facebook but when i search in google it closes. Hard reset isn't helping

Hi ! when I try to use the camera, my Optimus quit this app or show a black screen. So now I can't make any photos. I try to reset to default configuration and then I change the rom but the problem is still present.
I call Italian LG support and they say that I have to send my phone to assistance.... any ideas please?
Maybe I have a solution for camera...
I fully discharge the battery for all night. Then, I charge the phone and the camera now works

the quicker solution to the camera problem is: remove the battery for a few seconds
Got a new Note 4 SM-N910C after I replaced my old, as it had display issues (same model). Old and new phone are running 5.0.1., both are rooted. I restored all apps and data from the old phone on the new via Titanium-Backup.
When I open the carema app, or ANY other camera app on the new phone, it won't focus for approximateli 10-15 seconds - afterwards autofocus works snappy and accurately. When I close the camera app and reopen it, sometimes the autofocus reacts immediately, sometimes I have to wait again. After a longer period in which i did not use the camera, the initial lag always occurs.
Same issue when I use the test mode (#0# - Mega cam). In compairison the old model always works perfectly!
Resetting the camera app does not fix the issue. "Shaking" the phone does not fix the issue.
Does anyone know that issue, does anyone hab a suggestion how to solve the problem. I don't know whether this is a hardware (stuck af-motor??) or a software problem.

Are you on the stock ROM now?
Yes, everythin is stock.. just rooted via CF autoroot..
Did you have this problem before you rooted the device?

It's a hardware problem, the camera lens abit loose. Some tried shaking it but only a temporary fix. Bring it to Samsung Service Centre for repair (if still have warranty). Mine had that problem and was fixed by Samsung.
Update:
I restored the device's factory settings, i.e. Recovery - Full Wipe, and flashed the Lollipop 5.0.1. stock rom via Odin. I did not not restore the camera app usting Titanium Backup.
The error still exists. Shaking the device causes no improvement at all and there are no strange noises during focusing detectable. I suspect that it is therefore definitely not a hardware failure.
.. Once again the error description:
If I do not use the camera for some minutes and open any camera app (e.g. native app, instagram, PS-express, whatsapp, Google Kamera, camera pro and also in the test mode (# 0 # - Mega Cam)) the picture is totally blurry and the focus seems to stay in the macro focus. When I try to set the focus point by touching the screen, the focus indicator appears but the focus does not change for approximately 10 seconds (again, in all camera modes and camera apps). After this "initial lag" the camera works perfectly fine. When I close my camera and open it after a short time, it focuses immediately. When I close my camera and open it after a longer time, initial lag occurs again.
This is extremely annoying.
I suspect that the system deactivates the camera ("deep sleep") so when opening the camera a full "initialization" (i.e. error checking, etc.??) is done every time. According to the Application Manager however, the camera app is active and uses the system's Ram when the lag occurs!
Can anyone - under 5.0.1. - confirm this behavior?
Again, I am very grateful for any kind of help and suggestions!
How difficult is replacing the camera? Is it simple?
I tried to update my G7 L03 Wind Canada to CM12.1 and CM13 both with no success
CM12.1 update works but:
- Video camera crash
- Impossible to end a call (message is "hanging up..." forever - need power cycle)
CM13 update don't work:
- bootloop
Anyone has been able to successfully update G7 L03 Canada Wind?

Hey y'all, I got the G6 yesterday and had a camera related question. This is a brand new device, fully updated, and when I go to open the camera, a message pops up saying "Camera Error: Camera Unavailable." Does anyone know how I can fix this?
This seems like an app error because the camera works well on Facebook and Snapchat.

I already did that and I get the same error. I find this odd.
I was wrong. Both Snapchat and Facebook switch between the single and dual lense back cameras. They do not switch to the front camera.

I have the same issue with my LG G6. Have you fixed yours?
I got a new one, only way to fix it.
Im having the same issue after a screen replacement. The people who replaced the screen even boight a new front camera and replaced it with no luck. Also, the screenshot button for the bottom bar is conpletely missing which i find very odd.
That error seems to be the camera unpluged
I mean the phone is made of connections between hardware and the camera is not connected , its an hardware problem that is fixed by open the phone and plug jt in

The only explanation i can think is that there is hardware problem with 1 of the 2 camera. And maybe with the wide one. And maybe that's why it is not working with stock app. Maybe other camera apps don't require both camera's (normal and wide lens) to be working.

Flash Nougat better known as Android 7, and upgrade to 8 or 9
Everything works fine on this phone until few days ago. When I open the camera, the app responses which means it still response to mode changing and focusing but the viewer black out. I usually use the stock camera but I did test on other applications that uses camera, it just not working and pop a message to tell me reboot. The camera can work after reboot, but never know when will it fail again.
Hope someone knowing the main issue causing the camera not working.
I'm having the same issue, but it's only the rear camera. After I restart the phone it functions without any error. But after some time same issue occurs. Does anyone knows a solution.
