Has anybody on any of the networks got the HD working with any of the mobile tv packages that networks offer?
just wondering if the HD is compatible with mobile tv.
if so, does it work well and is it worth getting?
Well, its just a program, so if you can find it and install it(google ) then you could test it. I haven't heard of anyone really using it on the Blackstone since it comes with youtube.
yes
TV works on my Blackstone (around 25 channels + VOD)
Network: SFR (France Vodafone)
well, it's nice to have it but i consider it more as a gadget as we can do more interesting things with the device than watching tv!
and since the quality isn't so good (video resolution something around 160*120, sound mp3 16kbits) i can't really enjoy the experience. Waiting for HD TV!
so... YES it's compatible and YES it works well but..
Diamond TV works just fine.
how exactly does this tv work? do i need internet-connection or what is it like?

Yes, you need an internet connection.
Works also with Orange FR.
Sad point for you, it's a service from the operator, that links through a streaming link the video information to your device.
In GPRS it's crap size, but if you are connected to HSDPA, you got almost full size with really good quality
is it just available from the operator? or is it also possible to watch tv with wifi?
I have mobile tv on the divice, I stream from Tdc in Danmark. This is how it works for me.
I turn on the Internet explore, and punch in the address. When I click on live-tv, my streaming medie in programs opens. Its poor quality on the divice, but for watching news on work, its great.
Take a look at this site.

If your in the UK then BBCiPlayer works.
thanks for the replys, now i know the HD is compatible i'll be buying the phone soon
its mainly sky sports that i wanted for when i get bored at work, also i'l look into the diamond tv app.
does BBC iplayer work on 3g yet or is it jus wifi?
sky sports
I want it for sky sports too and for that you have to subscribe with orange tv through the correct channels. Its supposed to be £5 for sky sports 1,2,3 etc. The link i navigated too on my phone is below
http://orangeworld.co.uk/w/15034/?sid=a542aa0f0d6c
But when i try and subscribe this is the message i get.
Unfortunately due to a technical issue, mobile TV from Orange is currently not available on your Sony Ericsson phone which is an early software version. To upgrade your handset software to the latest version, please visit the Sony Ericsson website on your PC at http://www.sonyericsson.com and select the 'Sony Ericsson Update Service' in the Product Support section - here you will be guided through the update process. Before upgrading your phone's software, please make sure you back up any files stored on it.
If you are unable to upgrade your handset this way, please contact Orange customer services by calling 150 on your Orange phone and quoting 'Orange TV Error Code: A1b5'. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
If you already have a mobile TV subscription and wish to cancel this, you can do this by clicking the 'cancel subscription' link on your mobile TV homepage (select Your TV account).
When i get a chance i'll email orange but i kinda know the answer already. Orange TV is not set up for touch HD yet.
Try DiamondTV
I use my Sling Box! works great!
I have the sky sports and news package on the touch HD working, in coreplayer. My one is from T-mobile uk, £5 a month and you get all the sky sports channels live! The quality isn't that great but thats because of the bitrate of the stream and not some limitation of the Touch HD. I sling as well which is much better quality but you will have to pay for the data transfer. the sky mobile tv is £5 a month without any extra data charges.
Hi
mobile TV works great for me:
operator: Bouygues Telecom (Fench)
unlimited data plan included
For what I know, it consists in rtsp flows, accessible via the Streaming application available on the HD , "media en continu" in French. The best way is to access those flows via the operator's dedicated portal (where you can click on links that look like rtsp://something/name of the channnel/ )
My internet-provider [ziggo] has a number of streams of live television. This works only when connected to their network. I find myself using these on my laptop on a regular base. Perfect quality! [1200 kbs]
Shouldn't it be possible for me to watch these streams on my HD in the same quality? Right now the stream isn't fluent; sound is but the video isn't.
Is the quality of the stream too high? [1200 kbs] Is WMPlayer not the best player to play these streams?

HD can play back vids of upto 1.2 Mbps.. so either depends on ur connection or some setting of HD....check them out..im sure they'll work.
Hulu may be blocking mobile devices, but ESPN3 certainly isn't.
On your home PC, go to espn3.com. Create an ESPN account, and sync it with your PC for "remote access".
Then, on your android 2.2 enable Vibrant, go to espn3.com and watch streaming flash video of live basketball, football, soccer, rugby, etc...
Oh, and if you can't find the game you want there, don't forget to go to ATDHE.net to stream live TV and sports to your Flash-enabled Vibrant.
Have fun!
How do ...
sync it with your PC for "remote access"
Sorry, I'm not too familiar with espn3. THX
Hi,
I'm looking to create a tv live streaming app and I need some guidance about the server needed and libraries codes to start.
Thanks!
are you going to start your own streaming server or only a streaming client?
I've develop my own tv streaming app and use Vitamio library.

Please any help for streaming to youtube from a nvidia shield android tv,I don't want to use twitch they seem to be bias towards twitch at nvidia,so guessing there's money involved here and they are not allowing apps to run as far as I can tell this is the case but may be getting it wrong? Tried Gusher it has a youtube option,it states on a youtube video it works but when i try it says live not enabled,it points me to a link to enable it via youtube,in your account profile or settings page, but this is stating live is enabled? But I create a live broadcast in youtube and once I publish it it states offline,I then srtp details method in Gusher and the same message pops up again enable live streaming got no clue how to ammend it or how to work around this, contacted google and nvidia google put me over to nvidia, nvidia fobbed me off stating the shield is using twitch so use twitch,we don't support youtube streaming??? They suck at this.Personally I'd tell them if I was president of google,I'd say look nvidia you use our android tv os but won't allow the live streaming in favor of twitch streaming either enable it or loose your rights to the os to use it on shield tv!I'd also say what no love for youtube streaming on the shield tv but you have a partner ship with an alternative live streaming provider instead of the live streaming provider of your os that's a bit of a poke in the eye.
UPDATE
Found an app that enables youtube live from within android tv os and that is this app BitStream https://play.google.com/store/apps/...roid&pcampaignid=APPU_1_Pz9_V_-nIciZgAa6l4Io%
1.88 gbp price 1080p max varied resolutions other than 1080p and no ads at that cost,it's awesome,1 flaw though the mic setting when enabled keeps the sound and microphone going all the time, you mute the mic though and it mutes the game stream sound as well.Just thought it might help those who can't enable live streaming option from the youtube site when using the shield android tv console
(I looked for this but search seems to be busted)
Anyone know the situation with getting live TV on the Shield? I bought one to replace the Android TV function of my POS Philips 4K TV, which is so full of bugs as to be unusable and no fix coming from Philips. So far everything is great - fast, remote works all the time, stable - but no TV. I'd like to get my channels working with Live Channels because of the superior UI and the ability to record in the future. Don't want to use kodi or any other third-party TV apps.
I set up a dvblogic server on my NAS and using their beta dvblogic Live app am able to see the guide and switch channels in Live Channels but it doesn't correctly identify language tracks and subtitles don't work at all, and dvblogic have announced that they are abandoning the app's development to concentrate on their own fugly, proprietary app.
I saw that someone has released a hacked kernel with support for USB tuners, though it's for making Kodi work; in theory from what I've read about live channels it ought to just sort of work with supported tuners. Has anyone tried this?
Aside from the hacked kernel are there any other options? I have both DVB-T and IPTV available to me, and while I'd prefer IPTV I'll take whatever I can get. I was sort of hoping that when I connected the Shield to my router it would just find the IPTV channels and put them in the guide. Silly me.
Why dont you just IPTV Pro, there is a free version on Google Play Store. Im using it and its works perfectly with no problems...
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I think the best solution with a NAS is :
- tvheadend server on the NAS with a tuner
- tvheadend client on the shield : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ie.macinnes.tvheadend
But if you have IPTV, it's the easiest solution
You can use Cumulus TV to add m3u8 files in Android Live Channels : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.felkertech.n.cumulustv
Hauppauge
hi
I am trying to get my usb Hauppauge DVB-T2 working on my NVIDIA shield. I have been looking how to do this for several days and cant find any answers that work for me.
I have installed HDHomerun so i can see the live channels app. I also have a VPN and have set it to the USA. I dont want to pay plex.
If anyone can give me a step by step on how to get this working would be great?
Do you want to watch live TV on your phone? It turns out that you have a wide range of options to choose from, with the majority of them being reasonably priced. We looked at a variety of live TV apps, going over listings and other people's recommendations before trying them out and selecting the ones we thought were good enough to recommend.
