Both G3 and G4 are types of DOC (DiskOnChip) flash memories. These behave similar to harddisks, i.e. have partition tables and file systems.
so g4 devices have flashdik to??
i only see on forum g3 with flashdisk

I think at 99%, the LG G4 -> F520 because optimus g : f180, g pro : f240, g2 : f320, g pro 2 : f350, g3 : f400, g3 cat6 : f460 and for the f490 "i supposed LG Odin"
For each family of LG, we change number. I conclude that the LG G4 will f5**
If you have the .kdz of f520, can you sent me.
The firmware supposed is " Internal test KDZ---LG F520L KDZ Firmware F520L08A_00.kdz" and for the F490 " Internal test KDZ---LG F490L KDZ Firmware F490L_liger_CS_112_0623_00.kdz "

LG F520 is not lG G4, It is a mid-range handset with Snapdraon 400 CPU
@asia : I can not find the model you quote
I don't think it is but assuming the F520 is indeed the LG G4, how on earth do you think any one of us can have the G4 .kdz file when LG isn't even making any announcement on the LG G4 device yet?
Hi,
today i wrote an news article about how to unlock the LG G4 (H815) with an official LG Tool on my german blog. (Only in german sorry).

View attachment 3346461
But then i read about that the LG Flex 2 got the 5.1.1 update here at xda in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/q-5-1-1-update-t3116107
As you can see there is also the new "Enable OEM unlock" in the developer options. So i think it would be possible that we got this options on the G3 with the update 5.1.1 too.
What do you think?

Hopefully we do, Instead of bumping all the time saves developers alot of time and maybe LG will support AOSP like sony?
When you read the LG web page it fills you in on the procedure - your phone must be listed there in order for it all to work. So far only G4 Int'l is listed. I would't be hitting refresh until it changes - my feeling is that the OEMs and Cell Providers have a lot of "old" stock to move out first.
i don't think [emoji19]

What version of them the Moto G4 Plus do you have? I mean, XT1642, XT1643, XT1644 (there are different versions). Furthermore there's only one leaked soak test update file, which is eligible for several versions of G4 and G4 Plus, but not all of them!
Send with my Moto G4 Plus (XT1642) on Android 7.0 using Tapatalk!

Why don't you download the other file (that is for your Moto g4 plus) and flash that using stock recovery?
Sorry for the noob question but what is the difference between "potter" and "xt1687?" I searched but couldn't find anything conclusive about differences between potter, xt1685, xt1686, xt1687, xt1688, etc.
I just got an xt1687 from Amazon but it seems all the ROMs are for the "potter" variation. I'm trying to figure out what differences are so I can tell which ROMs will work or not work for my device.
Thanks for any help.
If you'd look at about phone in settings, you'd see your model number. Potter is the codename that was used by Lenovo for the Moto G5 plus. XT1687 is the official model number for the Moto G5 plus. Its the same phone.

So are all variants (xt1685, xt1686, xt1687, etc.) considered "potter?" Any ROM listed for use with potter will work regardless of RAM and storage sizes?

Yes, 'potter' is the device name for all Moto G5 Plus variants, for the "regular" Moto G5 it's 'cedric' and so on. Some issues do pop up for certain variants based on differences like having NFC/compass or not, but are usually minor and/or fixable.
