Camera Version? / Hack

Ive been looking on here and im trying to find the software version for the camera that switches it to lanscape mode when a photo is taken but i cant find it anywhere, is it v.2.70 or something similar?
I did use one hack but it sent my today screen mental so had to do a Hard Reset for the device to work properly again

its Ver 2.7 (build 20117). what i have is the modified version by Ampda (thanks btw Ampda) which includes the speckle reduction.

i tried that but it made my today screen go mad. although that was when i was running the older rom so it may be ok now ive upgraded to the latest one?
could do with him in here really to answer my question lol

Guys, speckle reduction is a registry patch.
I don't get what the difference is in the camera versions: if you want landscape, why not just rotate before starting the camera?
I posted camera.exe from my Magician in the VJlumos thread. Not sure if it's old or new, but it's what I've got..

Because there is some software so that when you press the camera button it automatically switches to landscape mode, lets you take the pics and then when you exit it, it switches back to how it was previously!

What program is that?

I use this .cab file that i have found in this forum.. Using this, camera start in landscape mode and it doesn't create any error...

The cab file work correctly on qtek s 100 rom 1.12...ita?Wat's the advantages?

Just installed it and it made the same error but ive found how to over come it! Install a different theme and then install the theme you were using before and it works fine!

Yes the tricks it's to change the theme with another...
Per Linux:
I vantaggi sono i seguenti:
- all'avvio di camera lo shermo diventa in landscape, quindi molto piu' bello da vedere (e ti sembrera' ti tenere una macchina fotografica digitale in mano..)
- i files (foto e video) vengono salvati non piu' in cartelle giornaliere riportanti la dati, ma direttamente nelle rispettive cartelle /My picture e /My video presenti o nella RAM o nella scheda di memoria (a seconda di dove hai deciso di salvare le tue cose..).. Volendo agendo sul registro si puo' fare in modo che salvi i files in altre cartelle che vuoi tu.
- cosa importante, finalmente le foto vengono salvate in formati del tipo 640*480 e non 480*640 (anche se nel menu' di configurazione ci sono ancora quest'ultimi valori). Questo permette di spedire mms con foto grandi e non con dei moncherini..

No no ci sono controindicazioni, anche io uso la tua stessa ROM.. Qualche miglioramento c'è, ma per raggiungere il massimo installa questo file che va ad agire su qualche parametro di registro.. (in pratica toglie il fastidioso effetto neve e rende il tutto un po' piu' luminoso..).
PS: i files che ho postato non sono di mia produzione ma gli ho trovati su questo forum, e quindi sono il frutto di menti lodevoli di altre persone..

Please.. i installed this new camera.. all works but when i use wisbar+wad and i start camera.. the camera application automatically minimize itself!
I am thinking it's the landscape mode so.. how can i restore just the portrait setting for this new camera app installed?

I'm using this version of the camera app because it came with the T-Mob 1.13 ROM I'm currently using. What I found is that although I see speckles in the "view finder" when taking pics in low light conditions, the picture will not have any speckles when saved. A major improvement in quality I think.

Camera V3 on Dopod 818 Pro
I had a preview of the Dopod 818 Pro at a shop. The Camera Version is V3 & it is much better quality compared the current version posted by ampda. Not discreditying ampda but It may be because of the new 2Mb camera that cause the improvement.
Hopefully, there's Dopod 818 Pro owner who is kind enough to extract that camera software & the ablum and post here for us to try.

What's the method for uninstall the patch?

There is no way to uninstall this so-called "patch". IMHO it is crap! Only hard reset may help. the feature with theme-changing fix helps, but you must do it after each soft reset!
And there is no way to force to work apps from other devices, like wizard etc.

How about deleting the camera.exe in Windows folder. Windows will automatically recover the file from the ROM of your device.

Registry cleaner and a program to use the 9090 al usb card

I have 3 questions please:
1- is there a free registry cleaner, and memory cleaner for wm6?, because i have installed a lot of cab and when i disinstalled them the memory don decrease a lot, now i have 16mega free on total 60 mega...
wich is the cab that you MUST install on helmi wm6 (as pach and very important cab)?
2- is there a free program to use the phon as a usb card to connect it to a computer that doesn't have active synk on it? like card export II, but this isn't it freeware.
3- someone are increasing the helmi wm6 with the ITALIAN LANGUAGE, please?

Searching in forum
however, for hardware keyboard you must have installed a registry editor (like PHM Registry, it's freeware) and set:
"Layout" to dword:00020410
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty
(or use .reg file in attached zip to do it).
instead, for word completion you must install attached cab

cosa hai installato oltre alla rom di Helmi? perchè per me molti cab sono inutili, quali sono le pathc e i cab essenziali? xchè la memoria da 60 mega è discesa a 16 come niente dopo aver installato i cab di helmi e xplood..

I've installed all cabs from helmi and xplode plus some patch and fixes found on forum. I've only 12mb free, but I think that 12mb is good.
Important fixes (for me) are:
-all cabs in addon dir in rom rar file
-all sound ad BT fixes
-all MMS stuff
-Blocktransfersize registry hack for wmp
-ITA Hardware keyboard
-Italian Settings.cab for word completation
However I prefer to install all cabs from helmi and xplode and install others programs on SD.

The fatal sync!

Hi everyone! Sorry for my english... here's my problem:
Once upon a time MS outlook lives happy in my computer with all my contacts.
After i need to format my pc....: i'm going to resyncronize my p3600 and ActiveSync finds the relation (named "pc windows") with the old OS: i think... i can remove it... the "pc windows" windows doesn't exist anymore, why should i need it?
Next step... syncronized!! Wow.. very speedy... yes because there is no more a contact!!!
500 numbers gone!!!! They went away with old relation "Pc windows"!!!
Maybe it's my fault... but who could ever think all that?
Also all "before fatal syncronization" logs from \windows\activesync are not present.. Is there an Holy man who knows a way to take contacts back??? Help!

Succede che ho formattato il pc...: vado a risincronizzare il palmare e ActiveSync mi trova la relazione che il Trinity ha col vecchio OS "pc windows" : io penso... la elimino.... tanto non esiste piu windows del "pc windows" vecchio, che me ne fò?

well it happens when the sync parameters are set to replace what is on the device with what's on the PC and since you had nothing on PC it erased everything. the only way to get contacts back is if you saved the outlook.pst file before pc format. if not you're doomes...sorry and hi to Italy ;-)

I'm sure that parameters were set to combine elements between pc and pda... but anyway you're right, i also think i'm doomed that's life

[REQ]Problem with ROM 1.66.408.1(ITA) :Opera can't save on microSD

I've noticed that in ROM 1.66.408.1 (ITA) i am not able to download on microSD whith Opera....
idea and suggestion are welcome....

I have same problem. I think the problem is that when I download a files Opera will save it on his cache (Windows\Opera\download) then it will save it on '\Scheda di memor' and it should be '\Scheda di memoria' to save correctly on MicroSD.
I guess it's a 15 chars limit. What's greek word for memory card?

Step-by-step instructions
Since this is a language-specific problem (local language translation of memory card exceeding the 15 chars limit) I will post this in English as well as in Italian.
I tested this on my HD2 running stock ROM 1.66.408.1 (76641) ITA.
Please be aware that Registry modifications are at your own risk and that I cannot accept any responsibility.
a) Use a Registry Editor to search all registry entries that contain whatever "memory card" is in your language. I used CeRegistryEditor (google it as one word and official site will be first hit) as follows:
- Edit > Search > where it says "search for" write memory card in your language (I put scheda di memoria)
- check all boxes under "Search in" (Key Names, Value Names, Value Data)
- search within: entire registry
- Start Search
b) As a result you will get all registry entries pointing at the memory card. Edit each one replacing "memory card" in your language with something 15 chars or less (I used SD_Card)
c) Take note of each key you are changing - just in case you make a mistake you can track back your steps.
d) Once you are finished, do a soft reset (CeRegistryEditor can do that for you or use the red button under the HD2 hood or any other way).
e) Test Opera downloading, camera, and whatever other app you have pointing to the SD card.
For reference, here are the registry entries I changed:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\File Explorer\StorageCardPath
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\PCMCIA\Folder

Le indicazioni che seguono sono state testate sul mio HD2 con ROM originale1.66.408.1 (76641) ITA.
Ricordate che le modifiche al Registro sono a vostro rischio e pericolo e che non posso assumermi alcuna responsabilità per quello che fanno le vostre manine.

b) Come risultato otterrete tutte le chiavi di registro che puntano alla scheda di memoria. Modificatele una ad una sostituendo Scheda di memoria con un nome lungo max 15 caratteri (io ho usato SD_Card ma SchedaDiMemoria senza spazi va bene lo stesso)
c) Prendete nota di tutte le chiavi di registro che cambiate - in caso facciate un errore (es. di battitura) potete ritrovare la strada e mettere a posto l'errore.
d) Una volta terminato, fate un soft reset (CeRegistryEditor ha un pulsante apposta, oppure usate il bottone rosso sul retro dell'HD2 oppure uno dei tanti sw che ci sono su XDA).
e) Testate il download di Opera, la foto/cine camera, e tutte le altre applicazioni che usano la scheda SD.
Per reference, qui di seguito le chiavi di registro che ho modificato io:

little guide:
1.hardreset your phone
2.install the opera fix
3.install all your favorite applications
(Note:if you install it without having done an hardreset,all the applications intalled on sdcard won't work)

I had not found that thread in my research - maybe because it was about a totally different subject. (Btw, the link provided by Fab985 is now broken).
Anyway, a hard reset sounds like a bit of an overkill to me
Much faster editing a few reg keys - isn't it?

Opera 10 works like a charm with Micro SD...

I add: if You don't want to stay one hour to change a lot of links, please unload resco photo manager, do the modifies and then reload it.

HTC error impossible to install the CAB file.

Ciao a tutti sono nuovo nel forum e devo dire che seguendovi ho risolto molte cose , da poco o comprato L HTC shift x9500 perchè mi piacciono gli UMPC solo che quasi tutti i link non sono più attivi del resto ormai è quasi passato di moda.
Provando la procedura per liberare SnapVUE quando vado a cliccare il file link mi da '' impossibile installare il file CAB, potreste aiutarmi? grazie a tutti in anticipo.

grazie... ma sono riuscito a risolvere seguendo la guida di [email protected].
non so perchè non mi fa aprire i file cab per mancanza di permessi ma installando RegistryEditor.exe e cancellando i vari file sn riuscito a ottenere i permessi e liberarare wm6. Rimane il fatto che anche salvando i file cab in wm6 non li avvia ..! speriamo di trovare una soluzione.
