Alarm Clock for my O2 XDA II Mini - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hello,
Playing around with the standard alarm clock on my PPC has led me to run late for several important meetings. From what I think what has happened is that i have set the alarm clock and it has not gone off. For some strange reason it doesnt go off when you want it but goes off when your in the middle of a phone call after the set time ! As an example, if i get a call 3 hours later, thats when it goes off.
Anyway, trying to turn the alarm off in the middle of a phone call is another nightmare. I have to put up with it until i soft reset the device.
So....out it goes !
In their wisdom, does anyone have any alternatives to the standard alarm clock ? I don't really want it to do anything fancy. Just go off when it is supposed to, have some better alarm tones, and maybe have a snooze feature for those times i want to get another 5 minutes sleep lol.

try using spb time... you can also use an mp3 as alarm tone

try the MortPlayer...

Repeating alarms: How does built-in "repeat" work?

Under Sounds & Notifications, when one selects "Reminders", there is a tick box called "Repeat".
Presumably this means that when an alarm sounds, it should repeat until dismissed. Mine only plays once. Am I missing something?

Hi there,
Mine's a XDA Exec, and it does repeat although it pauses for about a second or two first. Not nearly loud or persistent enough to be a really decent alarm clock though!
OK, so it seems that aeAlarmPlus is the way to go - looks for an alarm and then comes up afterwards to do a repeating/escalating thing of it's own. Works well.
hi there
ok if u talking about alarms then go to clocks & alamrs --- go to alarm tab then set the time whet ever u want to set then click on the "BELL" icon
there is the option to make it repeat and even u can chose the sound

Yeah, I am using it too.
My problem is that I cant kill the alarm. It gets repeating and I am getting more and more mad. Or is this on purpose ? as I have to wake up and tick the box of with the stylus....
Anybody has the same problem?

Playing with alarms may have been the reason why my calendar was not able any more to remind me.
When soft resetting even alarms of all kind made me mad.
I hard reset (horrible job with a lot of work to do) solved my problem, but I do not touch the alarm any more.
Hope your problem is different

i have the same problem. It goes off every time and repeats for a couple of times and I dont see any option to close/kill it.. good thing I still have te sense not to bang it against the wall like an alarm clock.
i guess if the built in alarm function is not working or it goes crazy, just use any other free alarm application. i know theres a lot of free application out there.

Alarm Clock on Wizard 8125

Hi people,
For example, when I click the screen to shut it off, it only comes backs with a reminder ring but not the normal alarm ring to wake me up. I have slept in a few times because the snooze function does not work normally.
I want a program or info on how to get it where I can touch the screen and have it automatically alarm 10 minutes later without having to go in the menu and have a specific snooze time.
Thanks guys,
JW

Try AlarmX from MTUX.com. This has a nice interface and a snooze feature. Also the alarm sounds it has are very loud.
alarm/notification problem solution
This is caused by the sddaemon process that causes the notification queue to duplicate itself everytime the phone is turned off and back on. The program smartskey addresses this problem by going to the ini file in it you can enable sddaemon to 1 that fixes this problem, then use a program like notification clear to clear out the old duplicates.

Alarm Clock

Just upgraded to the M3100 from C600 and am liking it, however as with all smartphones I have had the built in alarm is pretty useless and I end up switching it off with out realising (I am a heavy sleeper).
I got an application for the C600 called Gentimer which has a nice feature called "Sleepyhead" that requires you to enter a 6 digit random code to actually turn the alarm off, you can snooze without the code but it is required to turn the alarm off.
This isn't fully compatible with the M3100, therefore I was wondering if there are any other alarms with similar functionality that will be of great use to me...
Help please, Monday morning coming up and won't wanna get up...
Thanks
Mark
Try PocketAlarm. It has a lot of features to wake up anybody.
Does this PocketAlarm have the ability to have to enter a code to switch off the alarm.
Any other recommendations for good alarms?
Thanks

I really wouldnt rely on the alarm clock on the tytn. mine is very sporadic. the problem is there is a bug in the M$ code that makes the "waking up the phone" part, not work.
I heard of a product called "CityTime Alarms". anyone had an experience of this?
Thanks
Mark

yes, that works just as well as all the other alarms and non of them do very well at waking the phone up from standby.

What do you mean? Is not 100% fiable any software alarm other than integrated in WM5?
mdavenport, I like Chronos. In addition to the usual alarms, it has a chime every hour (or fraction) that sounds like... my old Casio watch!!
Thanks for the info...
One ongoing problem I find with the alarms on phones is mainly down to me but can be helped by the software. Basically I always seem to hit the dimiss button and turn the alarm off and then over sleep..
Does Chronos have a big snooze button and small dismiss to help avoid this..
Thanks
Mark
Pocket Wake up has a slightly larger snooze button
Im still struggling to find one I get on with. I am using SPB Time but it seems a little bit overkill for what I want.
Basically, I want one that allows multiple alarms, mp3 tones and a more difficult way to dismiss the alarm so I don't accidentally dismiss all my alarms...
Anymore suggestions...
Mark

Alarm clock, why does it go off after 10 minutes??

I dont remember this happening pre-cupcake. I am a heavy sleeper, sometimes dont even hit the snooze, just let the alarm ring and ring until I get my butt up. Since upgrading to 1.52, the alarm goes off after 10 minutes. It displays red text stating "Alarm automatically shut off after 10 minutes". WTF? There isnt a setting to change this.
Anyone know a way to change this or possible another alarm program (that’s better)?
Klaxon alarm works great, been using it since the free version and i love it. since you use a JF rom the paid version will still work fine if you don't happen to have a free version on your comp

Help with alarm (or reccomend me a new alarm app)

I am currently using HTC's default alarm app, but I'm finding the alarm tone won't repeat and it will only ring out once, for say 3-4 seconds, and none of the tones seem to be any longer.
This is an issue for a heavy sleeper like me as I can often sleep though this and I'm partial to the odd snooze so there might 3 or 4 chances for me to do this! .
Anyone found a way to keep the alarm ringing out (repeating) till I turn it off. I'm using Dutty's ROM so I I'm not sure whether this is just a quirk of his ROM or just a crap alarm from HTC.
Help or reccomendations of good alarm apps welcome!
its not the rom, its the crappy alarm from windows mobile.. really useless imo.
i use the app G-Alarm that works great
(link)
the main thing i have found since using 6.5.x build roms is that the repeat problem no longer occurs. It repeats until you stop it.
One suggestion i can offer is to forget about setting up the alarms through the htc alarms tab, do them direct into settings - menu - all settings - clocks and alarms.
you will find 1 - there are more alarm sounds available, (which tells me the HTC alarms tab isn't working exactly the same as the system one)
and
2 - the HTC alarms tab will copy what you put in the system alarms screen, BUT setting directly into the HTC alarms doesnt always copy through to the system alarms tab.
I also use G-alarm, its great. But here is a free one thats looks like G-alarm

I have "Alarm-Light" selected as my alarm tone, and the thing doesn't shut up until I've stopped it.
