[REQ]Need Touch full screen keybaord

Heyo. The piece oh crap small default keyboard on wm6 leaves me with far to many mistakes to correct, I was wondering if anyone out there had a good solution.

SPD Full Screen KB (about USD10) - good for text entry into documents, not for fields, finger (thumb) friendly
HappyTapping KB - just usable with finger but really needs stylus but bigger easier than standard

Onscreen Keyboard alternative
I have been using MessagEase (from [U]www.exideas.com[/U]) and it has worked for me quite well. I highly recommend it.
It has fewer, larger key that you can either click with a stylus or a finger (large keyboard mode). They have a full trial download, 2 months I believe.
It looks strange at first. But once you figure out the simple logic behind it (taps for most frequent letters, and slides for the other) it really makes sense.
Recently some one at ZDNet reviewed it quite favorably.

because after a soft reset i always have to change the keyboard againg

Look for a program called SIPS Enable. This will save your keyboard settings after you reset. You can also just set a button to open SPB...

Install SIPchange found here on xda dev. and select the keyboard as default, and it will stay sfter soft reset.

I never used 'Transcriber' until today, man this is the best thing out there, I love it.

I recomment PCMKeyboard. This is not working on touch but on release on a button....

PCM Keyboard works fine on the Touch, I have used both versions on the Touch.

Think he meant it registers what character you want to enter upon release of a key and not when initially touching it.

If the keyboard background could be customizable, we can draw the "spacial" keys (\N \M \B) directly onto the background or, even better, we can create separate PNG files (with trasparency) that will be displayed over the corresponding key (so the keys layout will remain fully customizable).

I don't understand you. If you need another keyboard layout, you can make one. Or you're asking something else?

Can not use it - instead of this nice keyboard I have the standard keyboard. I have a russian localized rom and it seems that the probleme is related to that fact

I tried to use with the keyboard but many of our word is with åäö och the keyboard can't "find" the words from T9.

This program has great potential and it is just what i have been looking for, thanks for all your hard work in all your programs, anyways my only problem is that it isn't as quick as i would like it to be, otherwise great software.

All I've got to say is "Bad. . . Ass. . ." lol Great job as usual Tene.

What do you mean, what not fast enough? what kind of device you have?
It runs decently on my 200Mhz device.
If it's the time to suggest that seems to long, you can reduce the dictionnary size, the current one has 21887 words, you can probably get better result with let say 2000 words, I'm sure you don't use stupendous, pasteurization and extemporaneous that often

Tene: next version needs disabling the word suggestion. I cant use it since its replacing the polish text to english.

its a bit faster when i delete the french dictionary and stuff, but maybe in future releases you could have an option to completely turn off the suggestion bar, just an idea

I love this but I have to agree about killing the word suggestion. I tried to type the name Lisa and it kept changing it to kiss, it was really annoying.

great apps, tene. been trying to find something where i can use a finger. t9 takes half the screen and is not ideal. just need some nice skin to go along with it.

*bows down to the developer*...One major grudge for me (with WM) has been the SIP, have tried lots of them but liked none..fancied an iPhone just for the SIP part (rest is crap for me), and now its here...lemme try and and then ill give u the feedback...

when typing SMS in PocketCM, the PCMKeyboard suggestion box blocks the view of the message i am typing.
I would suggest that the suggestion box be setup horizontally and be part of the keyboard. This will avoid this issue. Liked the scrolling in the suggestion box, horizontal scrolling will be nice!

Great job on this app! However, is there any way for a 3rd party SIP to parse the built in dictionary? Oh yeah, and allow us to disable the word suggestion.

Just made this as it works best for the x1, bigger letters than the blackstone keyboard, who needs the arrovs when we have the optical joystick

here is the new keybord image to fill the screen but still have the larger letter for easy typing, first i made the touch hd layout witout the arrows, but the letters were to small, so this is the best solution so far to still have the large letters for finger friendly typing.

looks the same as HD but without the arrows, and that makes the letters a little bigger and more finger friendly.

well, the problem with using Raphael's keyboard is that at landscape mode, it doesn't stretch fully and create white space on right/left side of the keyboard.
OTOH, I believe this version will enable word completion and name/address prediction when you text using hardware keyboard, am I right?
does it break the symbol and the ascent key? If it doesn't, I'm inclined to install this over the TouchPal that I'm using.

Dont know about the symbol thing, as my x1 is being replaced right now, but i can make a symbol pad cab for the x1 if so.

uninstall takes some time, be patient!
ascend keys are everybodys problem on hardware keyboard, im working on a fix, but it takes some time, maybe someother member can fix it faster

yes there is, look in start inställningar input keyboard choose language, hmm choose swedish...

Nope, I waited for 10 minutes and then it went "This program could not be completely removed." Ant it's still there, and my AU key still doesn't work. What should I do?

Nope, there's no swedish option there.

Any advice, please? This cab won't uninstall, how can I remove it manually or at least make the AU key work again?

Just made a hard reset after killing the phone trying to uninstall this thing. Anyone who don't want to waste time restoring your data or to be stuck with an unfunctional AE button, do yourself a favor and don't install this.

Same here, can't uninstall, now I am stuck with a crappy keyboard that doesn't work due to unfinished uninstall. I even tried SKTools and it didn't work. Now I need to find a way to uninstall it.

Update: I just did a hard reset for the phone to get rid of this software. Now I am installing everything from the beginning. The guy who did this is not even showing a sign of life to help us out :S.

I like the essence of this keyboard, but it still needs a bit of tweaking. The landscape mode is broken too, though that isn't a big problem for me, as I use the HW keyboard in landscape anyway.
Will this ever be updated, smaberg? (Will send PM for it.)

Ah, okay. Can you point us towards those threads? There's a lot of clutter when I search for it myself. (As the words "raphael" and "keyboard" are often combined in threads.)

T9 issue

I have a minor issue i would like solved!
When writing an sms (text message) i can't add a word to my wordlist!!!
ex. the dictionary cant spell my username: maxinz !!!
Shouldn't there be an option to add the word to a list (with a "+" key)
so when you write it the 2nd time, its there in the list!!
please help me work this out!!

When you write your username: maxinz then you will get a few options just above the keyboard in the grey section.
Your name maxinz is there to, click it ones and it's saved in the dictionary.

Next time your username will be recognized bu the dictionary.
Be sure not to add the wrong ass in my case: maxins.
Then that name will be in the dictionary to and you still need to type your full name or select it in the grey bar above the keyboard.

I didn't even had to press the "+" i just pressed maxinz in the grey bar.
Iff you don't have the grey bar to then look for another keyboard.
Looking throug this forum i came upon diferent types of keyboards.
Do you have XT9 enabled? look at my screenshot from my previous post, below the "a" key there is XT9/ABC butoon, XT9 has to be green!
Maybe this will help:
On the bottom center of the screen you will find a keyboard icon, next to it a traingle pointing upwards, press that and try Phone keyboard (ore something like that, if have a Dutch phone and don't know how it's called in English).
Standard XT9 is disabled, click again on the triangle.
click on the top most option, something like Touchinputsettings.
Click on the 2nd. tab: XT9-settings and check something like Wordadding in ABC-mode (just for Phonekeyboard).
Click ok.
Do you have the grey bar above keyboard with (or without "+")?
If so you can add your username and switch back to the normal keyboard.

Works very easy, just run the app and shake your phone whenever you need a screenshot!

Then i think you're only left wih:
A: Go back to official rom.
B: Use Full QWERTY to add words and than switch back.

Bro.. what ya got is EZinput 2.1.
Something that I was interested in (coz of the smaller footprint) until I realized I can't add new words (and some other problems too)

It's still in beta.. so a lil sucky for now.
What you need is EZinput2.0.
Ask any cooks if there's a package for that you can install. Will save you the trouble of flashing another ROM.

What you have there is the Rodhium keyboard that is in the custum rom, that's all. No big deal.

1. uninstall all Ezinput from your phone
2. Restart your phone
3. download Nikoan89 - VGA EzInput 2.1 v2.2 from this LINK
4. Install Nikoan89 - VGA EzInput 2.1 v2.2
5. Restart your phone, and your problem are solved.

But is it really that much better than the HTC keyboard? I'm not a fan of Swype to be honest. I like tapping much more, especially since I don't always use standard words, which can be annoying with Swype then.

I have to say Ive just tried this and it seems very good. Might be my favourite so far out of the Stock keyboard, HTC Mod, and Swype. Time will tell though. Only wrote a few texts with it, but it does seem quick.

So far, I quite like it.
I wish it would stop inserting spaces after punctuation and word selection though.

I like it a lot, also because it can learn from your sms history and HTC IME mod is extremely poor in dictionary.
So far it's working ok, but it needs some fine tuning in the interface and it allows just one language for now!

Was blown away by first message... typed a full sentence and only had to press the first letter of a few words and space bar the rest.
Have been using BetterKeyboard for a while now, but SwiftKey immediately outdoes it's prediction and easier to select other words. Hopefully this takes off and skins are developed etc... keys felt a touch smaller than BK.
edit: "I love you." = , [space], [l], [space], [space] - still has the same meaning

Is there a work around to use two language packs? I need the german language pack for most of my things but like in this forum and for twitter and so on I need the english language pack.

Well, as long as there is no multi language support for this keyboard I will have to switch back to sense too. But I have to say the the Swift keyboard is the best keyboard I tried until now (besides the original keyboard).

But it's very boring that add a space every time.
If I want to add a three point I have to cancel the space.
