Hi - on my XV 6800, when I turn the thumbwheel past the "max" setting, such as for the volume, the device beeps, even if I have the volume control set to mute. How can I turn "off" those beeps"? I don't see a setting in Sounds and
Notifications for it. I already have unchecked "Events" in Sounds and Notifications but that has not made any difference.
Thanks,
Tim
I don't believe there is an easy way to accomplish this but maybe someone else knows something I don't.
I mine I can just turn off hardware buttons on the enable sounds part of notifications. Not sure if that is what you wanted to do. Chad

Hmm... I already have that choice un-checked, but I still get the beeps when I use the thumbwheel. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim

I was wondering if anyone knew a registry tweak that would STOP the phone from vibrating (3-4 vibrates ANNOY me ) when you turn the Wi-Fi switch on, on the side of the phone? Thnx
mine doesn't do that... strange?
It's only when the phone is on "vibrate"
maybe there's a noise that you have set to play when wifi is switched, and since you're on vibe, it will vibrate instead.
As I said, I don't have this problem, and neither does anyone I know who has this device.
Then again, we're all professional types who turn off the keytones and sliding sounds right away. Maybe that has to do with it.
is vibrating when you turn the wrieless on
or is it when it finds a wireless ap
I would try in your sounds and notificatins goto notifications
in the selection list select "wireless network detected", make sure the vibrate button is not ticked
Yeah, I don't know what you have set up because mine definitely doesn't do that, even when the phone is on vibrate.

already did that, im not so stupid like that.
i just 5 minutes ago did hard reset. it works again. that was really strange, i didnt changed it so much.
LED and vibration by sms recieve works again.
but vibration is still too short, with mozart tone.
how i make vibration stronger and longer? i prefer about 7 sec.
Well, I didn't really think you where stupid, but WM isn't really logical sometimes, so splitting phone and notifications settings isn't always obvious.
Don't know if there are any tweak settings for the length of vibrations, but using phoneAlarm you could change how it vibrates.

have the audio alert last for 7 seconds. The only problem I have is I like the phone to pulse vibrate, but it seems like WM just does a full burst.
I'm having the same issues. ROM is the one that OliNex posted,
It's set in Sounds and Notifications, however it doesn't vibrate. Phone calls do.
I'v tried hard reset, I've tried soft reset, I've tried reflashing, but no success. Is there a registry setting somewhere?
Thanks

Is the profile on vibrate? Try Menu > Settings > Sounds > Vibrate in General.
nope! it's on Normal with vibrate unchecked
Had the same issue and found this on Androidworld:
Try this:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications
Find the keyboard software you are using (for example "Android-Keyboard"), press "delete cache" and "delete data". This removes al personal settings of the keyboard.
After that I rebooted and vibration was turned off. Hopes it works!
Does this also remove all dictionary entries?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On a side note, I think I get times where the phone occasionally vibrates for no good reason - no apparent notification, no apparent change or anything.

Get exactly the same thing. No idea why as it's completely random and can be days between.

Good, at times I thought it was me going mad but I'm 100% sure it does this occasionally - but it could be absolutely anything, so I didn't even bother trying to find the cause.
I'm getting the same. 1 short followed by 3 short "pulses". The phone was in silent-mode (no vibrate), and I didn't get any calls og messages at the time.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
This is a very strange thing that happened to me today. I am not sure what I hit from the outside of my phone to put it into vibrate mode but I noticed the following afterwards:
When I turn the ring volume all the way down it vibrates and shows the vibrate symbol only. I could have sworn there are 2 modes here silent or vibrate. Why is it forcing vibrate? In my settings I have vibrate on call turned off.
I was playing around with the Do Not Disturb features, but not sure how this could affect something like this.
Any ideas? Can people please confirm that on their Nexus 6P when they turn the volume all the way down they don't see a vibrate symbol, but a silent symbol (the tune with the / through it). I want to make sure I am not losing my mind.
My phone is on Android version: 6.0.1
I get vibrate (square with lines on the outside symbol) and if I click volume down again I go to DND. Sounds like you changed a setting in DND options maybe

What you just described is exactly what I get I think. If I go down to the bottom I get the vibrate symbol, if I hit down again I get DND. Does this make sense? I guess DND is silent? I swear on my Nexus 6 there was a Tune with a / through it regardless of DND settings.

Sounds like how mine works, and I'm totally stock. DND is pretty much same as silent but with alarms and I think you can adjust other settings as well. Haven't messed with it much, but sounds like yours is working properly. Did you have MM on your N6? If not, I don't think Lollipop had DND

Can't remember what my Nexus 6 had, but I am pretty sure DND works slightly different in the latest version of Marshmallow. I like what they did with it though, a lot more flexibility. Thanks for confirming that I'm just going crazy and that my phone is functioning properly.
