Hi
Upgraded to mary Windows 6- but can't configure the settings for the GPS
Set the unit for Com 9 - but what setting is it for the GDP port?
Also- this section is in Italian!!
Paul
To use GPS, you actually don't need to touch anything in the GPS applet.
Just setup your application to use COM9 is good enough. Of course, if you want to use the intermediary driver, you can set it to whatever GPSx in your GPS applet setting.
Still no GPS....
Thanks for the answer.
I have set the hardware to Com9 - but it also asks what to set the software "GPS software port" to- but that cannot be com9 - it won't allow it. So far no success in getting the GPS to operate
what software are you using the gps with?
Using Google maps- Also GpsGate cannot find the GPS system- using Mary Win 6 ROM
solved it!
It needed a Radio upgrade to 1.5 to get the GPS to be recognised!
Mary without GPS

TRy to off secure connection i bluetooth settings /section 2/
Just FYI, I am sure someone else posted this info elsewhere...but thought I'd share anyway.
I am using xplode's Windows Mobile 6.1 rom (WM6) on my Blue Angel (BA) and decided to play with Google Maps Mobile (GMM) with my TomTom bluetooth gps receiver (TT gps).
I already have TomTom Navigator software (TTN) v6.0.10 running on my BA with the TT gps without any issues: just turn on bluetooth radio on BA, turn on the TT receiver, start the TTN software and use!
Problem: my first attempt at using GMM with "Use GPS" feature on the BA didn't go so smoothly. The message on my GMM was stuck at "Seeking GPS Satellites (0)...".
Here was the solution (which may have been obvious to some, but not to me...since I am new to WM6):
(STEPS 1 through 6 are described in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...ngel_WM6_WizzardSettings_GPS&action=BackLinks)
1. Ensure Bluetooth (BT) radio on BA is ON. Ensure your TT gps is on.
2. In WM6, pair your BA and your TT gps. Make sure the Serial Port service is checked.
3. In WM6, set up an Outgoing COM port for the TT gps. Take note of this COM port (eg. COM6).
4. In WM6, assign a GPS program port (Start > Settings > Connections > External GPS > Programs tab).
5. In WM6, assign the COM port in Step 3 to the GPS hardware port (Start > Settings > Connections > External GPS > Hardware tab). The Baud rate was set to 115200 by default, which I left untouched.
6. In WM6, check "Manage GPS automatically (recommended)" in Start > Settings > Connections > External GPS > Access tab. This was checked by default on mine.
7. Start GMM. In my case, I only am using Wi-Fi, which will cause GMM to give me warning saying it needs a "data connection". If you only plan to use Wi-Fi like I do, just ignore it and the application will work fine.
8. In GMM, ensure that the "My Location Settings" has the radio button "Set by Windows (Via Start -> Settings)" selected. To check, navigate via "Menu > Options > GPS Settings...".
If it all works, you should see the following messages in succession:
"Initializing GPS..."
"Seeking GPS satellites (0)..."
"GPS active (N)..."
where N reflects the number of satellites found.
You can then use the "My Location" feature, just look for the blinking blue dot.
Hope this helps someone.
its works, perfect.
You need not follow such a complex procedure.
Simply pair your TT BT GPS, set it for serial port and com port to 6.
Go to GMaps, set is GPS setting manually to port 6 with 57600 or higher, thats all. Once you set use GPS on gmaps, all will start working.
OK, but what if I don't have any gps...
How can I make anything to get "my location" working?? Without gps?
Hi there,
I'm running TomTom6 (navigation) and Efficasoft GPS Utilities v1.2 (GPS-Tracking) on my MDA3 with WM6.1 from eplode. Everything works fine when it's running alone. But, when I'm running both at same time, only the first one which I started gets the GPS connection.
My GPS Settings are:
- Programs: GPS program port (none)
- Hardware: GPS hardware port (none) // Baud rate: (9600)
- Access: Manage GPS automatically (on)
I didn't try any other settings yet.
What I want to do, is running both at same time, so I can track the route and speed while using the navigation.
Does anyone has a solution...?
Thx Rossi
In the windows GPS settings don't split GPS correctly, you might need to use software like GPSGate (or maybe gpsproxy).
Thx, but where can I get this...?
Greets Rossi
Have you tried u2buy4less.com
Hi,
I install GPS utilities and try to connect to GPS holux. When search, it can found GPS holux. But when I try to start. It always failed. It can't connect to GPS device.
Does anyone have a good experience about this?
I'm using Amadeus with WM 2003 SE and Holux M1000.
What GPS software do you use on your mobile device?
I have a Qtek 8010 with a Holux M1000, but I could not find any functioning GPS program...
connected to GPS!
I was able to connect to my GPS, now it's up and going .
Configuration:
Qtek 8010
WM 6.1 [1.5] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374893
Holux M1000
GPS software: PocketGPS-Map http://pocketgpsmap.sourceforge.net/
I have Efficasoft GPS Utilities installed on my smartphone. But I can't found GPS when I run this application
Should I upgrade my smartphone to WM 6?
I downloaded and tried Efficasoft GPS Utilities. Nice program, have you the key?
It functioned without problems on my typhoon device; where did you get problems/errors and what messages did you get?
I hope I can help you...
I don't have the key yet, I just want to try my GPS connection for test.
I choose Auto Search Bluetooth GPS Receiver. My holux was found. But when I try to connect (Start GPS), it always failed.
Error message:
Unable to connect GPS receiver. Please check the receiver connection setup and try Start GPS again.
What's wrong with my GPS
You could try to assign a COM port to your Holux, instead of using Auto Search Bluetooth.
1. turn the Holux on;
2. Assign a com port from Settings > Connections > Bluetooth
(here you should see your Holux, if you don't click on Add new device)
select Holux, click on Menu > COM Ports and assign a COM port (I have assigned COM6 for example)
3. Now start GPS Utilities
4. Click on Menu > GPS Setup
5. De-select Auto Search Bluetooth and select the correct COM port (COM6 for me)
6. Click on Menu > Done
7. Click on Menu > Start GPS
Does it work?
I think my smartphone menu is different.
start > settings >
I can't see Connections. It has Data Connection (for GPRS setting) and Bluetooth.
I try to select Bluetooth, select holux, but I can't found menu to assign COM port.
FYI, I'm using WM2003, not WM6.
My problem is I can't make/choose COM port for bluetooth.
I don't know how to help you.
I see two options:
1) try another gps software
2) try to upgrade your rom
I've upgraded from WM2003 to WM6.1 and I'm very satisfied -- thank you ALEUT!

It's ok. Thank you for your help
