Hello Everyone, I hope you all are fine.
I saw a photo of an imate jam (the one I have) who's taskbar was on the bottom of the screen. Here is the photo:

May be its just me, but I cannot find any way of bringing it down. I want my phone to look more like real windows and the taskbar on the top doesn't look very good. Also, as you can see in the picture, the address bar of the PIE is also on the top, just like the real IE. Somehow everything in the above phone is setup to look more like real windows. It would be so great if I somebody could suggest a way to do this.
Is this possible? Of course its possible when someone has already done that. But the question is 'how.'
I expected a better response here on XDA-Developers. I posted the same question in another forum but people there didn't seem to be too intelligent. But I'm surprised that even among people who are programmers, I can't see something that could be encouraging.
If you're a programmer reading my post, you could perhaps take a hint about this from Pocket Notepad. When I run this program on WM5 (on HTC Wizard) it does the same effect: Brings the taskbar to the bottom, exactly as I am wanting. It looks very beautiful. But as soon as I close or minimize pocket notepad, everything goes back to its normal position.
actually i wanted to see how to do that too, because to me the bar on the bottom just seems more "normal"...

try this:
http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html
is there any application which is "simpler" no needs for the tabs and pages...
just a quick launch plugin with large icons (thumb pressable) to quickly open some applications
tdLaunch
You may try this one:
http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/?...ptools/&wb_lp=JAEN&wb_dis=2&wb_co=excitejapan
but Claunch is really good, once you gey used to it
What is the GUI Skining application you are using that "!STILL!" shows the phone signal icon. Most GUI Skinning apps cover this info up! Please let me know I can't wait, so excited!
GUI skin
The picture is not a screen capture of hops's XDA but taken from oabsoftware. And you are right, I didn't notice this. We have to ask them what were they using when they took this picture.
yes please do! I see sometime people doctoring the display to make their product look nice but, it really gets a lot of people excited about something that does not exist I have seached long and hard and nothing seems to be able to do it without cover the signal bars  so I thought it might be pocket blinds a new version but they still have the old one out from years ago no update, and it doesn't work. So needless to say my hopes are high here. So keep us posted I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting this 8)
I found some original screenshots on Microsoft page:

WHAT'S UP!? what's it?
Windows Mobile notification inside my device looks different?
why?
did I missed something? or someone....
That looks nice. What's the link?

linked directly
I linked pictures directly, see pictures properties
@JGUI: He was probably asking for the link to the HTML page which originally embeds those images.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/press/imagegallery/default.mspx
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/press/imagegallery/customization.mspx
Saw that when I tried finding the Windows Mobile boot splash that had the progress bar on it a while ago. Ended up not finding that one, btw... if anybody knows where that went..
Why did you actually attach the same screenshot twice?
fixed, thanks for announce
I must say it looks very appealling to me. I wonder why they're there.. Should I try to create a today theme based on it?
i think, that it is just a fake of WM5 theme.
Look at the fonts and stuff.. positions of the soft buttons text..
hmm.. i don't know.
buzz
yih.. one of those "you *could* do this with customizations... (smallprint: if you want to spend a lot of time and money fighting our API and whatnot)
Notification bubbles are just HTML, so they could be real, but it would require access to the source code, so I imagine that bit is a Microsoft only level customisation. I've not investigated but I haven't seen any way of applying a user defiend template to notifications - but as each app is responsible for the look of its own notification, I'm doubtful.
That's not to say it's not possible to hack the system to intercept notifications and re-write them.

I tried installing the CAB for the Flick Menu from Verzio Envii (an O2 XDA Atom Life variant) on my Tmobile Wing but i can't get it to run. It installs but it won't launch, nothing happens when i tap /launch it...i guess there is a restriction where it would prompt to run or not when launched on a non Verzio Envii device, tried ResHack but i can't see anything related to it, I'm not into programming so thats so far what i can only do. I hope someone would hack this CAB file to run on any device or at least on an HTC.
Btw, the Flick Dynamic Menu runs like the finger friendly Task Manager from X1 Xperia where it would show the snapshot of any running tasks, probably would be the best task manager if hacked to run on any device!
it's very nice, thank you for your share
Can you provide larger screenshot..I can't see it clearly..thanks looks interesting
Wont work for me either (Touch Dual), however on the today screen something flickers and shows all sorts of colors jabbered through each other really short (couldn't take a screenshot, that short) and it does change the left softkey (which naturally won't work). I'd love to dig into this but I'm kind of not knowing what to do, so I'll open the .exe in a hex editor and see
dont worry you posted this in the correct place. alot of things start off that way such as manilla 2d.
now all i can suggest is too check this thread and wait. somebody will come along and get it too work.
I think you have lost somthing .
My phone is Verzio Envii , I have installed the cab above, but it doesn't run.
Finding it hard getting effective instructions how to change skins on SPB Mobile Shell 2.1
I've downloaded files and been instructed "to replace files in the SPB folder on the device and then perform hard reset"
This has the effect of producing a kind of hybrid between the default and what I'm trying to install.
I presume this is because some files are left over from the previous skin.
If anybody knows of any good tutorials or can help I'd appreciate it. I know I might get bombarded with "use the search" and such like but I've spent what seems like most of my life since I got my Touch Diamond on this forum.
I really need to stay away.....customising this machine is addictive.
Try this one and let me know.

Thanks for the reply but no good unfortunately. Generally buggy, skins installed result in overlaps (clock over calendar, calendar under sms/mms etc)
Poor quality icons, no preview of what you are selecting in the numerous customisation options.Bit of a mess really.
I can't help you with a tutorial, but I know there is a dedicated thread in the "General" section of this forum. Also, the SPB Cub forum has very much covered about this topic.
You just import the .dat into the SPB Mobile Shell directory, and that's all you have to do. Also, make sure the theme is for VGA device and not QVGA device, that would cause your theme to overlap and all kind of mess.
Here's mine screen and everything look just fine.

Just wondering if everyone would like to share their setup of their using this app to give ideas and show the capabilities of it's awesomeness, thanks
this is a good idea. Why am i the first to reply? I think it would be awesome to have a place where everyone could share their mtpref files and post pictures showing what they look like. That way people could build upon what others have created. I think it would be a good way to get the creative juices flowing. OP, you should think about creating this thread in the android themeing section. General thread for a specific device? no wonder im the first to reply...

The only thing needed were the wallpapers: @KeithSwisher & @Romanbb
If you touch cookie monster's mouth, circle launcher loads 20+ apps.
And the App: Simple Text (get this if you like text icons).
Did not use the app mentioned in the OP... but I prefer this.
Minimalistic Text
I too, think this is an excellent idea and I'm really surprised there hasnt been more responses. Whats up community?
I just purchased a new Xoom 4G upgrade version and I am searching for setups to get some ideas from all you great peeps. If anybody knows of some good sites to check out that would be great...or of course start posting some Minimalistic screens here would be even better.
