Is it possible to have Ring+Vibrate option through HTC Home Profile tab? May be through registry?
That can be set up sounds & notifications.
Then when HTC Home is set to ring, you will get Ring+Vibrate.
Yes, this i know. But i want the 4 tabs to do the following.
Ring only
Ring & Vibrate
Vibrate only
No Ring, no Vibrate
So you see, i cannot get option 1 & 2 without changing manually from Notifications.
Same question for me.
I want to modify the four profile, as saifias said.
I seek registry and HTC Home folder but I didn't see anything that can helps.
It is possible to do?

On WM2003SE you could disable most of the sounds, but have things like the text message alert still sound.. WM5 appears to not allow this: turn off Notifications and new incoming text messages are also disabled.
This is really irritating because it means you either have sounds on, and get irritating bleeps WHENEVER you hit ANY button (it seems) - including the start button and any program you hit in the menu..... OR you have no sounds when using the device - but no warning of incoming texts.
Can this be solved??
start>settings>sound¬ifications>notifications tab then untick the "play sound" box

If you mean the page with the drop down list of events..... there isn't an option for "Start menu"...
Currently trying (on the 'Sounds' Tab)
Events - unchecked
Programs - checked
- Notifications - checked
Screen Taps - unchecked
Hardware Buttons - unchecked
I THINK this is the way it should be for what I want: silent machine unless there's a message/call incoming.
Hi,
Check Sound Schemes and Waveform Audio registry settings @Microsoft (see below)
Works from CE4+. I use an empty sound scheme. Use tascal TRE for editting those REGSZ_MULTI's. Keep 21 lines (events in the scheme (even if the lines are empty!
Or set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume\Mute to 0x03.
Only use only WAV-files in \Windows. Sound schemes can be fun.
Why has nobody vere made a Sound Scheme Editor for Windows CE4+?
Should be easy to make.

Hiding System Sound Events
The following system sound events are available through the shell:
Asterisk
Close
Critical
Default
Empty
Exclam
Infbeg
Infend
Infintr
MenuPop
MenuSel
OpenProg
Question
Netbeg
Netend
Netintr
Startup
WindMax
WindMin
RecStart
RecEnd
The Wceshellfe.reg file contains a mask you can use to hide system sound events that do not apply to a target device. The following registry key allows you to set the mask to disable sound events.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Snd\Event
".Scheme"=".DefaultSounds"
"EventMask"=dword:FFFFFF
"EventCache"=dword:300
;Scheme descriptions
".NoSounds"=multi_sz:"","","","","","","","","","","","", "","","","","","","","",""
".DefaultSounds"=multi_sz:"Asterisk","","critical","default","","exclam","infbeg","infend","infintr","","","","question","Netbeg","Netend","Netintr","startup","","",""
".AllSounds"=multi_sz:"Asterisk","Close","critical","default","Empty","exclam","infbeg","infend","infintr","MenuPop","MenuSel","OpenProg","question","Netbeg","Netend","Netintr","startup","WindMax","WindMin","RecStart","RecEnd"
;
In the registry key, the Scheme setting specifies the current sound scheme. The NoSounds, DefaultSounds, and AllSounds schemes are defined, and DefaultSounds is specified as the current scheme.
The EventMask allows events that do not apply to a target device to be hidden. The mask is a DWORD initially set to FFFFFF, which means all sounds are enabled. The following example shows show to set EventMask to disable Asterisk.
"EventMask"=dword:FFFFFE
The EventCache setting specifies the cache menu popup and menu select.

remove sounds on events as the first tab in sounds and notifications.
I only have the second one down, the first disable screen taps and menu activations
i dont even like the phone tap sounds. i only have programs and notifications, but not events, screen taps or hardware buttons.
then i can control the sounds via the notification tab to choose custom sounds for every event i want.
I did search but couldn't find anything relevant.
Is there some kind of reg hack that turns off the vibrate notification when sending a text message if the phone is set to vibrate mode? Makes is tricky to send a sneaky txt during a meeting as it is.
Cheers.
try downloading pocketzenphone its a great app for sorting out profiles to turn on/off stuff like vibrating, message alerts etc.....it hasnt the ability to turn off the 'sms sent' feature but it no longer vibrates on mine!?
Id suggest using the beta 3 release (no problems to report) as for some reason some alerts dont work correctly with the 6.0 release on the TyTN.
Its easier to switch between preset profiles using this too.
Nice thanks. I'll check it out.
got this from one of the threads here...
Use a registry editor and go to:
HKCU\control panel\notifications\default\options
change the dword value to whatever suits your needs.
here are the following dword value and corresponding results:
0 - show icon
1 - show icon and play notification sound
2 - show icon and vibration
3 - show icon and vibration and play notification sound
4 - same as 0
5 - same as 1
6 - same as 3
7 - same as 3
8 - show icon and notification bubble
9 - show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble
10 - show icon and notification bubble and vibration
11 - show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble and vibration
Ive got two very irritating bugs on my wizard.
First one is that i cant get rid of that damn sent message window/noise. It plays it even with the phone on silent or vibrate and with all windows noises/alerts turned off. Its very annoying when trying to send a text quietly.
Second is ive got a 1.7mb mp3 i want to set as a ring tone, It shows up in the phone but wont preview and if i select it it just changes it to windows default when i press ok. Ive tried another mp3 aswell and i get the same probem. Ive tried storing it in windows and my documents
Phone is an XDA Mini S
windows build build 14847.2.0.0
2.21.4.1WWE
Radio - 02.07.10.
exRom 2.21.4.101
(First) That is weird. Mine won't beep if I'm on silent mode. Cannot help you
(Second) Try using the File Explorer, click-hold on the MP3 and then set as Ring Tone.
if i correctly understand what you need (first item only), you may have to change the registry... please refer to the text below.

btw, i set mine to 0 so that it's only the icon that is shown when i send a message (and it is displayed for about a second at the top of the screen, indicating a message has been sent). there will not be any vibration, or "message sent" notification bubble, or notification sound to "harrass" you
i tried setting it as a ringtone using file explorer, it wouldnt give me the option. is there a size limit on mp3 ringtones?
i even tried editing it in the registery and it just changes back to the normal ring tone as soon as the phone rings! grr!
i did that reg hack first time round, for some reason it had changed itself to 13.
I changed it back to zero and reset, still no joy
this really is driving me MAD :evil:
I just did the same, but still get the message icon at the top, and a notification (but no sound). So, I still have to click on notification>dismiss. Which is a pain
my default value is 13, any idea?
Hi everybody
It's all resumed in the title of this thread ...
In the past I was using SPB phone suite or Phone Alarm to switch between the different profiles I set, but on my Touch HD, as I'm usign the Manila TF3D plugin on my today screen, no other today plugin can co-exist with Manila TF3D.
So I'm looking for a SW that will allow switching between different profiles (Loud, normal, car, silent, etc ...) straight away from the taskbar or by using a shortcut ...
If anybody have any solution, will appreciate if he/she can share
Cheers
Nobody knows such SW that can do the job?
personally i just tap the volume on the top bar, choose volume icon and then hit silent, vibrate or adjust the volume it self... alternatively change volume by volume key and choose silent/vibrate...
it is not bad for me, compared to the homescreen profile tab back on my htc touch wm 6.1.
Hi all ...just got the HD2 yesterday ...so far fairly impressed with it ..battery usage is a little scary down to 58 after 15 hours and most of those hours where at night ...but still got to be kind of realistic with the size of screen and cpu it has anyway could anyone help/tell me a way to turn off the vibrate function will typing on the keyboard... I’m finding typing is not a problem at with the standard setup just the annoying vibrate feedback ...ive gone through all the menus on the phone looking for the option to turn it off but nothing found also quickly checked the forum to, and didn’t see anything???..
thanks
Go to the settings tab, select the topmost option for adjusting background, tabs, etc. On the next screen you'll find an option for turning vibration feedback on/off.
Actual names might be different as I'm using a Dutch language ROM.
thank you ...was looking in the wrong place ..(the keyboard setup menu)
HD2 (Leo) Disabling keyboard vibration
Thank you..You are absolutely correct.. missed this one and was looking in all other places.
Its located under Sense UI settings > Personalize > Vibration
Thanks again..

doing this doesn´t disable the vibration on my keyboard what can i do?
Settings -> Personalize -> Vibration. Untick the box for 'Vibrate when I tap buttons in HTC Sense,....'
doing the above will also lose the feedback vibration while clicking the tabs in homescreen...... the other simple way to only disable vibration in keyboard alone is do the following registry tweak
Using Resco Registry, go to Hkey Local Machine / Software / HTC / ezsip
Add a new DWORD Value string and call it "VibrationEnabled" (without the quotes) and give it a value of 0.
then Soft reset and enjoy!
or install this cab.
