Hi, can any1 help? I had my xda for ages but now I come to use it,it cant make or receive calls! It all worked fine when I put it away a year ago and now its stoped. SMS txts works fine I have flashed it but still no go! Please help

Yes mate its a voda sim and now the firmware is voda, I have tried others like Qtek, O2 but no look. I`m wondering about changing the eimi number, but even that not so easy the rom wont let me, its says its done but its not! any ideas? Please

Hi all still not got anywere with my xdaII no matter what i try still only get txt messages and cant dial in or out. The sim is UK voda. I check to see if they blocked my imei number and its not black listed. Please anyone HELP!!!!!!!!!

hi just bought a spv m1000 from ebay done the unlock now when i try to use my voda sim I cant make a call. Wap and text both work fine just when i try to make a call it just says dialing number then it says ending call?. :?: :?:

Did the phone work ok before unlock? You can get a phone that is blocked that will work with sms and wap/gprs but will not allow calls. Do you know if the seller made an insurance claim on the phone because the phone will be blocked if they have.
Have you tried dialling your number from another phone to see if it rings?
thanks for the reply but unfortunatly i did not have a orange sim to test if it was ok before unlock. so as i bought it off ebay it could be blocked would it be worth ringing orange and asking them.
mickbrush, if you ring Orange they will tell you if it is a blocked phone, explain that you bought it from ebay and ask if it was listed stolen or damaged. It will work in other countries so you may get a deal with somebody, otherwise you could use it in your car as navigation system and mp3 player etc.
I have just tryed a o2 sim in it and it all works fine so dosent seem to be blocked. Should I try upgrading the radio andif so what to.

I am using the O2 xda mini in India.
THe problem I am facing is I came to nepal for my vacation, and with the network service providers here, I cannot make or receive calls. The phone registers properly with the network. I can receive and send SMSs. THe only problem is with the calls.
I tried hard resetting the phone. I played with the call forwarding/waiting settings for a while and it started working BUT i wanted to copy number from the old sim, i inserted the old sim.. copied the numbers and inserted back the new sim again. And it has stopped working again. I tried hard resetting, playing with the settings. Can someone enlighten me on this.
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS.. CANT MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS while I CAN SEND / RECEIVE SMS.

Did you try inputting the international dialing code before the number?
If you are going to be in India for a while it might be best if you purchased a SIM chip there to go into your phone.
Also, your phone IS unlocked, right?

i have an orange contract and want to use the phone on orange
i can put the simcard in to the phone and it will take and recive phone calls fine
problem is
i cant recive or send text messages
i try to send a text message and it comes up with "your text message has not been sent as your sim is not valid"
this is driveing me potty!!!
i have tried flashing it cant upgrade to the crossbow rom it fails for some reason.
i tried the unlocking tool from loki and it seems not to be locked hence i can make and recive calls on it.
it also wont let me pick up the network settings ?? just comes up "the phone is not ready wait 15 sec and try again" waited a few hours and constantly tried it no diffrence
please anyone who can help i would be extreemly greatefull!!!

I too have the same problem, Mine used to be on 02 and my company changed there network to Orange, now my phone was locked to 02, so had to unlock it, since then i'm unable to get to any of the phone settings as in the above post, I'm sure there is a way round this but have been unable to find anything yet.
I also had another issue whereby it would not Sync with our exchange server over GPRS, this has now been resolved since updating the rom to WM6, but the phone settings issue remains.
I've tried a hard reset with no luck.
If anyone knows why this happends and can shed some light as to a solution, i'll come to your house and make you cups of tea fora while week !

I wonder if someone can help. I am using a MDA Touch Plus running Niki projects v1 rom, hardspl and radio rom i dont remember which one exactly. My problem is that i can see signal bars atleast 2 or 3 but i cant make or receive calls. When i try to call it just drops the call without ringing. When someone tries to call it goes straight into voicemail. I cannot send or receive sms messages either. Rest of phone(pda part) works fine. If i try any other sim(O2 or Orange) it does not get any signal at all. The phone is sim and cid unlocked.
In desparation i have even tried orignal HTC ASIAN ROM with no luck.
Any ideas??

Your phone is blocked by the operator. Whoever sold you had it on contract and has either stopped paying the bill or has reported the phone lost or stolen. Orange sims will work for a very short time when they are first put into the hermes until the network picks up it is blocked. If you want proof just put the orange sim in a phone that works fine and make a couple of calls and then take it out and put it in the hermes and power it up and you will get a signal and it will work for a while then it will switch off again.
I would contact ebay and report him and if you paid by paypal i would contact them too. Well unless he stated that the phone was blocked already, in which case you havent got a leg to stand on.
If you are in the uk you can check if the imei is blocked by dialing this number, just follow the prompts and enter the imei when it asks, the number is 07956125820. Its a tmobile number for checking imei's out

Don't change anything.... Reread scousemartin's post, he already told you whats wrong. If you play around with it you aren't gonna get anywhere and its just gonna be a headache if you bought it off ebay. As its been modified by you, the seller will say YOU caused the problem so its NOT HIS/HER fault and you will be out of pocket with a useless phone.....

that number works, try calling it on a phone that isnt the one thats blocked
going to orange or the car phone warehouse wont be of any use as they are going to say exactly what i have told you, you have been ripped off by somebody on ebay. Why dont you just contact ebay and tell them they have sold you a phone thats been blocked in fact if it was me, i would post there ebay username all over the net
