HTC Hermes - Best ROM? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

What is the best rom today for HTC Hermes?
I want speed , stability with cool options like the cube [dual touch,touch]...
thanks =]

I like schaps wm6...

Schap is GOD
Schap is GOD in my humble opinion...
I was flashing ROMs because most sucked, till I flashed a Schap's, then I actually started enjoying my TyTn and now TyTn II.

K's
K's Rom over on the Hermes WM6 forum, without question....... its fast!!!! and not overloaded

I haven't tried K's, though it looks cool, he doing that for the Kaiser?
What ever happened to JJ?

RAM Upgrade?

Hi,
Is there anyway to upgrade the RAM in wing?
Thanks
None, unfortunately. :-/
Getting rid of the stock TMO Rom is the second best thing. Go to the Herald WM6 forum and pick one of the roms - I personally use open touch 2.x

This is a Herald Forum. Please ask this question in the HTC's Magician forum. (There isn't, though, like oddball1 said.)
But they do have some cool hacks for it... please read CAREFULLY and understand the hacks BEFORE you apply them.

Your favorite cooked rom

hi ive been using touch it version 4.10.531.3 wwe
i think its about time for an update or a change.
If you have any reccomendations on what i should try next please post here.
im interested in functionality stability and speed, so far im pleased with the cooked roms ive seen since i prefer them over stock rom.
let me know what you're using pros cons.
i usually just play games and use the phone if that helps
p.s i have the htc t-mobile wing if that helps
I usually reccommend ITJE's Touch-IT or ASERG's Roms ... seeing as you've already using Touch-IT, I'd say check out Aserg's...
But your best option is to try them all until you find one you like.... because everyone is going to start campaigning for their favorite roms as I have ... so you're going to get a bunch of opinions.
ty for youre opinion dave youve been much help across these forumns
No problems. Thats what we're all here for ... I've tried practically every rom on here .. and there's alot of good roms out there ... the ones I suggested are my preference... you may well find another one out there that suites you best.
If I were to give my grandmother a Wing, I'd probably give her TouchIT or ASERG because of simplicity and usefulness... knowing she wouldn't have any problems with it.

I now have a hermes

Well i have (imo)
upgraded from a universal to a hermes and i must say -
in 5 minutes i love it already.
i am currently installing .net framework on my pc so i can run hardspl and then flash crc's wm6.1 rom which seems to be the most stable.
i had it in my mind to get a hermes for a while so i looked into the details
Well yeah my hermes is branded xda trion and costed me £175 but so far its worth every penny

Orange SPV M700

Sorry for my ignorance, but i am a bit lost as to which ROm to use.
I have an orange spv m700, and want to retain GPS etc, but want WM6.
Can any fine gent or lady point me in the right direction ?
You can use any of the ROM's on here. I have an M700 and have used various ROM's, currently using Ervius but also find FinixNover to be very good. You need to find what you want from your ROM and choose accordingly.
FinixNover IS WORKING ON MY M700 FINE
with tomtom
give it a try...it will suprise you

I really don't want to start an argue here!
First:
There is nothing personal and far from being disconsideration, more like (see below)
Second:
It's a positive, constructive criticism. It might as well be my personal opinion, we're free to have one! (but take a look at the posts in your thread and see for yourself because, see below)
Third:
Cooks usually offer support for their work in the respective thread, so I believe you should do that more often for the users giving you their trust and using your work.
Fourth:
I wouldn't call disconsideration an opionion from someone who tried to offer support while you were missing.
So, watch your words as they can be a killer sword sometimes.
indeed i agree with him....
take a look on faman's rom some are full of bugs and some are goods, but even if he stop developing rom, every french trinity owner respect him for his work
your rom have bug at this time but there is also a lot of fresh thing in it (if your rom were **** no one would download it btw)...
just keep do your best and improve it, it's the way it should be
(and by the way it every rom were perfect the version should always be 1.0 lol)

Ridiculously slow i-mate JASJAR

Yeah, there's like something seriously wrong with my device.
Imma start out like every other n00b on here, and just say thanks thanks thanks bla bla bla you guys are great yeah yeah
anyways, i gotta stock-standard HTC Uni, and it's as slow as forrest gump.
Running Tomals v12 64MB beta
It's a really nice ROM. i like it alot, but that aside, it's so freakin' slow
People are like 'oh yeh my uni is running FpseCE so good' but like mine won't even open the start menu. I've done a hard reset, reinstalled all apps to SD, tweaked the registry, overclocked etc and it's almost unusable. like, really unusable. Can summun help me? I'll reward them with a long-lasting forced friendship.
That's not a good ROM to run a 64MB device, it will use too much memory and slow down your device. It's one of the most recent releases, but apart from a few bugs will only run really well if you have a 128MB device.
I would suggest you read about some of the other ROMs that have been cooked and go for one of them. There's no 'best' ROM, although eveyone may have their preference. Try Tomal 9 or Thingonaspring, which I think are both WM6.1 - which runs much better on a 64MB Uni.

Agreed. The ROM was released as a showcase, rather than a working every-day ROM. I have 128Mb device and decided to stick with one of the earlier ROMs. Just flash to something more stable and suitable for 64Mb and you'll be sweet. Some ROMs are faster than others, some will be packed better, some will be clean - so it will depend on your requirements.

Welcome aboard,
Try Tomal WM6.1 versions 8.2, 8.5 or 8.9
Those are great for original 64Mb Uni
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
i'd suggest my wm5 rom but im nowhere near completion, i recently had to restart work on it after a weird bug popped up.
however, swat4s WM5 is the best i've found. it suffers from the same freezing bug, but its worth the speed incease over wm6.
cheers everyone - i'll try some of his previous ones.
