I changed new lcd+touchscreen to my phone and now there is no backlight at all. I checked all connectors many times but without success. Is there a possibility that new lcd's backlight led is broken? Has anyone have a same problem?
Btw, this is very helpful and great forum .

Sure, there might be a problem with the Lcd,better send it back for confirmation or replacement.
Cheers !
I powered on my phone in dark room and noticed that backlight turns on for a 1-2 sec and then it goes very dim. So, i think backlight is ok, but there is an other problem. Have to check and hope that i can resolve it.
I have exactly same problem after replacing LCD. Any solution found?

There are at least two multi connectors for the screen, one from digitizer and one to main board - so it's entirely possible screen is still receiving power but not signals from main board. That's not to rule out something more drastic but hopefully that's all it is.

Hi Mike.
This is my first post as I've so far managed to cure all my issues from just reading the forum. However, I am now having a similar problem with the white screen.
I have a cingular 8525. It fell, the following day the call and end buttons remained lit and wouldn't turn off, they also wouldn't work.
I soft rest, nothing, I then removed the battey and when I turned it back on, there was a white screen and the buttons below still don't work.
I have read the other posts on this issue, but I need help on exactly what kit to buy to reconnect the screen cable and instructions on how to do it as I've never taken apart a phone before, although I have dappled with other electronic devices.
Your help would be much appreciated, as I am in Jamaica and there are no technicians here who I trust to help.
Thanks in advance.

The LCD screen in bad. You have to replace it.
is it completly white or is it scrambled white with light blue like mine?
see here for my problem:
mine is a kjam too, about 3 years old, im wondering if its my screen thats actually dead or something controlling the screen (cable or inverter etc)
Nobody has replied to my post but i cant believe im the only person who has had this happen to me.
touchscreen not working
my phone was sent in for repair, recently cause the LCD was cracked, when i got it back all was working fine, now the touch screen is not working at all on software upgrade
please help.
Hey Guys, Can anyone help ?
I plugged my phone in to charge overnight like normal and when i unplugged it next morning the screen will not respond to taps. There are no cracks or damage to the screen and it hasnt had a bump.
A hard reset gets me as far as the calibration screen but again, cant do it.
Does anyone either have any ideas or can anyone recommend a good repair place in the uk ??
thanks.

Hi Andy,
If you are familiar with rom flashing you could try it before sending to repair in case it's software related.
Good luck
Arrrrrrggghhh-bloody backlight/touch bricked!
I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts!!
pressing the screen bottom left quite hard puts the backlight back on but it goes off as soon as I take my finger off.
Having done a web search, it appears that this may be a firmware issue, but if so, why, after 9 months of trouble free use, has it only just happened?
I'd be very interested if anyone else has solved this issue. Is there patch or is it a hardware issue?
My otherwise excellent touch is effectively bricked-any help or suggestions at all would be appreciated!
A fix (sort of)
I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement LCD module online and fitted it. It worked, proving that there was indeed an issue with the original. Problem is, the quality of the new one is really bad so DON'T buy a replacement online is my advice. I've now sent my beloved Touch back to HTC to get it fixed...
Hopefully I'll have it back and working soon.
FIXED !
i know this is gonna sound weird but i bought a BENQ_E72 while my touch wasnt working and i kinda forgot about the touch in the meantime. Yesterday i came back to the touch and lo and behold its working perfectly. Screen align is working, taps are going through and i cant see a problem.
Now i have read a thread about the Digitizer filling up with dust and yes my front case does have 2 hairline cracks in it so i am thinking a strip apart, new case and clean and go from there if it does it again. Odd how leaving it to discharge compleely for a couple of months has 'cured' the problem
Just thought i would share this with you

Hi guys,
Yesterday my HTC HD2 turned almost completly black. You must watch realy good to see anything but its almost impossible to use it. Maybe its a software problem and not a hardware problem. The phone turns on normal it makes te sound but the screen is still almost black. It had some issues yesterday it turned off and on a couple of times so i was thinking my phone was empty but that was not the problem.
Maybe you guys have some suggestions?
Thanks!
(Problem solved)

Have you got windows installed or Android?
what about magldr?
Can you boot into bootloader properly and that that normally?
(Power on device while holding volume down button).
Have you tried flashing another rom?

if you can still see images in your screen but barely, put a flashlight up against it and if you can see your homescreen or your lockscreen then your lcd backlight is gone.

Generally speaking, if it's the LCD backlight, it's easier to replace the LCD as a unit. I'm sure you can get an LCD off eBay or something, but depending on your skills, you may find it easier to pay someone to fix it.

The best way to check whether it's a software or hardware problem is to reinstall stock winmo. If the problem disappears, it was android related. Otherwise, your device is most likely faulty.
