[new release] VJBaseHue

Guys n Gals,
I've knocked together a small program further to ZeBoxx's request.
It's used to set the colour of the soft keys etc, by command line/shortcuts/launchers.
eg VJBaseHue.exe 187
will give you a nice purple colour

I am currently testing code by code...I've tried to key in 3 different conbination code...doesn't seem to work though... now am testing the color coding.

Zack, I don't understand. You mean you're trying to find the right hue code by code? The colour wheel on my website might help you, or basically load up any art program, screengrab your theme, and use the colour picker to find the colour your want. Even the standard Windows Colour Picker in MSPaint will show the hue you need.
Post some screenshots in your VGA themes thread if you have any luck :wink:

guess I must be dreaming lol.I was looking for dark blue and not realise that hue does not come with such colors lol...

I was looking at VJBaseHue trying to figure out how to get the two bars 100% black (still no luck) when I found something else. Modifying the SHColor value has an effect on the tray above the soft keys. Normally it is an ugly line across the today screen that forces up the scroll bar at the same time, the icons like wirelles use the space. After randomly modifying SHColor the line dissapeared and so did the scroll bar. Also the icons moved down and to the right to be in the corner taking up less space. It seems strange that a colour setting can change the whole layout of the today screen, do yo know the reason for this VJ?

I don't know offhand Odeean, I imagine it might be some kinda buffer overflow etc..
Let me know what values you use, and if I ever get the WinMob source in my hands, I'll have a look!

Don't worry, I can't copy/paste from my reg editors and the value is too long to be bothered reading and typing I also have not been able to repeat what happened, I only now seem to be able to make it do the opposite. When I have no tray, modifing it brings it back.

some questions about home customization

1) Is it possible to change date position? I would move it to the same bar of operator logo? (as the arrow indicates)

2) is it possible to change the colour of this 2 windows mobile bars? It would be great to make them transparent

with a much colored one like this one on this pic? (yes I know is an iphone screencap )

same here. i think the date looks better at the top left as it was on the diamond. unfortunately, i have no idea how to change this though.

You can change the clock using cabs that were made for the Diamond, not sure about any of the other things. Maybe it's possible to edit some of the manila files.

indeed as you can see on these screens I changed the default clock with a transparent one

Where did you get the cab for the transparent clock?

you cannot make the wm bars tranasparant that i have seen. You can change their color my using a theme in WM (not to be confused with a theme in the TF3D app).

I've the same question's

Changing Operator Logo.
Steps to change Operator Logo:
1.Find 256x64.png file in your windows folder and edit it with your own logo.
2.Replace the original file with the modified one (Use Resco File Explorer).
3.Restart.
Find the attached image, i changed my STARHUB logo to my name.

Would really like to know how to move the date too!! Its much better up the top!

is there any way to increase it to make it finger friendly. 5-7 extra pixels should be enough be enough.

Unfortunately no. One thing that doesn't work: messing around with the system font size. I thought that might increase the size of the bar at the bottom but it didn't work. There may well be a registry entry that would increase the font size and thus the "touchability."

Possibilities
There are several possibilities there.
I don't know the resolution of that thing, but it could be that the bars are stock, the fonts are smaller, could be that it's using a non standard today screen but infact a plugin/overlay/shell. The bars are images saved in the theme files, so it's possible that using an advanced theme editor they were able to create non standard layouts, but either way I'd hazard a guess it's not something you can just do with registry/font/file edits on the device.
through a lot of messing of my own, I have been able to acertain atleast that no one thing you change in the UI is going to stay at just that.
Changing the folder background colour for example (like I set the programs folder background to black and font to white) meant that in my mail app and many others i couldn't read the text because it also affected their font colours.
The highlights on a lot of text boxes inside apps are now black too, so unreadable text, certain sections of various windows changed, etc etc.
So, either way, it will need some theme editing or some extensive modifications to the theme layout.

what I've come to realize, is that the icons and soft keys use the same pixel count as any other winmo phone, it's just that the pixels are smaller on our phones...lol

SPB 3 and standard WM6

hey guys,
wonder if this possible, i love the the new SPB3 but is there anyway to take out the start and bar at the top of the page the standard WM6, cause looks really nice then you have the standard ugly bar at the top
If it is possible can you explain in detail, cause not a great 'Hacker' as such

Even if there is away to disable the start button and take it out, leave the bar with the sound, and signal etc just want to take the start button and wording away??

there is an option to do that in the spb shell settings

making the start button go away isnt difficult, just install wisbar advance and then find a theme that you like

I just have a little "theme" on the bar that makes it completly black and i dont even notice it:

the taskbar is completly standard exept for the battery

found it, in the settings, then spb mobile shell, then system in there is a start override, change to yes, click tick and the fone will restart. it doesnt completed get rid of the task bar, but when you click start it opens the spb menu rather than the standard one?
not completely solved the problem but has made it better. cheers

Adding custom Background Wallpaper

Guys i am trying to add Background Wallpaper on Home screen! No luck atm..
Anyone want's to suggest anything?????
My idea is very basic and easy though, it's like adding a Desktop wallpaper on you Windows XP/Vista/7 via the registry method!
which basically is string -> c:\documents\blablabla\customimage.jpg
On windows phone more probably would be like this
I got the tweak base that you make the black background to silver and added this path but nothing!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Themes\1]
"ChromeColor" value= documents\blablabla\customimage.jpg
What is the value though???? String?? value?? dword maybe???
I will try to create one on PC and deploy it to my phone and see...hmmm!!!

Reason why it doesn't work is cause it's most likely relocked itself. Unlock it again and it should work....

It's covered in tiles, what would be the point?

The point is tha MS disables Background wallpapers and i want to enable them because i want to and it's nice i guess!
