How to get the Wii controller to work on ppcs? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I posted this earlier in the Kaiser forum but i guess it was the wrong place to put it. Well, now it's possible to use a wii remote on your pc to play via bt. is there any talk about drivers being made for ppc? that would be awesome! then we can play emulators and have more fun with them using a wii hand! hope sombody comes up with something for this really soon (even though i never even got the things to work on my laptop, spent lots of time, but no luck:\, anyways, hope the ppc one is better!)

Can I us my Titan as a touch pad for my computer?

I thought i saw something like that on this great forum once, but i can't find it now so if somebody could point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it.
What brings about this question? well i saw this video http://digital.xy.hk/news/?postid=729 where a dude uses his iphone as a touchpad for his shift, and i thought it was really cool and wanted to do this myself.
ps if an iphone can do it, then my titan should be able to do it correct?
I have had a good experience with
PPC Tablet Remote Control Suite
It has a ton of other stuff like remote desktop, but one of its 'modules' is a touchpad mouse control for your computer.
I don't think it uses bluetooth, but I haven't had any problems at all getting it working over the wifi connection.
It says WM6 isn't supported yet, but I used it with a custom cooked no2chem 5060 WM6.1 rom and it worked fine for me.
If you hear of a simpler solution let me know, I'd love to have something that JUST works as a touchpad without all the other junk I won't use.
thanks
Thank you, i will def try this out soonish (two organic chem midterms this week so no phone playing time only library time)

PS3 Remote Play

I have just borrowed my brother's PSP and love the way it hooks up to the PS3, especially being able to switch on the PS3 and share media anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection. I am now seriously considering buying a PSP, but then thought - "is this possible with my Diamond?".
I did a search on here but all the threads talked about using a WM6 phone as a bluetooth remote for the PS3 which is understandably difficult (as Sony use a non standard bluetooth protocol apparently, and they don't share it. But this didn;t answer my questions at all as I don't want to control via Bluetooth, I want to control via Wi-Fi exactly like remote play on the PSP.
Does anybody of any software that already exists? If not, do the excellent developers here know if this is even possible, or should I just buy a PSP?
Tversity can do this may be
that would be extremely cool!!
Let's face it, we're talking about Sony products here so it'll all be done with proprietary Sony protocols and interface (just like the non standard bluetooth protocol you mention) so I really wouldn't hold your breathe on this one. If Sony can come up with a way of needlessly locking people into their own proprietary equipment, peripherals and accessories they always do (and if they can use that to justify charging you a fortune on top of what you've already paid then that's just gravy) and I'll bet this will be no different.
And even if you did, by some miracle, get over that hurdle, nothing would display properly as the video stream from the PS3 will be designed with the PSP's screen in mind, and the Diamond screen isn't even the same shape never mind the same resolution.
Seriously guy, expecting developers here to somehow backwards engineer then redevelop a massive chunk of PS3 and PSP system software is just stretching things too far. If you want this functionality, go buy a PSP is my advice.
Good point, well made. Looked into TVERSITY too, thanks for the suggestion SOLSchweiz but that seams to just be able to stream from PC to any other device, not from PS3 so was worth looking but no good.
Think I will do was I was originally going to do anyway and buy a PSP like you suggest Medulla, but if anybody knows differently please shout up!
Im not sure if this helps, but some devs at another forum have found a way to use the sixaxis controller with windows over bluetooth. I use it all the time on my laptop for wireless play. Im pretty sure theyve mastered the device through a ton of hard work though.
I posted this as im pretty sure it shouldnt be too difficult to map the same signals over to this phone, its just a matter of understanding the buttons (17 buttons on the sixaxis in total)
Remote play connection between the ps3 and psp use wifi/internet anyways there is no bluetooth on the psp phat, but all remote control devices use bluetooth
well cell phones have 3g and wifi and can potentialy do this. There is a sony phone that has remote play intergrated. should get a dump of that device and try to port or reverse engineer it. http://www.ps3attitude.com/new/2009/05/sony-ericsson-launch-aino-ps3/ here is the link to an article about the new phone.

[REQ] SIXAXIS/DualShock 3 drivers...

Hey, everyone,
We all know that it's been possible to use your DualShock 3 w/ rumble and motion support for some time now. But, I was wondering...what about for Windows Mobile? Are there any SIXAXIS/DualShock 3 drivers in the works. If not, anyone listenin', bluetooth and possibly miniUSB support is all that we need.
Second this... the BGP100 is a far cry from the PS3 controllers in terms of usability! Anyone care to have a crack at this?
Wii remote.....
Hey all,
A Chap manged to give us a way to use Wii remotes on S60 - V3 and V5 works perfectly......
I think the wii remotes are hell of a lot cheaper (less buttons)
Even though I have 2 Dual shocks....would rather see Wii remote!!
i would love to see some SIXAXIS Driver too.
That would be awesome!
I love this idea to play psx games on my htc leo .someone can add the sixasis drivers?

Wii remote would be awesome as many projects for pc exist and they shouldn't be to hard to port to PPC for some of the members we have here check out what is going on in these links :
http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/

Let's hope someone get's inspired
thanks guy but i prefer psx controller for play many games because this controller have some buttons. There is a project in developpement ?
yeah.. FPSeCE and DS3 plus HD2 would be a killer!!
FPSECE with HTC HD and Siaxis will be perfect !!!!
Help Genius Developers Help them !!!!
holy crap this would be HAWT
You aren't kidding! It doesn't seem as though it would be very difficult, either...
but it would be awesome, so much talent dev it pretty sure that many of them can do it...
great idea
If you are interested in alternatives to the MSI or Chainpus BGP100 bluetooth gamepad, google search "modded by bacteria" go to the "work in progress" section of his forums, and search for the thread "Re-housed Bluetooth controller". The creator of the site, Bacteria, will be transplanting the innards of the BGP100 into an SNES controller. Previously, he has transplanted it into a PS1 controller. It seams feasible to DIY into almost any controller housing.
true but the PS3 ALREADY is BT... someone just needs to port the drivers to PPC...
EDIT: additionally, after watching the video... the PS3 controller has a rechargeable battery (along with its crazy battery life), and all the buttons you would/will need for things like the PS1/2 emulator, GB/GBC/GBA/N64 emulators... (along with start/select), considering the BGP only has the Start button, no Select button, and only an R1 and L1 which is missing R2/L2...
I want drivers for sixaxis/ds3 too :0
. . bump . .
I got $5 to whoever develops a driver (and while a single person wont make a difference, im sure if everyone who wants to see support for the PS3 BT controller im sure it will add up)
::bump::
Yeah, we REALLY need this, 'cause those Android chumps've got the Wii Remote workin' on their OS. DualShock 3 drivers'd blow their egos back to the stone age.
would pay for that ...

Xbox 360 Controller > NES Emulator > TV-Out

If someone can/has figured this out I'll buy you a beer.
you can use a wiimote..
Actually, you can't:
forum%xda-developers%com/showpost.php?p=7388551&postcount=7 (account not allowed to post links yet)
It is unclear to me whether this is because the Captivate lacks HID profile support, or because as a BT 3.0 device there is some kind of incompatability (I have heard both).

Sorry, never gonna happen. PS3 controller maybe but the 360 controller isn't BT, it uses a proprietary wireless standard.
Why Xbox or Playstation crap is way overpriced!
If you want to use your phone as an emulator that bad you might as well just pay the $10 for a cheapo BT controller. Don't you want something a lot smaller than a bigun PS3 or x360 controller, I'd think something micro would be better suited for travel.
Plus if you're going to be inside to use this (unless your TV is outside), why not just use a PC and out it at 1080 for the real deal? Or is it more for nostalgia
Cool factor only. But it would be neat if I could use the video out to the TV at the shore house and play a game on that. No PC at my shore house:-(

But they also have wired versions that use USB. I don't have a clue about this at all, so I don't know if that's even remotely possible, just throwing one more idea out there. Not as pretty of a solution but if the USB could be sized down to micro and plugged in... Probably not, like I said, just throwing it out there. Would definitely be cool though.

Not really possible because the USB doesn't have host support. If someone could write it into the kernel it would be awesome but then there would be many driver issues to arise.
I would just opt for a mini BT gamepad, I am thinking of getting one and loading some old SNES games on my phone.
Wait... is there an actual mini BT game controller that works? I would simply buy one now. Can you point us?
The zeemote looks complicated, you would think a wireless bluetooth snes style controller without axis controls would be simple enough, although I know everyone wants the ps3 for its controls. But this would be an awesome start.
Hopefully with more buttons than the wiimote so snes games play decent.
I would just use the computer you are posting from for this kinda thing.

Some have modded these with a SNES controller. If I had any soldering skills I would try it.

Yeah, I kinda wondered about that, but like I said, I'm new to Android so I'm still learning what it can and can't do.
Still, a controller, especially wireless would be awesome to have. I have reason to believe from talking to someone involved that the Wiimote may not be totally out of the equation. Even if not on stock ROMs, custom ROMs may be able to make it work. I guess like everything else we'll just have to wait and see.
wiimote wont work with samsung phones. The developer of wiimote controller emailed me and said its because of the way samsungs added junk deals with bluetooth. Apparently they modify how bluetooth is dealt with from the stock android.
Hmmm... Interesting ideas.... I never even thought about a Bluetooth controller, that could possibly be the answer right there. Has anyone ever messed around with one? Would it be easy to set up with the captivate? Basically I just wanna be able to go over to my friends place and be like, "yo dudes, check THIS OUT!" And play old school games from my phone. More of a novelty than anything really.
illl try to set one up tomorrow and let you guys know if a reg bluetooth one will work with our 3.0. i remember hearing that it wont but i'll verify.
My understanding is that the galaxy S phones dont use the standard "BlueZ" stack. which is why it wont work.
Can anyone confirm if that bluetooth controller linked above from DealExtreme would work? So theoretically, a controller made for bluetooth 3.0 devices would work?

It def. works with Android, but a paid drivers pack from the market is required. Now whether it works with the Galaxy S due to the different Bluetooth stack is the unknown part.
I am not sure how deeply the drivers interact with the bluetooth stack, and if they only work with the stock Android stack. I am planning on buying both the controller above and a SNES controller to mod for use with my PC, and phone if it works.
I am having trouble finding a SNES controller locally but I am told that I can get one on Monday from a buddy at my work.
Just checking to see if anybody has made progress on finding a controller for the captivate/galaxy s?
This is probably one of my most wanted features... get that wiimote working somehow.

[Q] HTC EVO USED TO HACK PS3 Ver. 3.42

i have been reading online and found a few of the how to guides on how to do this but unfortunatley the download links are broken i was wondering if anyone here would be willing to put an up to date guide together .... i was also wondering is if you always need your evo conected to the ps3 for it to work or is a one time thing ...also would like to know by doing this would i loose the ability to play games online with the ps3
with any console modding you may lose the ability to play online. I say may only because some games and consoles like the wii dont have checks to make sure you are not modded. the ps3 however i am sure has checks built in and will make it so you have to run a certain version to be able to play online, however there are some fixes to get the latest versions and still maintain modding functionality. This is my experiance with modding the wii but i am sure most still applies across all consoles.
yea i already have the wii mod .... pointless since the wii isnt ever used in my house id much rather have the ps3 mod and if possible to still play online that would be great knowledge
I wouldn't risk playing online with a mod. One update from sony will **** you up. Just like it did for hundreds of thousands of xbox owners. Not only did their live account get terminated, but they also got their hwid blacklisted.
whats hwid?

no it doesnt need to stay connected. the files are out there an there are guides on this very forum and if your running 3.42 your screwed for the moment.
Firmware 3.42 means you're already SOL and have updated too far.
If you were 3.41 you could still use the jailbreak. You just need to be running the jailbreak kernel on your phone momentarily while you start up the PS3. Once it's on you can unplug the phone and return it to normal, but you will have to repeat every time you turn the PS3 off and on.
Also the workarounds for remaining able to play online have been defeated as well, so basically you have to have 3.41 or older and you can no longer go online at all (well do stuff that needs PSN)
