Where do I buy a new LCD w/ DIGITIZER? - P3600 General

I just broke my LCD Screen / Digitizer tonight. I've got it all apart and everything, and I have the generation 1 screen. I'm just having a really hard time trying to find a replacement in US or CAN.
Anyone recommend some stores or somewhere online to buy a repleacement screen?

Replacing digitizer - Any issues?

Has any one replaced just the digitizer on their Wizard? I've managed to break mine after only 2 months of having the thing. I have a new one on the way that I ordered from ebay, but was wondering if anyone had actually replaced one and had any tips?
Is the digitizer glued to the the LCD? If it is, are they easy to get apart? I have the service manual and am happy to take the thing apart, but was looking for tips, advice etc....
Thanks.

Touch Screen Repair

I have a t-mobile wing that does not respond to touch input.
If I were to purchase THIS should that do the trick? Or do I need the whole display assembly like THIS?
just the item for 9.99 im guessing. you would have needed to replace the whole screen for 129.99 IF.....the screen itself is broken or cracked, some damage like that.
Has anybody ordered a touch screen from ebay? Is it hard to install? Is it the right part?
do a search, it's usually easier and less painful to purchase a new lcd with the digitizer already fixed on. They sell on ebay for $55
I would not order just the touchscreen by itself. I tried that and failed horribly. The touchscreen is sorta glued to it. You will need to crack the touchscreen off with a razor and its messy. Then trying to disconnect the touchscreen from the lcd will tear some of the contacts from the lcd. and your new one will not work. Some people may have the skill to be able to accomplish this but I have had 3 cracked screens/lcd's and have not yet succeeded without just buying the lcd with touch for 55-60 bucks off of ebay.

Replace dead LCD screen!

Hey there,
Has anyone here replaced a dead LCD screen (not digitizer)? IF you have could you tell me the symptoms you were getting. I'm going to try to replace mine but I'd like to be sure that it's the screen causing the problem and not something else.
Thanks!
GG
also, could you let me know where you got your LCD from?
You can get them from ebay for about $100, that all i know of though.
Google lms283gf01 and see if you can find some
Actually, I picked one up on eBay for $28. Yes, that was a new LCD, not the digitizer. It even came with the tools to open the phone. There are good instructions around for a complete dis-assemble and it was relatively painless.
I broke the original LCD, so there was no question whether it "failed" or not.
Well I can't see any cracks or anything in the LCD. I think I'm just going to get a Diamond. Unfortunately, no NFSFAN...

New HD2 Display Case?

Hello guys,
today my hd2 fell on the floor and the display cracked. the lcd and touchscreen are still working fine, even in the area where its cracked.
Is there a chance just to replace only the plastic case on the lcd? Or do i have to completly renew it?
Thanks!
Nope, sorry.
There's no plastic display on the HTC, nor anything plastic. The LCD is soldered to the digitizer and normally both should be replaced. They cost around 100$, and the replacement is about 200$ in the HTC center. You do the math, it's the price for a sec hand HD2. Otherwise, you can buy and change the digitizer (costs around 50$). But this is a very delicate operation to do by our own -you have to cut the LCD from the cracked digitizer and do many other things. As someone have said for some other reason "it is an easy operation, but if you have no experience in soldering, do not try to learn it on your laptop motherboard". So, your choice is between repairing it in HTC for 200$ and "repairing" it some other service for 100$, with questionable quality and voiding your warranty.
As you may guess, I have walked that road already. My HD2 was 1 week old. After some sleepless nights (as I was wondering what to do AND because the "perfectly working cracked screen" had cut my fingers) I sold it 100-120€ under the second hand market price and found a new one. That's also my advice to you. I.e. the first one. The second one is to buy a silicon cover for your next HD2.
