is any1 using pRSS reader with the wizard?
Installed it and ran perfectly at the beginning, then noticed that it started to freeze up my screen.
Are there any other free rss readers that have a a today plugin that cycles ur feeds?
p.s. i'm using the 2.17 rom
I'm experiencing the same problems too.
got the same problem with the Qtek9000 (Universal) as well
Hey, I was having the same problems. A few weeks ago Ilium software gave a huge discount on their products. I bought Newsbreak 1.2 for 3.33 dollars. And while I've been using pRSSreader for some time now, newsbreak is simply better imho. There aren't as much options as in pRSSreader, but everything just works great. Even importing huge opml files works way better. Every time I hard reset my device (or upgrade the rom) this is the first app I install. Give it a try, it wont disappoint you. (The todayscreen plugin is more simple than pRSS, but it is way more stable for your today screen)
bye bye
well,, i used to have problems when i enable update when activesync enabled, then I turn that off..
I also turned off the cycling mode on today screen plugin...
I also had the same problems, mainly that the sceen would not come out of standby and needed to be softreset a lot.
It would also never autoupdate unless i opened the main program, which was a pain as i wanted a constantly updated feed on my today screen.
I emailed the maker, but got no response.
I still use it as its the best RSS app i have tried, just a shame its no good for use on my today screen.
same prob., w/o circling works fine
I have been having the same problem; I switched to pocketRss which is a different product; http://www.happyjackroad.net/pocketpc/pocketRSS/pocketRSS.asp
It seems to work well. It updates when it is scheduled (unlike the new version of journal bar that I bought)
I have 2 questions for you guys:
1) Does newsbreak have a today screen plugin that displays headlines?
2) What does anyone use for stocks? specifically on the today screen.

1) yes, but shows only how many articles are new, prss "is better" (but doesnt seem working) whenn it rotates headlinees ...
2) fortunately (unfortunately) dont need stock info- i think journal bar does it - omega softwafe
Omega one is currently on the fritz, it doesn't update when its supposed too. The pocketrss that I mentions scroll through the headlines.
Aquired my o2 exec 2 days ago. After installing Spb software, Today screen is very cluttered, scrolls very slow and occasionally freezes for a couple of seconds. any advise for a fix please?

de-install spb and find another tool to do the functions you need.
had the same thing in several program-combi's and install-order
that bad huh.. i looked around and found Spb connected issues..
thanks
I use all pda soft by spb, I find it great. the problem you mentioned used to afflict also my 9000, but it has been 99% solved after installing the last pocketplus version (should be 3.1.2) which fixes the memory leak and looks like its a lot faster than the others. on the other hand, it is slow while loading the today plugin only after a soft reset or when you modify it, since it has to cache again all the icons, tabs and so on. apart from those events in my 9000 its rare delays are fairly acceptable if compared to an absolutely stable software, which is perfect in my opinion!
My MDA pro was very slow when I had the battery indicator used on my today screen. Removing it solved my problem. Maybe yours too...???
I also use the latest versions of SPB and of course the speed of your Universal will be slightly reduced. You are running some extra programs, but I find it working relativly quick. I still have 22mb of working memory left after a soft reset with all the SPB apps opened. Only SPB diary can take some seconds to load when you haven't used it for a while.
so what do yall think about the two programs... what's the pros and cons between the two..
right now im running htc home and its okay so far but im not sure if I want to install pocket plus 4 on my wing... im testing pplus 4 on my mda...
I like the htc home plus screen is because the large clock, lol, and nothing else. I like the pocket plus 4 because I can tweak the icons, auto hide, minimize it/auto-hide, has the smart scroll thingie, and have today plug-ins as well. I read that Spb Pocket Plus 4.0.1 beta 2 is out, so it's getting even better. In a nutshell, for me, both apps compliment the other. But I'm leaning towards using the Alexk's Alldate app and the SPC pocket plus beta 2 simultaneously.
I use RLCalendar for a large clock and date display. It would be nicer if it had centering and font selection, but it's good enough for me.

Both of them kill battery life

I have noticed severe battery drain since installing PDAVIET.
SPB Pocketplus 4 + SPB Mobileshell + HTCHome
I have installed both trial verisons and guess what... they become one!
Spb pocketplus integrates into the mobileshell, or the mobileshell integrates into pocketplus. Whatever.
The union rocks and loads you of several useful features without loosing any, but, HTCHome is a must on the today screen because of the clock (puma white downloaded) and the quick acces to SMS and e-mail.
I have left the HTCHome with only 4 tabs (Home, weather, Apps and Profiles) and that makes it much comfortable to use. Now the profiles (Normal/Vibrator/Silence) are also accessible from the mobilshell today screen.
The only thing that I would add is the (must have) batterystatus (added the Reduser skin), which shows GSM Signal strength, powerdrain and, of course, the battery level.
Regards,
I changed my home screen, thus losing the HTC Home Plus screen in favor of installing Alexk's Alldate app (which you can see) that displays the time and date in big letters and numbers, and keeping the Spb Pocket Plus 4.0.1 beta 2 in auto hide mode.. I like simplicity.
how do u add the htc weather.exe to the pocket plus???
Iam trying to add the weather here
Hello @ all,
I´m using Pocket plus 4, Mobile Shell, Phone Suite, GPRS Monitor, Insight, Traveler, Finance, Resco Explorer in the Tabs.
All in Auto Hide mode, so Resco Today don´t needs the Memory all the time. All apps are running on my SD-Card.

hello!
i would like to use GSPlayer in HTC Home plugin at the music tab.
i like this player because it has equalizer and it is simple etc etc..
and wmp or htc audio has not got
(bassboost.cab not working on htc herald- i have htc herald )
so my question is: is it possible to use this app in place of wmplayer or htc audio?
thanks,
pulyka
i just say no to pocket plus
I had no choice but to do a hard reset on both my wing and mda.. kept having the same problem with the reboots, and random resets on its own... I might try resco file explorer instead... the smart scroll feature was cool but not that serious for me... and pocket plus was preventing my mda from charging aslo.
I liked lite but when I tried to use pocket plus with the cube....all went to hell. I just reflashed the orig rom. got battery...and added pocket plus. i am very, very happy. I loved the cube, but is seemed mostly for show. i do miss the phone contacts page from the cube though

I installed TouchFlo 2D on my HTC Touch (WM 6.1 / Telus, Canada), and it's a great leap from what WM provides!! I cannot however, access the Internet, Browser, Bookmarks, or YouTube from the associated Internet page TouchFlo 2D provides.
Is there a way to get them working through TouchFlo? I tried uninstalling TouchFlo thinking reinstalling it might help, but that crashed my syncing ability. I had to softboot my phone, and the computer as well several times before they started communicating again.
Additionally, should there not be a solution for getting the Internet functionality working, is there a way to successfully remove TouchFlo 2D ?? I'd possibly like to try something else if I keep having problems.
Can anyone help ??
Thanks,
Karen VK
Did you install Opera, as well as the YouTube app? The links will not work without the supporting applications. You can also try installing M2D Customizer to set the internet widget to use Internet Explorer instead of Opera if you don't want to install it.
Thanks for your response, and sorry I didn't respond sooner (!!) My system had a melt-down so I de-installed TouchFlo, re-formatted my computer, got a new cell .. I'm just getting back to trying to play with it. I'm hoping with your simple response I'll be up and running in no time.
It was frustrating though, that I tried to post my query over a month before it went in, but couldn't start a thread, and the help team wasn't able to resolve anything. Thanks soooo much for being there !!
OK .. I finally started trying to get back to this yesterday (after my computer and cell both crashed) but I'm still having no luck with TouchFlo 2D. I re-formatted my HTC Touch 3050 (Telus, WM 6.1) for the 3rd time this morning, and I'll be re-installing all programs now.
I previously said TouchFlo 2D is great, but it's been frustrating. I cannot use the Internet through the associated tab -- even though I installed Opera as suggested. Now I also cannot access Google Maps, though it is installed, and worked prior to my whole system crashing, and; my phot album won't come up. Oddly though, YouTube worked yesterday (didn't before) before re-formatting this morning.
Is there anything else I need to install to get this working ??
How do I either get Opera to work, or access the internet through Internet Explorer which is already installed?
How do I get Google Maps to work?
How do I get the photo albums to appear?
Thanks very much
Karen
Honestly the best way to get it running is to flash with a rom that has it included. It makes TF2D much faster than just installing the apps anyways. Plus that way it all works and usually the rom also included the tf2d configuration app as well.
Thanks for your help. My HTC Touch crashed again, so it looks like I'll be replacing it. Not sure what I'll be getting, but I may be jumping up to the HTC Diamond (with TouchFlo 3D built in).

Okay, im just curious about this. I've read all over the net (and this forum also) that your X1 is bound to crash one way or another. Sometimes i read that people can have 2 or more crash everyday, which i think is quite strange.
My X1 fortunately never crash up on me. I surf the net, use wifi, listen to music, use the GPS via Garmin, chat on yahoo messenger and even watch a full length movie on it. Fortunately it just never crash on me. Not on a normal use anyway...
Speaking of which, i've tested my X1 also, to see until which point it might actually crash. I surf the net + Activate garmin + chat on yahoo + listen to music + occassional sms in between, and the phone is still doing fine.
It does get pretty laggy at times, but the point is it's still very usable.
here is all the apps that i've installed on my X1 (as in remove program thing):
Astraware bejeweled 2
Astraware Sudoku
Xperia Tweak
Garmin Mobile XT
Google Maps
HTC enlarge start menu
J.S Advanced config
Slick
.Net CF3.5
All the panels
the only bug that i have in my phone is the one where i cant add the speed dial. But this doesnt concern me because i just dont use speed dial anyway.
So im just curious, how does your X1 (if ever) crash up on you?
Oh and one more thing, im still using the R1A original ROM.
mine crashes whenever it sneaks out in the middle of the night and steals a car.
doesn't seem to have got the hang of cornering yet...
I have not updated to the latest ROM.
My X1 crashes when I leave it untouched for a period of time. The battery will be hot and no matter what button I press the screen just won't light up.
I'm trying to update to the latest official ROM now but I have no idea how to use the SEUS thing. -_-'
My R1A crashed about once to twice a day.
What I had installed is pretty much what you had plus TF3D HD as panel from itje, PlumSIP (Chinese input), SKTOOLS, SPB Shell.
It got a bit better when I switched to Daran's TF3D but that had problem of itself. And I started using SKtool's memory reclaim in the back.
Now I'm on R2A and its virtually crash free. I've yet to try TF3D as I'm waiting for a solid TF3D 2 solution as cab.
So al fingers are pointing to TF3D at the moment. Shame because besides being the best eye candy, I've also found it to be the most useful including SPB Shell
im on r2a. mine doesnt crash but hangs occasionally.
ironically its everytime when im showing it off to my frens. sometimes the screen just hangs.
wanted to show a video to my fren today when out of nowhere the video and all other videos cant be played. had to soft reset..

the million dolar question is, do you have TF3D installed on ur phone?
TBH, i'd love to get TF3D installed on my phone, but for some reason i just bound to know that it's gonna cause me problem anyway
Can we safely say that the crash free ROM is actually the official ROM now?
Or maybe someone else use cooked up ROM but still actually run the X1 crash free? leave your experience here...
