Where can I find Multi-IM Application from the AT&T Tilt? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Does anyone know if the new IM application from the Tilt (which supports MSN, Yahoo and AOL) has been ripped? Can I install it on my 8525 which has the official AT&T WM6? I searched this forum as well as the Kaiser forum and didn't see any mention of it ...

Rip it yourself....

On the 8525 Open Internet Explorer and type device in the address field and hit enter. This will bring you to your Media Net Home Page. Select Mail and Messaging then select Mobile IM. Voila.

TyTn & Agile messenger

I have agile working fine on my wizard but it cannot connect on tytn. the internet connection works fine. I get an error from agile saying "cannot connect, proceed to contact list?"
If anyone has this working can I trouble for the installer you used &/or any settings that may need to be configured?
Thanx; Lew
It is working fine in my TyTN, I installed directly from CAB version 3b, download here:
http://updates.am-im.net/AgileMessengerWMPPC.zip
I am using MSN, Jabber (XMPP) and GoogleTalk at the same time.
Thanks for the reply. I failed to specify that it was AIM that was not working.
Interestingly enough I was installing the same version you gave me the link to. However this time it worked fine.
I have run into another issue though... How do I set the voice record button? On my wizard I set it in an older version and it just stayed that button when I installed the newer versions. Now how do I go about setting it?
Thanx again; Lew
P.S. I searched their forums for this, they don't have ANY support for PPC.
I'm using Agile with both Yahoo and AIM with no problems at all...
Can you use push to talk?
I'm sorry, i've never used the PTT button... may be others can help you.
I use imov messenger which is based on the opensource Jabber.
It works great and maintains connections with most of the main messengers.
It is also free.
Paul.
First try selecting Options then Preferences and finally navigating to the Media Tab. If there's not a button that says "Assign push-to-talk button" on it then I think this thread might help as you may have the same problem with versions I encountered. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278714

TtTN MSN MESSENGER

I have just upgraded from the HTC Wizard to the TyTN which is an orange branded device I have removed (stopped) the orange customization, but I seem to be missing the MSN part of windows. I've looked on the windows mobile 5 web site, msn web site, but can't find where to down load it. any ideas?
Thanks to all the great information this site has provided I was able to completly open my wizard thanks to this site alone!!!! job well done!!!!
...Isn't msn embedded in wm5, mine is. It's called: pmsnlauncher.exe. I attache one but don't know if it's working standalone...
I just moved from the M2000 to the M3100 today and was dismayed to find no msn messenger pre-installed.
Seemingly it will not let me install Agile Messenger either, as it says that it is not supported.
I have discovered a link in the files which takes you to msn Mobile but then tries to charge you 10.99 to install it. Is there anyway around this, as I use msn a lot whilst travelling, yet loathed to paying for something I expected for free.
Any help?

You need to app-unlock the 3100 before you can install Agile. Once you've done that, it works fine.
To app unlock it, use a registry editor to set the following registry keys (these are decimal values, use 1 and 40 if you're inputing them in hex):
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 64
For some reason people haven't had much success with other registry editors, so I would recommend Resco's, which I can vouch for through experience.
Yep - installed it on my M3100 today.
Here's a link on how to do it:
http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news2266.html
Follow the instructions exactly:
1) Download and install the WM2002 client
2) Download and install the WM2003 update
presto it works!
I managed to get a pre-registered Pocket MSN by copying files over from my dusty old HP I don't use anymore.
Files copied:
pmsnshared.dll
pmsnserver.exe
pmsnresources.dll
pmsnresources.96.dll
pmsnlauncher.exe
pmsnhotmail.dll
pmsn.lnk
pmsn.cpl
Needed to remove the system file attribute to copy it over though. I guess this is helpful if you have a copy of a pre-installed Pocket MSN lying around that you don't use anymore!

Or just go here and download and install it normally.....

Yeah, but if you use this link you have to pay £10.99 to use a program that everyone uses for free...

Yeap it is, i've been using it since three days now had no problem.
Hi All,
I downloaded Mobile Live and Messenger from this forum, and was able to install it on my Orange M3100. I then hook up my M3100 to my work wifi. I then run Live, and comes up saying "looking for internet connection" It then comes up with the bubble saying connecting to 3G, which I then hit cancel. It then seems to use the wifi connection the syncronise. Also when using it it, the 3G connection bubble appears regularly, and I have to cancel it. Is there any way I can stop Windows Live and messenger using the 3G service, and just WiFi?
thank
Nick

am actually after the hotmail part of the program than the other bits. i copied all the above files from my m5000 to the m3100 when you click on pmsnluncher nothing happens. what am i doing wrong. please note there are other solutions to get msn messager working, but this dosn't include the hotmail setup. ..help
That guy is missing a few files there, just to let you know.
oh great !!!!!!!!!
can't wait for the beta fto end to i can't get the damm thing.
oh by the way you wouldn't know what the other files are would you?
Windows Live Messenger Mobile is still down, with no end in sight. I really haven't had a chance to look at the newsgroups lately to find out what's going on, but I guess I'll have to.
at least i can give Yahoo Go some credit here, thier ppc client program works pecfectlyon my m3100 collecting all my yahoo emails.. let just hope google follow suite with a client version for picking up emails on the ppc.
Gmail supports pop / smtp access, and uses non-standard ports, so you can use pocket outlook to retrieve / send emails on it without problems.

Skype not working

Hi,
I have recently picked up an Orange SPV M3100. I installed skype 2.2 on it and tried to run it. The login screen comes fine, but when I click on "Sign in", it gives me a pop up saying "Skype needs an internet connection to function. Do you want Skype to connect to the internet through a cellular connection?"
When I click YES, I get "Unable to connect to the internet. Please check your network settings."
My internet through IE works fine on GPRS. It is good speed and works excellent. I am able to use MSN Live as well, but Skype doesn't seem to be working.
I've been through posts - where there have been suggestions to check the proxy settings. But there are no proxy settings in the mobile.
Anyone who can help me out here?? Most posts discussed how easy it is to connect to Skype using GPRS and how easy this works. I have been trying for quiet some time to no avail.
Alternatively, can someone give me an older version of this Skype for PPC, which might work for me??

i'm in USA, southern california. i cant choose USA, t-mobile in network, i cant send mms. i dont have internet, i got a plan, "Send and receive any type of message you want, in any combination you want. Text, IM, picture, or video messages" how do i use IM without the internet? i got the msn messenger thing.
can anybody help me please?
i've been looking and searching at wiki, but i couldnt find anything
oh, and i think my atom exec is unlocked already because i'm using t-mobile in USA with it, but i'm not sure, will upgrading it to wm6 change it back?
i wanna know about that too. i used to have a cell phone that i can log on to IM, and chat as text message. Is there an application that replicates that function on my O2 atom life? I have to connect wirelessly to my home internet to chat on IM.
