Just like this topic about LEDs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295729 I would like to ask if it's possible to take full control over the vibration function. I never use the sound alarms, except for my wake-up alarm. SMS, incoming calls, reminders, etc. - I have it all setup to vibrate. I work with sound and music a lot, and I don't like the idea of a disruption because my phone would ring. So the ideal option would be for me to have full control over vibrate function - eg. SMS two quick vibrations, incoming call one long, new e-mail one quick, one long, one quick... of course that's just an example. WM6 already has this nice diferrence between a reminder and an SMS, but I would like to expand on that idea, and add a full control and something like "vibration-ringtones". I could setup one contact to make 5 very quick vibrations, and another one two quick, one long, and two quick... etc. There's a lot of combinations. I feel that this is missing from Windows Mobile. The best possible implementation would be via midi files (interpretting the percussion as vibrations).
So, is this possible?
Have a great day,
NIXin

there you have settings for each alert however for new sms, email, missed call the repeat option is greyed out, how can i enable this ?
I want it to keep bleeping till i realize either constantly more preferrable every few minutes. prefer not to have to put extra software that has a million more functions which i am not looking for. Feel the more apps the more issues tend to arise (purist)
No WM5 does not offer any way to repeat reminders for missed calls, undread text messages, unread multimedia messages, etc.
However I strongly suggest that you try out PhoneAlarm latest version. In addition to repeat alarms it also will provide you with an easy way to define profiles and switch to the desired profile with the click of an on-screen icon.

Hope this helps.

Thanks alot for the tip.
Are there any more skins available other then the ones on the pocketmax website ?

ok phonealarm works good but ...
does exist a "Registry-way" to repeat the sound?
I think that Phonealarm is great, but the pda run much more slow with it.
Why would it be an option if we can't change it?
apReminder plus is the answer. Small footprint, and much versatility. I find phone alarm is too intensive and when combined woith WisBar and WAD everything goes tits-up.
All,
Just moved from the Palm Treo 750v to the Palm Treo Pro and there is one feature I am badly missing. On the 750v, i could silence (both vibrating and ring) an incoming call by pricing any button on the phone. This does not seem to work on the Treo Pro. Is there any hack to make this work? My key requirement is to have the phone on vibrating only and be able to silence the vibrating without rejecting the call.
Any help you have is much appreciated!
Thanks
S
unfortunately those at Palm are a bunch of a$$holes who release bug filled products & really could care less about their customers.
there currently is no fix & at the rate they are moving, i doubt we will see one anytime soon. they really are a crew of stupid pricks & the fully deserve to go out of business!!

This program is not really what you describe you are looking for, but it may get you part way there by giving you the ability to adjust the vibe style / length / etc., or not

"....What is Treo Alert you ask? Here are some of the features:
- Highly configurable program that adds reminders and alerts for various system events such as pending Voice Mail, Missed Calls, SMS, Email and other reminders such as Calendar reminders and Alarms.
- Can be configured to blink led when any of the above listed events occur.
- Can be configured to vibrate when any of the above listed events occur.
- Multi-color/blink rate LED settings
- Unlimited number of vibe styles that can be configured for each type of event.
- Rotating text display for notification counts, date, battery and signal percentage, available memory and Xcast weather.
- Several Xcast weather display options. Weather can be configured for any zip code or country code worldwide.
- Timer to control when events are monitored so you can have it automatically disable alerts at night.
- Each type of alert can be disabled/enabled individually so if you don't want to be notified for Email's for example you can disable it.
- Display rotation intervals and Reminder alert intervals are configurable.
- Multiple today plugins are supported and can be switched at will.
- Voice announce of pending alerts and last missed call

Does not work
silencing calls
On my cdma/sprint Pro, it will silence a call if the ringer is on, but not if the phone is switched to silent/vibrate mode.
Strange. A phone rattling on a desk is almost as bad as one ringing.
Not receiving SMS when the HD is not on standby or SMS alerts not playing has been an issue for many users;
For example see the following threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=499582&highlight=sms*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523128&highlight=alert
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513748&highlight=alert
However, I have now found a method that works all of time (I have not missed a SMS alert now for over a week and that is 200+ texts received)
You do, however, need to install the following software
HDTweak
Pockshield (other screen lock software may also work - but i've not tested them)
Set the following on your alert settings on your phone (this is just what I use, other settings should work fine too)
Vibrate on new SMS
Play sound on new SMS
Flash LED on new SMS (i've set this to indefinetely)
Show message on new SMS
Set the following in HD tweak
Wake on new SMS enabled
Then, every time a new SMS arrives, the phone will always wake up and play the SMS sound You don't have to worry about the keys becoming unlocked if you have the HD in your pocket, as pocketshield will be active and prevent the keys from working. If you aren't around to hear your alert your HD will just go back to sleep depending on your power settings, but the LED will continue to flash to alert you to the missed message.
Hopefully, this little quirk of the HD is now fixed for everyone

PS please feel free to add this to the wiki if you feel it worthy of inclusion
Is there a one-click method or app that will allow me to switch on vibrate (ideally for calls and sms, or also email if it's all or nothing) independently of sound?
Basically I want sound to always be on, but sometimes when in certain places I want to add vibrate.
I've seen some apps that can be customised to switch on vibrate in certain loactions or times of day etc, but my need seems to be more random and it's more of a pain to program that type of app and find that I need to keep changing it, ideally I'd just like a widget that adds vibrate without killing sound.
app called Volume Control allows that for ringer and notifications, but unfortunately no option for sms or email
3 cool sound programs for N1
Try:
EAR *EASIEST* (sits in task bar)
MISSEDCALL - *more configurable* (sits in task bar)
TIMERIFFIC - *auto timed sound/light settings* (runs as service)
Thanks, ear seems the most relevant & easiest to change from one setting to another, but again doesn't allow controlling the vibrate setting of sms and email
Is there anyway to get the htc to beep when there are notifications like email/sound etc etc that are unread every minute or so.
I am thinking specifically when you do not have the phone at you and you miss whatever is incoming. for exmaple, getting out of gym.
I want the phone to beep if there is anything waiting to be read.
S2U2 v2.40
S2U2's most recent version, v2.40, has a new Reminder setting section which allows sound or vibration notification for missed call/unread sms/unread mms/unread email/unread voice mail.
