Hi all!
I cooked my first stripped ROM (base HTC v3.13.406.1) one month ago and was pretty happy with it.
A time later it seems that I couldn't receive SMS. I then try to re-cook from the HTC base ROM v3.13.406.1. I do exactly the same things as the first one.
My RUU_Signed renamed ARTEIMG.nbh on uSD, flashing, resetting, booting and then it stop with the welcome windows and the taskbar on the top (M$ logo with sync, network, time etc.)
If I re-cook from MY first base STRIPPED COOKED ROM on MY ARTEMIS everything is ok (flash, reset, boot, welcome) but the problem is that I couldn't receive SMS with this ROM.
It seems that I missed nomething on cooking.
Does somebody tell me what is wrong!

Lessons Learned in HD2 ROM Testing (Confessions of a Cooked ROM hopper) =)
Here's what happened:
I'd been through at least 20 "Flashes" of about 3-5 Cooked ROMs from the best chefs. I decided I wanted to reflash back to my stock ROM just to "refresh" (in lieu of mtty, of course which I still plan to do sometime). So off I went to download what I thought, at the time, was my stock ROM.
I thought I had a WWE Europe device (wrong for me to assume, I know) because I only had the UK Plug accessory included...
So I download the WWE Europe ROM and put it in my newly formatted 8gb microsd, renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh and started the upgrade process...
HOLY &*%$#@ it stops and tells me I have the wrong freaking device....
Then I thought that maybe, just maybe (since there was pinyin support from what I vaguely recalled) that it was in fact a WWE Asia ROM...
To cut the long story short, I flashed via microsd using the Asia WWE 1.48 (the CORRECT Stock ROM) and have started from scratch... (install HSPL, download Cooked ROMs, Flash, Test AND repeat from step 2... download, etc... you know the drill)
I'm only posting this in a new thread so that others who may run into what happened to me can find it and not panic that they can only get to a bootloader, etc...
I'm off to flashing some more Cooked ROMs... (BTW, I was a XDA2mini user way back, then shifted to an iPhone 2G and 3G for the past 2 years... and you know what, I missed the thrill of Windows Mobile Customization, I must say!)
Happy Flashing Everyone!
Well .... is that a "Confession of a Flasher-holic"?
LOL!!
This feeling is just like the feeling of those people that mod their PC .... mod their cars .... etc.
In life ... the kick or fun of it is the process ....
you were describing normal things which happen once you start modding or in this case flashing

Exactly =) Now I need another HD2 for Flashing and Testing... back to work I go...
Hi All,
I am new to this forum, I installed WM6.5 from T-Mo website, after dooing that I see that TouchFlo3D is not pn my TP2 anymore, also the option for START-SETTING takes me to Manilla Settings. Has anyone else experienced this. Is there a new ROM I can install. Any help will be appreciated.
try installing rom again. it should fix the problem
That ROM is a bit of a stinker. It has doccumeted issues with losing time, all of the time. If you want a stock rom you should install HardSPL and take one of the WWE 6.5 ROMs.
this time i installed rom, my phone is freezing .... i have to do atleast 2 or more resets everyday since i have installed it.
A fair number of people have discovered that re-flashing that t-mo 6.5 ROM a 2nd time has helped clear up a number of odd issues like those.
i switched out my iphone 3g with an HD2 phone, and so far i like the phone itself. except one thing irritates the crap out of me and makes me just about want a different phone. when texting, or doing ANYTHING on the phone for that matter, and i get an incoming text message, the phone completely freezes up for almost up to 10 seconds. every single time. this is quite irritating and i've searched and searched and searched for fixes to this problem. is there anything out there to remedy this problem? or am i going to be plagued with it for an unset amount of time?
Hi guy!
I remember that i have this "lag" in official ROM with 1.66 base, but now in 2.10 ROM the contact was update and it's really faster!
Wich rom are you using?
thank you for the quick reply. my version is 2.13.531.1
here's the full info of my phone
OS - 5.2.21892
manila - 2.5.20121412.2
rom - 2.13.531.1
radio - 2.10.50.26
protocol - 15.39.50.07U
That's really strange! Because since 2.10 i think that the lag was remove!
Then if you can (and want) you can flash your ROM with a cooked ROM!
(You're on TMO official ROM no?)
If you need help to chose a ROM i can help you!
what effects/benefits would flashing with a cooked rom do? i'm new to this type of format
and yes i am. i've owned the phone for only a week or two.
ah nevermind, i looked it up. they're basically custom roms, yes? so i guess the task would be to find the right rom
Custom ROM included lastest driver and update. Many tweaks or mod are cook in so it's works better than a basic cab!
The good Cook ROM offers you better memory beacause deleted some useless files, so fatser and stable for somes ROM. The HD2 was my first WM Phone (iPhone 3Gs before) i was afraid to use a cooked rom and now i'm addicted!
Only advantage so in Cook ROM (if it's a good ROM)

Yes it's like an official ROM but with some Tweak and mod (like Cookies Home Tab)
Personnaly i'm using
Clean EX ROM and Hyper ROM it's a 6.5.x roms but clean EX do 6.5 roms (like officiel)
6.5.x are more finger friendly

All cook rom are good, but i select for you the most popular and after you will be a "pro" you can chose yourself !
awesome! thanks for the help i'll look through those and try one (or some) out. much appreciated!
ive been having same problem lately when texting. but all this ROM stuff kind of scares me a lil i dont really know what im doin, any advice on installing that stuff?
ok so i've tried to flash a rom about 4 times. couple times with chucky, and once with the ManiLess rom and everytime i get stuck. my phone goes through the 4 color screen, then HTC shows up on my phone with the progress bar (progress bar also shows up on my PC), but after a time, it stops responding and i must take my battery out and turn it back on to recover it. the RUU and the .nbh files are the only two files in the directory. i even tried using a different RUU than the one that came with the cooked ROM, but still does not work.
what could i be missing? i think i'm going to try one more time with a different ROM and see what happens

so far in my experience it's pretty straight forward. you have a single .nbh file which is the rom, then an RUU application that should be in the same folder that launches a wizard and you just make sure your phone is plugged into the PC and synced and it does it all for you. but just so far for me it gets stuck.
here's a video that shows a guy doing it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vh7GAx_lZE&feature=player_embedded
clicks accept twice, then it automatically does it. mine just gets stuck at the HTC screen on the phone
Hum wich rom have you choose?
-So first you HSPL your phone (but you already do that so... go next step)
-second you need to task 29 your phone (clean beforme flashing)(by doolop)
-after you need flash your ROM and Radio ROM (if it's needed)
-And you can make an HardReset (after flashing) because some guys recommend that but i never do this and i never have problem!
And have fun!
So wich ROM? IS it possible that you make a short video?

Why SSPL? HSPL is much better!
i just saw HSPL, and that was the next method i was going to try. i'm going to try the black dse one again. the same one you have. i like the darker theme to it
ok i'm giving up for the night. i have SPL 2.10, so i gotta downgrade, right? i'll look into that tomorrow...i've been staring at this screen for way too long haha.
hmmmm...further research says since i have SPL 2.10, there's no way to downgrade to 2.8 or lower, is there? so i'm stuck with 2.10 until an HSPL is released for it (if one even becomes released)?

Blackstone USPL, or how to keep your stock SPL and flash cooked ROMs
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462347
might be work trying another chefs cooked rom or performing a reset on your phone as it looks like the theme may have messed things up
Thks bro, had tried other themes and currently so far so good. Anyway, checked wif some other seniors and confirm that my unit is unstable as it had been forced upgrade to WM6.5.
i tried wm6.5 on my blackstone a few times but its just too slow and resource hungry
hi there,
is it possible to switch to Android from ANY WinMob Firmware, if the phone is free?
I Want to use WinMob 6.5 for some days, just for testing it, but later I will come back to Android.
Now I want to flash the original RUU 1.48, the latest from the download sectoion here...
But I´m al little afraid that it´s not possible to hack the bootloader again, so I have to stay on WinMob...
Sorry, my english is as bad as bull****, but I hope you understand me
Yes u can swap back and forward no problem. 1.48 is a very old winmo rom version, they are up to 3.14 for most carriers/regions now.
ok, that means, is´t possible to swap between ALL firmware versions, included the actual one?
Nice to know, so I can start playing with my new Toy without having sleepless nights
Thanks a lot, you´ve saved my day
The only danger is if you have a tmous in which case only tmous original roms, not regular stock roms.
If your send hey is green, stop everything until you are 100% sure you have chosen a tmous compatible rom.
If send key is white, everything will work.
