Does a hard reset reset the a Page Pool change?

I changed the page pool on my wing to 6mb a couple weeks ago and everythings been running great.
Yesterday I had to perform a hard reset due to some installs throwing my device into a soft reset loop (device keeps restarting).
Will the hard reset (which reinstalled the phone to factory settings) also reset the page pool to its original size? Or is it hard coded into the device now.
I don't want to go and do the page pool fix unless I know it's been reset.

page pool hack is permanent no matter what you do, unless you flash a new rom with a different page pool.

Paul, over at MoDaCo, the same person who came up with the page pool adjustment, also figured out the constant reset problem...

I think it's the DLL that gets installed to update the SD driver causing problems.
Try using a file explorer (Total Commander or Resco) to rename \Windows\omap850_sdhc.dll to omap850_sdhc.dll.old and reboot.

Hard Reset post-PagePool Change Question - Wing

Glad I found this forum, it is very informative...
I used the Quick Page Pool Size Changer found elsewhere on this site earlier, changed the size to 6mb, and all seems well with my Wing. I use SPB Backup and perform daily backups. My question is if I do a hard reset, will my pagepool be set back to default? If so, am I correct in understanding that I would need to restore from a backup made with the revised page pool size, not an old "master backup" from a prior, pre-adjusted page pool, backup file?

Not sure about the second part, but if you hard reset, you WILL need to redo your page pool

Pagepool is written in the internal ROM so doing a hard reset will NOT get rid of this because it is ROM (read only memory). If you write a new ROM to your device (Pdaviet, touch-it, etc) you will have to redo the hack.
After writing this I'm not particularly sure about the accuracy. I don't know how the Quick Page Pool Changer works (if it's different from the long and painful method).

The quick page pool method is quick. haha.
All you do is install a cab, then run a Batch file for the size page pool you want... it's way too easy.

Yea I wouldn't worry about losing the pagepool thing, it's sooo easy to redo

Second question/clarification: I made a "master backup" of my Wing (using SPB Backup) after a hard reset, and after I installed only the "bare minimum" third-party apps I use. No extras. A small backup I know I can use to just get up and running. This backup was created before I did the page pool quick fix. Is that "master backup" now useless, since I have done the page pool fix after creating the backup?

Hi, does anyone know hot to get TouchFlo 3d back to its original self? I downloaded the msn style slider and its taken all the original settings away. It doesant show the tabs pictures etc. Plz help!!

It won't go back even after removing it via Start > Settings > System > Remove Programs?
If that doesn't do it, you're going to have to do a hard reset (complete wipe of the phone). Backup everything on your phone! The only things that won't get erased are the things in the SD card.
To do the hard reset: turn off the phone, then press/hold Talk/Send, End, and Power button at the same time until a prompt comes up warning you about a factory reset. Follow the prompt to completely wipe your phone memory.
That will restore everything the way it was when it came from the factory.

I realize that an instance may occur where using the three-button hard-reset is the only option (device won't boot or blank screen), but I wonder if running 'Clear Storage' wouldn't serve the same purpose? Are there any differences in the desired results or are the two methods of resetting a Rhodium identical in this regard?

surely a hard reset is a bit harsh, can't you just install a different tab slider, there must be a stock 2.1 slider floating around somewhere, i'll see if i have one on my Harddrive, you are using stock 2.1 yeh?
One of these two should work for you try each of them as i don't know what build your phones on
To install Go into settings>today-Settings>untick Sense, then install after install retick sense and you should be back on..hope it works for you dude

I reckon the best paid app i ever got has to be SPB back-up i think its about £20 but well worth it, it doesn't just back-up your PIM(txts, numbers,etc) it backs up everything, i can completely wipe my device and reinstall everything just as it was using this, ive tried there other products but not been that impressed but this i cant live without. Then you can try stuff out without fear of not being able to uninstall!!!

[Q] Blue screen, HTC sence crashed.

Good evening.
My HTC crashed. this is the six time now..
So let me tell you what's the problem, hopefully you guy's can help me.
This happend last time:
I was typing an sms and after a while i tilt my mobile to landscape mode.
After doing this my mobile wouldn't return in normal screen mode.
so i soft rest my mobile.. not so smart move.
the text sounds: "tap here for loading HTC sence".
If i tap this it says: "HTC sence loading" but it will return to: "tap here for loading HTC sence".
I cant go into my startscreen so doing anything isn't an option.
Well i soft reset like 5 times and 3 times i yank the battery out while booting but it will ceep telling me the same thing...
My phone: HTC touch HD.
The rom i use: kwbr topix version 3.6

So if anyone has an idea for me. that would be great!

if just sense isn't working there's no problem, just backup your pim data and any other important files (pictures...) and hard reset the phone.

So if I take all my files from my SD-card and copy them to my PC (or take my SD-card out of my phone) and preform a hard-reset, then is there a chance that my phone will be alive again?
And a question:
A hard rest can be done by: pressing both volume button's and the powerbutton?

a hard reset does not affect the contents of the sd card, but the entire internal storage, meaning the space, where "\My Documents" and other folders are located, including all your contacts, messages...
you should sync your pim data (contacts, tasks, appointments...) either with outlook (that does not save your sms!) or with MS myphone (saves all) or pimbackup (saves all) and save your ringtones and possible photos stored internally, you can backup those files either with ms myphone as well or just copy and paste them to the storage card.
also, remember, a hard reset will delete all the programs installed and their respective settings, so keep your needed cab files present.
setting up the device after the hard reset will take some time, keep that in mind, but if you actually never performed one before, you will realise a huge improvement in speed.

The data standing on my internal storage isn't usefull anymore. It's already on my pc so when I get home, I'll hard reset it right away!

The hard rest of my phone took only a minut, so that was far much better then installing the ROM over and over again!

yes, reflashing the rom does not really change anything, as long as you don't hard reset after flashing. to keep ypur phone clean and fast and not pollute it with old trash, always perform a hard reset after flashing. it is highly recommended when changing roms, and when staying on the same one, a hard reset can solve nearly any software related issues that appear over time

New problem...
My phone is acting weird again..
The problem is the startup now.
It takes around 5 min to get to the home screen.
but when you think its finaly started, then there appears an error:
Run FILEOP
\windows\Menu_FILEOP_Operator.txt
faild.
What can i do about this?
Hardreset again?
(this would be my 13th time that my phone crashed... i'm becomming crazy..)
can anyone help me with this?

1) Backup all PIM data.
2) Preform Task 29(that's the topic showthread.php?t=653604)
3) Flash with the ROM you like
4) Hard reset 1 or 2 times depending of ROM requirements.
5) Restore the PIM data.
6) Have fun

What is the advantage off this app Task 29?
because i don't know whats the main problem, so would this solve my problem?

Task 29 format the main memory of the PPC. Read the topic for more info. From my experience it make wonders

I've tried a reflash and afterwards a hardreset but didn't workout.

Well it worked out perfectly!
for everyone having troubles with the ROM's of Kwbr try to update your radio rom version!
I had 1.09 and now I've version 1.17.
men.. if I had done that earlier!

I get my HD2 from Ebay, but it comes with an user already "ramanagment", y tried to eliminated this account but i can't and perform a hard reset as well but the account still there, what can i do???????

A hard rest should erase all that stuff. Try it again.

No, unfurtanely not, i don't know what;s wrong with this cellphone i did the reset throught the menu and boot reset but even with those the phone keeps the programs, account, settings everthing i don't know why

You're not doing a real hard reset, you're doing a soft-reset.
Do this:
1) On the Home screen's Settings tab, tap Menu > All Settings > System > Clear Storage.
2) Enter 1234.
3) Tap YES to perform the reset, or tap NO to cancel the reset.

If its still there then format the sd card

SD card won't make a difference, you can actually just take it out and not even use it if you want, it has no bearing on settings etc.. unless you are flashing a custom ROM using sashimi or UC or other restoration things.
