Need to buy a QTEK 9000 - URGENT - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

My faithful QTEK 9000 screen died this morning (cracked glass) I have looked on the web but all the suppliers I know have discontinued the device. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one with an English keyboard. I live in Switzerland (qtek.ch have no stock but can repair the broken screen) but can have it shipped to France of Switzerland whatever is quickest.
Many thanks - Colin.

same happened here. You can replace the screen yourself, if you are a bit handy.
I ordered one new LCD-touchscreen from hongkong for 70 Pounds, you can find these on Ebay UK.

Try the Singapore or Hong Kong sellers on ebay. I got mine from Hong Kong and it is fine. Or you can even try COMPUME in Dubai. All of them sell XDA IIs completely unlocked (English ROM) but expect to pay around USD900 for the units.

black xda mini

hey y'all. Im new here, just bought xda mini in HK. I wondering where does this xda came from, becoz the person i bought said that it is not originally from HK. I got problem when I tried to register the IMEI, because the number is not valid. I also emailed o2 helpdesk, they asked some infos about where i bought it and if there are any o2 logos on housing and on welcome screen. Both of cases are ok, there are o2 logos.
Anyway if anyone could tell me how to register it would be great, thanks.
i bought one as well, this is originally from Germany
I am not sure if those are EUR 1 dollar machine - you sign a contract and you can get the machine for just 1 EUR Dollar.
The IMEI may be useful only in Germany site.
The one I bought is in Traditinal CHinease, but I have it changed to Simplfied Chinese, but please note this has void the warranty, you have to change it back to Germany ROM before sending it back for repair.
oh man, i dont understand germans, btw, they flash the rom in my xda too to english, so that makes the warranty void huh? anything goes wrong so far with this device??
nope, nothing wrong with this machine, on the other hand, as this color is rare is this region, people also admire of me holding this machine
it's stable, and recently I just got the Simple Tunes for it, so now it functions as an iPod like gadget!
Do u have e english version rom??? can u post it here so i can download it.. i want an english version rom too. coz mine is in german...
Yes! your Handset is most probably from germany. coz only o2 german is selling xda mini black... while other is selling e silver color.
yeah, i believe this is from german, but it doesnt have any support online, or i just dunno germans. I dont have the WWE rom, coz the seller already flash mine before I bought it.

Wizard Availability in Hong Kong

Hi all. I'm looking to purchase a Wizard when I go to Hong Kong this January.
--
I was wondering if the Wizard is available in stores already [i.e. like WAN CHAI COMP CENTER or FORTRESS]
--
I need a device in English [so the keyboard will be in QWERTY]
--
If it is not available in stores yet then maybe I'll order off Expansys HK and just claim it when I'm there...
--
Any HK peeps out here? Your input will be welcome and appreciated...
In hk, the dopod838(htc wizard) is your only choice.
you dont need to worry too much.
Eng and chi version are both available in market.
You can get one from any store.
Because most people target on Dopod818 pro and o2 Atom.
Anyway, the market place is around $6100 hk dollar.
Do u need any other information?
Maybe i can get you a hand.
Wow HKD 6100! At Expansys HK the Qtek 9100 is listed at HKD 5580 that is around HKD 520 difference.
Would you happen to know where the cheapest English dopod 838 is being sold? TIA

well if the hk local warranty is not a concern, i'll suggest u get 9100 or kjam instead. ( for me they came with much better outlook than dopod )

HK warranty is not really an issue for me. My main concern would be ROM updates I've been to the dopod website and it's all in Chinese, it leaves me wondering how frequent the English OS devices will get their updates.

since dopod is focus on chinese market, do u think it's better to just get qtek or imate ?
yeah. that and the fact that the qtek would be HKD 500 cheaper is really a plus factor
Just placed my order at expansys hk and they did not accept my credit card [maybe because I am from Manila, Philippines] anyway I would like to ask our Hong Kong brothers and sisters... is the Qtek 9100 available in retail outlets? i.e. Fortress or Wan Chai computer center etc? I do not like the dopod 838's look... has anyone spotted a Qtek 9100 in retail stores? Please reply asap so I know if I will get from expansys hk or just buy in a store. Thanks in advance. I will be in hong kong on January 1 thru 6 so any replies before this days will be appreciated! Also store info would be really helpful

bad news for you, there are no retail shop in HK are selling either 9100 or kjam. Btw, why don't send an email to Expansys and ask why they are not accepting your credit card ? ( they seems accept cheque or maybe bank transfer ? )
cheers
thanks for the info! so only the dopod 838 is available in HK retail stores then this is really sad news for me. i've been trying to call them the whole afternoon their line is busy anyway the reason they don't accept credit card from the Philippines is because there is widespread credit card fraud here. This was also my problem last year when I got my imate JAM from expansys hk I asked a friend to deposit for me, before they shipped my order, i thought since i was a returning customer they would accept my card but this is not the case apparently. i asked if i could deposit the money on january 2 and get my order on jan 3 but they have not replied yet. they are a bit slow aren't they!
Not always the best place to buy from but Ebay!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/I-Mate-K-Jam-...ryZ38331QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
425.00 GBP = 5,662.81 HKD
And i know this one is 2nd hand. but always an option
Hi!
@bnycastro: My post has not to do with your problem at all. Did you have the chance to take a look at the dopod 838 "live"? I promise it looks much better than on any picture. I know this since vodafone is selling exactly the same unit here. I found the pictures awful. But as soon as I had my unit in hands I fell in love... So give it a try...
Greetings from Germany

kjam availability
i am from the philippines too. i was able to buy a second hand kjam from greenhills... you should try looking around in that area... you might just find what you are looking for. good luck
how much did you get your unit for? I was hoping to get a brand new one and figured it might be cheaper in hkg. if i'm not to get a cheap one in hk i will probably get from gh as well... may i ask where you bought it? not in the 'tiangge' [bazaar] i hope?

Yep, friend of mine recently bought Dopod 838 Eng, ~$5800HKD. Interestingly they had to open THREE 838's before it worked. the first two failed to boot up.
Make sure you try before you buy!

You can find QTEK 9100 at Shenzhen HuaQuangBei at RMB4800.

o2 Mini S (Same as K-Jam, 9100) for $599 - US supplier

www.importgsm.com
Anyone use these guys? I am trying to decide which version o2, imate, qtek, or t-mobile to buy of this phone. so far it seems as though imate would offer the best warranty. i take it that is why people buy from them. qtek seems to be junk for warranty service (please correct me if i am wrong). t-mobile does not seem to have an english rom - causes me work.
back a few years ago i got an XDA II from o2 to get a cheaper deal than existed on the i-mate version. never had any problems and i think i sold it at a markup from what i got it from direct from britain. now i'm back to purchase a new htc device and am wondering: what more do you get for buying from i-mate really???
hi guys regarding Importgsm they were pretty good on expiditing my order which was a tmobile mda with a qtek rom wwe, which they actually got of this website.
I bought mine for 589 + shiping. they offered one year warranty directly thru them

Boxed black htc magic for sale

Bought a second black htc magic from Germany (vodafone branded) to sell to my poor fellow brits who are forced to only buy the white one. It's still boxed and never opened.
So if you can live with the instruction manual being in German (not that you need it anyway, especially with access to this site) and the charger being eu spec (a simple plug adapter does the trick) then make me an offer.
This will go on ebay soon so here's your chance to have a crack at it beforehand.
Obviously you'll have to change the language setting to English, which I'm happy to help with over the phone or I could do it for you and then send it, your choice.
