I want to buy a 4in1 charger for my qtek 2020.
When I asked to the shop on Internet if it is copatible with XDA II (alias qtek 2020) they said that the XDA II is not the same as qtek 2020  !!!!
What ?!?!
Is it right or I can buy the one for XDA II without problems?
Thanks for the answer,
Uros
I think they are the same phone in all ways except firmware/software.
OK I really need your help. Read some forum but still confused. I am out of town for a business and in a hurry I just picked up my plug for my XDA II without that little adatpor that fits into your phone. Can I just pick up an adaptor for bestbuy for an ipaq? Any suggestion how I can charge this baby? I have the plug but not the adaptor that fits the phone. thank you

go to this page
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/Connectors
and read
Modifying iPaq accessories
The quick answer is NO. The power dongle for an iPaq will fry your XDA II device. The connectors are the same but the pinouts are not. Don't do it!
As Rudegar posted above, you can modify the iPaq power dongle to work with the XDA II, but I don't think I would have the necessary tools to make this conversion while traveling, and I suspect you do not either. I would look hard for a dongle for the XDA or XDA II, as either will work.
:-(
That's what I was afraid of. So there is no way I can use the phone for a week?

Said he is using h5500 to charge his phone. can anyone else confirm that? I also read that xdaII pinout changed. I am confused. I don't want to fry my phone but I do need my phone this week.
PS Is there any local dealer I can walk in and buy a chrager? I am in GA now

As I am, he is using the TRANSFORMER from his HP5500, but connecting it to the power dongle that came with his i-mate. As has been said - don't use the power dongle from an HP/Compaq.
Being anywhere in the US is problematic for buying any XDA II accessories. You might try a T-Mobile store or a CompUSA and see if any have the power dongle or cradle for an SX56/T-Mobile PocketPC Phone.
so plug for t-mobile pocketpc phone will work? here is a link
http://t-mobile.com/products/access...icename=T-Mobile Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition
Thanks
ok
I just want to make sure before i buy the car charger from T-mobile that it will not blow my motherboard. The car charger from t-mobile will charge my xda II phone?
Well . . . will it?
To the best of my knowledge it will. I own an i-mate and have never owned an XDA, but I remember reading that the charger will work.
I keep waiting for someone who has owned both an XDA and an XDA II to chime in and tell me I am either right or wrong - but so far nobody has uttered a peep!
Come on folks! Will an XDA power dongle/car charger/cradle charge the XDA II or not? Personal experience would be reassuring I'm sure.
got it working
I just wanted to let the community know that I went to the T-mobile store and picked up a car charger and everything is charged my phone. I have phone back.
thanks for all the help.

Yes, if you re read my post I said I am using the power part of the iPAQ unit but connected to the XDA II dongle. I AM NOT USING AN IPAQ DONGLE

Rudegar - Thanks for the confirmation for me, for Jazlee . . . and for anyone who does a search in the future! Very helpful first-hand information.
Jazlee - I am glad you are back in business! I can't imagine being without my i-mate for a week - particularly while traveling. That's when you need it MOST! Congratulations.
hey guys,
i m planning to get a HTC universal. well i m not too sure where to get it from,i.e, to get a xda exec or spv m5000. a friend of mine has a spv m1500 and sugessted to go for the spv version since for some reason it is more stable (crashes less). does it really depend on the network? also is there any place i can get it cheap besides ebay...i really dont trust it that much and also o2, orange dont sell it as 'mobile with out contract' devices. would really appreciate some help on it.
cheers
Hello
Do you know if I safely can use the same charger to all of my devices listed below:
HTC TyTN
HTC Trinity
Qtek S200 (Prophet)
Qtek 9100 (Wizard)
Qtek 8010 smartphone (Typhoon, I-mate SP3, Orange SPV C500)
Thanks!
I'm pretty sure you can.
I used the same car charge and house(wall) charger for my I-Mate Jam(magician), I-Mate K-Jam(wizard), and I-Mate JasJam(hermes)
Thanks fone_fanatic
Good to hear.

me too.. it's the same specs I believed.. infact I am using my old charger supposedly for Universal (Dopod 900) for my Dopod 838 pro.. everythings is fine and it has been 2months now...
Hey kipe, welcome to Xda-Devs, Great to have you here!
Back on topic... Just make sure the charger outputs are 5v 1A... Don't buy one of those cheap car chargers as they are infamous for destroying ppc's, buy a name brand (the extra $15 is worth it!) I use a Belkin Mini-USB car charger that said its for a moto razr on the box but works perfectly for my current and previous ppc's, but for some reason didn't work on my imate sp3.
Can someone tell me if the screen connector is the same for both SPV m1000 and XDA II. I have a damaged XDA (screen) but can get hold of a non-working but OK screen m1000
Wot no experts !!!
OK so no answers yet. I now have SPV m1000 and XDA II. I thought these are both supposed to be himalaya yet the screen connector to SPV is very different from XDA. If I look at the detailed pics of the XDA II on the Wiki-XDA it's obvious that my XDA is "normal" and has the regular connector. It is possible that my SPV does not have the regular connector cos it's one of these earlier alpine machines, or is it just that the SPV has a different connector anyway?
Failing an answer to the above anyone out there know where to buy a used (pref pretty cheap) SPV m1000 mainboard??? Ha ha ha you're thinking but any help much appreciated
