I had the same problem. I had to delete the mobile device from Active Sync and reestablish the connection. Worked after that. However, I lost all my contacts when I did so.

uninstall your Outlook 2007
or uninstall Office
What the others said... reinstall it all, remove profiles, perhaps even remove the mail folder on your device. Outlook is nice when it works, but when Activesync stops working with it, it's a PITA.
Thanks for your advice, I have reinstalled Outlook, reinstalled activesync. I really cannot get rid of my personal settings as I have to many contacts, appointments etc, if anyone sles has any ideas, I am at my wits end.

Are you using Exchange? I recently had a similiar problem trying to get my work Exchange email (Outlook 2003) and my home computer POP3 Outlook 2007 to work.
Ended up being a security setting on my exchange server. My OWA security settings were wrong.
If you need specifics I'll tell you what I did.

:?: Does anyone know if it is possible to keep TWO Outlooks in sync with ActiveSync (when one of them is an Exchange server)?
You can keep switching off the sync with exchange to sync with the second outlook calendars but this resets all of the associated sync data (such as modified date etc)...
Any ideas appreciated!
You might want to be a bit more specific...
I currently Sync with Outlook on two PCs and one Exchange Server, here is how I'm configured.
Work PC: Sync- Calendar, Tasks & Notes
Home PC: Sync- Calendar, Tasks, Notes & Contacts
Exc Svr: Sync- Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Contacts & e-mail
This allows me to:
1. Have an offsite back-up of my personal contacts.
2. Have ready access to all personal & business appointments everywhere and have the info backed-up offsite.
3. Have a dedicated e-mail address that only goes to my phone via Push e-mail.
Works great for me.
Exc Srv- Contacts/ Calendar/ EMail/ Tasks
I am trying to connect to another Outlook instance @ work just for the Calendar and Contacts to keep them in sync.
When I select those in ActiveSync (the Work PC) it says that I need to uncheck the connection to the Exchange Server...
Any ideas?
Kyphur, do you have the problem that when you sync with your PC, it tried to reach the exchange server first and takes forever (due to teh fact that GPRS is disabled during activesync). That is the problem I had as well as what zb6673 is saying.
I owudl love to get this worked out becuase I got addicted to push email and also like the idea of an offsite backup

I am using the T-Mobile US 2.26 OS Rom (AKU 2.3) with ActiveSync 4.2
When I am connected to my PCs, Activesync on my PC connects to the Exchange Server (and the status is displayed in Activesync on my desktop).
I wonder if my problem is that I'm using teh free mail2web. I don't think it allows pc's to connect to it. Thanks for your help, I'll do some more digging (or setup my own exchange server at home )
So you are NOT really connecting to two seperate instances of Outlook (for example you would have both the Calendar for the Exchange Server AND the calendar for the local PC checked in Activesync).
I found a solution in that the PC I want to keep updated I can use Laplink PDAsync...that seems to work...I'll have to see if the autoarchiving from exchange works if the records are not "touched" by PDAsync...

I'm using mail2web free account also. It won't allow MS Outlook to connect but an Activesync connection is an Activesync connection...
well I gave mail2web another go today. It worked perfectly until I unplugged my phone. The next time (and every time since then) Activesync on the PC hangs while "looking for changes" after it finally times out, I can sync by clicking teh sync button on my MDA. The pc keeps saying "connected - synchronzation error"
So its working, but its a pain waiting for the PC to time out everytime I need to sync.
wella s soon as I typed that it started working correctly, then hung the next time. oh well.
I used to skip all PUSH related posts because before i didn't have a data plan. Now that i do i'm trying to get it to work.
I set up an account with mail2web, put the settings on my phone and i'm getting an error saying The server cannot be reached in activesync on my PC.
I noticed it won't let me sync my outlook emails (two hotmail accounts and one gmail account) AND the mail2web exchange server. It's either one or the other. I'd like to have access to both, or is this not possible.
I gave emoze a shot but didn't like how it'd wait for outlook to sync then push those emails. If anyone can point me in the right direction as to where to get started and what to do that'd be great!
I have a question in the same vein.
I have recently been given access to an Exchange account on my work server.
I would like to be able to sync all of my accounts together. (Outlook at work> outlook at home> mobile outlook.) Mainly I just want the contacts and calendar functions.
The dilemma I am facing is that when I try to sync outlook with my laptop, it tries to find the exchange server (which for the life of me I can not connect to with my laptop). Is there any way to bypass this?

kyphur: How do you do this. Using ActiveSync 4.2 when you have the exchange server defined (for contacts) if you try to pick contacts on your home or work sessions it says you can't do that while exchange is defined for contacts.
What I want to do is similar to what you are doing so I would love a solution. I have exchange 2003 at home so my home outlook is already sync'ed with exchange. What I want is my outlook pst at WORK to get its contacts from the PDA. The only way I can do it now, is remove Exchange contacts, turn on WORK contacts with the PDA have it sync and copy over; then take OFF WORK contacts and put back Exchange contacts, which is a crappy process to have to keep doing when there are changes.

Maybe the saving grace for me is that I always configure the Exchange Server after I have the two PCs configured to Sync.
I am currently using ActiveSync 4.5 Beta but I have been doing this since AS 4.0.

Thanks for replying...
Unfortunately its not working for me. I removed all the sessions, re-added Work and Home with contacts syncing... then added the exchange server and it will not allow me to pick Contacts for syncing with the following error...
"You cannot sycnhronize contacts with Exchange Server because it is already synchronizing with Work PC. To synchronize contacts with Exchange Server, clear the contacts check box for Work PC, and try again."
Did you possibly have to change some registry/etc on the PPC to get it to allow this? Are you running something like AKU 3.2 that maybe allows this type of syncing?
I am also using ActiveSync 4.5Beta but it looks like its a problem more on the PDA then on the desktop.
Solved!
I had the same problem.
I've found a solution in the newsgroup microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync.
Here is the link:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...read/3c269ef3f5c96321/48c16c74400cb034?tvc=1&
My prerequisites:
* MDA Pro ROM-Version: 1.30.113 GER
* Two PC's with XP SP2, Outlook 2003 connected to two different Exchange 2003 Servers.
* ActiveSync 4.2.0 (Build 4876)
1.Change the following registry entry on the PocketPC
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\
EnableNonLocalCrossPollination=1 (DWORD)
2.Soft reset the PocketPC.
3.Change the options (appointments, contacts, tasks, ...) in ActiveSync on the PocketPC. Note: It is only possible on the PocktePC!
4.Connect the PocketPC to the PC and you're done.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
UMH

Try to delete your device in ActiveSync and install new user.
many thanks for help.yes i did but it didnt help.i uninstall all office 2007 and active sync than i installed office 2003 and act sync 4.5 but still it doesn't work.i thought maybe firewall issue.i switch windows firewall but no luck.there is no extra firewall software on my laptop just windows sp2 and orginal windows firewall and avg free e
ition antivirus have got..what can i do?thanks in advance.
I have this problm in the past and just delete your device. When connect, MS Outlook should ask the profile you want to connect and creat a new profile with an other name. This way for me, it worked!
i will try that thanks for helping me.
Dear Folks, I am having a problem Syncing.
It has worked fine for about a week - but it will now not Sync. Additionally, every time I try to Sync the HD2 puts some 20+ entries on today's date in my Outlook 2003.
Frequently, when I try to Sync it will crash Outlook.
I have uninstalled all "Partnerships" on HD2 and PC. I have uninstalled the ActiveSync software on my Win7 (64nit) and reestablished the partnerships all without success.
If I do not Sync with the Calendar, it will Sync OK, without crashing. However, if I add Calendar to the Sync objects, it will not complete.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
ANDREW (Yateley, UK)
cable sync or bluetooth??
bluetooth with many entries causes problems sometimes (for me)
Activ Synch
I know it sound silly but do you find you can sync with one machine but after synching with the other it will not work with the first?
On win 7 before connecting try opening ActivSynch on the mobile, clicking options and de-selecting all items. Click OK and the re-open options and re-select the sync items. OK again and connect to your pc.
For XP when you have connected the phone open activ sync on the pc and de-select the sync items. OK and then go back in and re-select before ok'ing again.
I know this sounds long winded and is a pain to use but it seems to be when you are synching to 2 machines rarther than just one. I tend to suynch at homeweekly and work daily!

DJ
Try running compact on outlook data files. (Tools - account settings - data files - double click the data file(s) to open properties and click compact now.)
Also worth running a scan for errors on the .pst file.
Theres a how-to HERE
Hello
Think about your firewall, that can also cause the problem
Waiting for network
I'm having a similar problem when trying to sync with Exchange 2003 SBS SR2.
Emails and contacts are fine and sync well as long as I'm not trying to sync calendar events. As soon as I check the box for calendar events I get an error, although it's not the same error code as the original poster it's the same result.
I'm running WWE 1.66.
Dear Folks,
Now working - I had corruption on my PST. Used "samsamuel's" idea and then upgraded to Outlook 2007 and then archieved all old emails and calendar events older than 14 months.
Now works!

Hi all,
Got a question/problem. I have my HD set up to receive email thru an exchange server but only to get the email. I still want to sync my contacts, calendar, etc. with the info in my desktop outlook. In the activesync window it shows microsoft exchange with email, and windows PC with contacts, calendar, notes and files but it doesn't seem to sync the info with the PC and only the exchange server. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks,

If you run Activesync, then select MENU, then OPTIONS, you should find a page where it details which type of information is sync'd, and with what device. You can then UNtick the items you don't want to sync with your Exchange Server, and tick which items you DO want to sync with your PC!
I'm not by any means an expert on Exchange Server, or ActiveSync, but I have something similar setup on my HTC Trinity.
That's the problem. I have only email checked in the exchange section and have the calendar and contacts and notes checked in the PC section but it seems to ignore the PC section selections and syncs all the exchange stuff even though it's unchecked.
Thanks,
Ho'okani
The other problem is that when I set up the exchange sever and hooked it up to my computer, it deleted all the contacts, calendar and notes in my device. So now I'm trying to figure out how to get all that info back on my device and still use exchange to get my email.
Thanks,
Ho'okani

Hmmm! A tricky one! Just to test this, I setup my HD to sync email only with my companies Exchange server, and it synced quite happily, and didnt delete any other data (contacts etc.), which are still set to sync with my Laptop. I then tried a sync with Laptop and it synced those items (contacts and calender) and gave me no problems at all. (The only thing it DID do was enforce my companies security policy on the HD - which is an enforced PIN entry every hour of non-use. This is easily overriden by a Registry Hack anyway).
So to answer your question, I am afraid I do not now why you are sufferring this problem, as I cannot get it to occur on my HD - perhaps there are differences in the ROM you might be using - my Radio and ROM version details are contained in my signature (below) -- are yours the same?!
it is weird. I've gone so far as to delete the exchange server, delete the device and try to set up the partnership again and I still can't get my contacts and calendar back into the device. The exchange calendar items still remain on my device and no contacts.
Thanks,
Ho'okani

I am right to assume you also have exchange mail set up on your laptop too? I have an exchange account set up on my laptop to get mail from the exchange server also.
I got my contacts and calendar back on my device, but I had to delete the exchange account on my laptop.

New guy here. Greetings to all.
I recently had to change my laptop due to hard drive failure. I managed to recover most of the data and exported all my settings.
After I installed outlook 2007 I imported all my settings and emails. I tried to sync with windows live, but no success.
I found some info saying I had to install 'outlook connector'. I did so, but still no luck. I did the error check with outlook, no probs detected there.
After a while I realised that my HTC could not sync with outlook either. It said it had synced, but nothing had changed. I reinstalled activesync, no luck. I reinstalled outlook, no luck. I reinstalled outlook connector, no luck.
I'm not keen on outlook and use windows live instead, but I am sick to death of windows no allowing me to use windows live email, calendar etc with activesync. Is there any programme that allows importing of outlook and 'live' data, syncing with windows live and can sync with my HTC Touch HD?
I've spent ages trying to find solutions, but I'm not the best at this sort of thing.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
