Hello,
I am a newbie with Rom-Updates.
I have a SPV M3100 with Orange-Branding. It is Windows Mobile 5 installed.
I want this:
- I don´t want to have a branding. A original HTC will be fine
- I want Windows Mobile Professional 6 on the device
How can I make this. It will be fine when you can help me.
Helloand welcome,
How much reading have you done on this forum so far? The wiki is a very good place to start.
It's really important that you read up as much as possible else you might make a serious mistake and damage your phone.
Feel free to come back with any questions after you have dne your homework.
All the best.

Download SoftSPL and copy it to your Hermes
Download the WM6 ROM in the WIKI for HTC (Shipped WM6 ROM link)
Connect your device via ActiveSync (hopefully you have a WindowsXP PC???)
Run the SoftSPL on your Hermes - your phone will go in BOOTLOADER MODE
Run the HTC WM6 ROM UPGRADE UTILITY on your desktop
Wait and PRAY ...
The job should be done in 10 to 25 min
You also could CID / SIM unlock your device first with HardSPL (Hermes_Unlocker_3a) but that would be permanently. SoftSPL works quite well and it is only temporarely!
Please, if you have no clou about what all that flashing and bootloader crap means: FOLLOW THE ADVICE IN POST 2 - READ THE WIKI !!!
BTW: even the HTC ROM has branding - its own HTC logos and they do not really look cool either! Next to HTC changes phone dialer skin and connection manager skin to an ugly green color - I am not sure if you would like that more than the network provider branding!
If you're new to all this flashing and tweaking I would recommend that you stick with your current network providers ROM and only upgrade to version 6! It might be quite difficult for newbies to get all their crap running again, such as MMS, WAP, GPRS and so on ... !

Goodmorning,
I have one MDA VARIO (UK), where can I find the I-mate K-jam ROM Freeware (English Version)?
And it’s very difficult to install this ROM in my MDA VARIO? (I will must first Back Up my old ROM), how becomes this?
I hope to help me...
Thanks
Hello molf48,
In the ftp there is the rom you want (K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship.exe).
For the other questions, i'm sorry i don't know the answer/s.
I hope some1 guru will help.
you don't need to backup your rom unless you plan to revert back to the original rom in the future. This might or might not be needed in case of a problem with your phone and asking for a repair during the warranty period.
The steps you need to take are:
a. READ THIS FORUM and also the WIZARD UPGRADE forum - take 1 hour of your time and read read read... many people have upgraded.
b. Unlock the Vario and also the CID - using the Lokiwiz utility - read before you unlock - read a lot until you understand what to do.
c. Donwload an I-Mate rom and simply install it by double clicking on it... however like always - READ READ READ
Thank you for your questions and for your time,
Where I can find this ROM? I will go to Google and put the FTP (K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship.exe)?
But can you tell after me with simple steps how flash the new K-JAM ROM in my MDA VARIO?
It’s my first PPC and I don’t know how?
Thanks you
I will answer you even though it is clear that you are not reading the forum.
Once you have unlocked your device using the lokiwiz - upgrading is very simple - you just activesync your device (connect it via usb to your computer - while microsoft active sync software is running - make sure you have the latest one), make sure you have enough battery in your device (it;s best to have 90% or more left) and then simply run the I-Mate upgrade file. And... wait ... and follow the instrucitons on screen.
If my explanation is not clear enough then I suggest you read. It's not fair to help people that just simply won't read. I can assure you that all of what I have said above is written in a much clearer way in the fourms.
Good luck and READ.
First I want to say sorry!
I have troobles to understand how to install it on my French HTC P3300 .

Sorry for what? Normally it is not necessary to open a new threat for any question that you might have, just join the different threats about a particular subject.
I guess you are new to all this upgrading stuff. First of all, and most important, is to find out whether your device is cid-locked or not. I think that it is safe to say that when you got your device through a telephone provider, like Orange or T-Mobile, at a very cheap price, then the device is locked and you should have it unlocked before flashing any ROM (except the official ones that you can download from your providers site). When you bought your device retail, at the full price (the Artemis is sold around 500 euro's), then the device is not locked.
Upgrading itself can be pretty straightforward: just establish an ActiveSync connection, run the <ROM name>.exe from your pc and follow the instructions on your screen.

Unfortunately, no, not really. On older HTC models you could find out by running the mtty tool, but it doesn't work on the Artemis. I read somewhere that on our device that whole locking (and unlocking) method is quite different than on other models. That is also why it seems so hard to develop a free unlock tool for the Artemis.
The only way you can be absolutely sure is by running the unlock tool from imei-check, but they will charge you for it.
If you just THINK that your device might be unlocked, then I would not recommend to try flashing any other than an official ROM. Of course, it is your choice and you might want to take the risk. That risk is that your phone will become 'bricked' and won't start normally. The only way out of that situation is returning it to the seller to have it restored. Some people with a bricked phone however are able to restore it themselves with the original ROM, so make sure that you have that ROM available. Some original ROMs can be found on the internet, but not all of them.
sorry but you said

Andreazzo,
Your Artemis, does it have a logo on the body. A logo from maybe T-mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2 or whatever telecom provider?
If yes, the you shouldn't flash your device with v2.00.02 PV for HTC Artemis ( Crossbow Style ), because the chances are that you will brick it.
If your P3300 only has the HTC logo, then it is fully unlocked and you can flash whatever rom (flavor) you want for the Artemis.
So be aware of the fact. The life of your P3300 is in your hands.
This it is not probably true information. This it is not to end rule
My Artemis he had only logo on body. The logo of start take-off was the only HTC also. No trace T Mobile Orange O2 Vodafone. And I have brick. :{
I tried flash by bootloader however still announcement INVALID ID
Follow for voice grun. get rid (remove) CID - will not it be dust brick as I.

Is the SEARCH button broken today?
All I'm looking for is a quick WM6 look-a-like theme, rom, or skin to make my HTC wizard (att) look like it has a WM6 look with out ****ing it up. So if there's something out there that's simple but still can give the full effect, please send it to me or let me know where to get it from. Thank you.
EMAIL me at: [email protected]
just reflash it with one of the roms available and get the real wm6 instead why make it look like wm6 if its not?
as long as it is CID unlocked then it should flash fine.
install this one, just choose which file hosting site link that works, there are three to choose from
http://rapidshare.com/files/55105496/TNT_5.0_Wizard_Professional_HTC.Home.zip
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G7BBBSLZ
http://www.sendspace.com/file/r2aebc
from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328917
this rom is a lot better than wm5 and includes a lot of built in stuff that saves installing lots of apps
Up to you if you do try or not
if your device isnt cid unlocked it will just fail at 99%, but as it only takes 10 minutes to flash i wouldnt be bothered about it.
Make sure you backup the phone before you try as you will lose everything on the phone
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways if you aren't lazy read the forums. Read the WIKI. If you have a Wiza-100 , Then if you can read and follow instructions. You should have no problem Upgrading your phone to wm6. Learn about Cid unlocking your phone. then you can download wm6 to your phone.
I was going to buy a new htc phone. Was tired of my old wizard. so i decided to try wm6 before i bought a new phone. And since upgrading i dont see any reason to buy a new phone.
Running Touch No Evil.
can someone provide me detailed information about xda o2 orbit rom upgradation from wm5 to wm6
thanks
What do you want to know about it?
You fill the details in on the website, download the rom and run it. It will wipe all the data on your phone as well

I think I'm either in the same boat as Chappad or at least on the sake river; I'd like to upgrade from WM5 to WM6 as I'd also like to flash Touch Flo 3.0. I've been banging around the WM site for a while now and can't locate the file to download WM6! Where is it or am I just not seeing what may obviously there?
The other thing I am really hoping for is for someone to bless the newbies with, oh, maybe a tutorial on how to flash a ROM like WM6 onto a device like, I don't know, like a Artemis/Orbit and then to install Touch Flo 3.0 on it.
That would be sweeeet.
Seriously.
Try this site for an "official" upgrade to WM6
http://www.my-xda.com/software_updates.jsp
or you can do a search on this website for other "cooked" ROM's

I just tried it and you need a password to log on, have you got one to use?
Otherwise you can use the link I gave previously which is an Official upgrade for o2 Orbit which is what he first poster in this thread wanted

OK tell ya what, pick a ROM that u want to put on your Orbit n I'll tell ya what to do. How's that sound?
This. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371182
If this works out and, with your help and guidance it's stable; I will Paypal you a "Thank you". You have my word.
Why not do a "How to..." thread on the Artemis/Orbit forums here?!
Thanks,
Steve
www.clematisimages.com
So, Meschle...or any of the other Gurus around here; How about a "How to..." setting up a Artemis/Orbit to run WM6 and Meschle's Touch Flo? I just wish I had the know-how to do it myself!
Steve
Ok ya ready for it steve.... this is gonna blow your mind! (nah only messing, its so feckin easy ya'll shoot yerself).
1 - download the .zip file of your choice.
2 - extract the .zip file to a folder somewhere
3 - connect your Orbit to your PC and make sure it Activesyncs OK
4 - open up the folder you just extracted, run "STEP 1 - activesync then uspl cid unlocking.bat" - this will unlock the SPL and CID on our Orbit so you can flash a new ROM to it.
5 - Once thats done OK and your Orbit has reset, make sure to check that your SPL is now 1.11 (do this by resetting the Orbit and on the very first screen, in top left corner in red font it will display a few things, on being SPL)
6 - now reconnect your Orbit to the PC and activesync again
7 - and this time open the extracted folder and run "STEP 2 - activesync then flash artemis touch rom.bat" - this will bring up a screen asking to make sure battery is above 50% and things like that. Just follow the prompts and update the new ROM. Your Orbit screen will probably go white with a progress bar, thats fine.
8 - Once this is showing finished Ok, you should ow have a fancy new ROM.
BEAR IN MIND THIS WILL WIPE ALL OF YOUR PHONE DATA, MUCH LIKE FORMATTING A PC HARD DISK WITH A NEW OPERATING SYSTEM. SO MAKE SURE TO BACK-UP
Hey guys,
I'm pretty sure that this question has already been answered but after going through many threads, I still don't get it, haha.
I have got a MDA Touch Plus (Htc Touch Dual) from T-Mobile UK which is set with Windows Mobile 6.0 (version from 2008, the oldest one I believe). I'd like to update it to WM 6.1 or above (6.5 ?) but I have no idea how to do that.
I tried to get the official version of WM 6.1 from the htc's website, it said that the software wasn't suitable for my device.
I managed to download it anyway using another HTC Dual Touch's serial number but I don't feel confident trying to install it when the website stated that it wasn't suitable.
Here are my questions then:
- Is there a risk of damaging the mobile phone if I try to install the official version that wasn't apparently suitable for the mobile phone ?
- Where can I get a version of WM 6.1/6.5 that will work with my phone ?
- Is there a guide to install it ?
- My phone is unlocked so I can use my Orange's Sim as well, by updating it using an unofficial version of WM, will the phone stay unlock ?
I apologise if my questions are quite silly but I haven't got any experience in customing ROMs and all that kind of stuff ^^"
Many thanks,
Tomas
EDIT: I found those threads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2778832#post2778832 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355730. The step by step instructions are quite straight forward but still, without a WM 6.1/6.5 ROM, I won't be able to use my phone, right ?

I found some interesting stuff on how to proceed, I'm just not really sure of what I'm doing.
Thanks again
