ATI Image on? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I've seen in a couple ROM's this "ATI Image on fix". I searched and didn't find anything. Is this some kind of video driver for the Hermes? If so does this make watching video's smoother and does anyone have a link? Thanks.

Video?

Thanks in advance for the help. I have recently returned to the PPC world from Blackberry. I remember on my 8125, I had a program that would play videos of most formats. I can't seem to find this program and don't even remember what the name of it was. Can someone recommend a good program to watch videos with? Mostly avi, mpg, etc..
TCPMP
Hi Rich.
It was more than likely a freeware app called 'TCPMP' (previously 'BetaPlayer'), which is a brilliant piece of software but has now been discontinued. The last 'official' version was 0.72RC1 which you can find here. You will need to find the various plugins, and will more than likely have problems using it at first due to the ATI image processor, but there are threads in this forum that will help you along
Alternatively you can buy the new version, rebranded 'CorePlayer' here.
Hope this helps.
Andy
@thecresta
hi would care to elaborate more on what you mean problems with the image processor? Also do you know if the commercial version "CorePlayer" addresses the issues? I appreciate your time and help/advice, thank you.
Regards.......
Hi Kwues,
This thread will tell you more about the Hermes ATI Imageon issues. Basically, the best fix is to use RawFrameBuffer, and as far as I know CorePlayer has similar issues that too can be fixed (I have never used it myself). The linked thread goes into far (far) more detail...

WM6 Flash player/lite Htc touch

HI,
I want to start itask, but there comes a mistake. I need a flashplayer, but the version 7 did not work. What can i do????
Is there a Download for Flash Lite 3?
Flash Player for Wm6?
Help me please..
Flash player
I have the same problem....htc touch....
Wow, rhov23 talks about this in the very first post of the the iTask thread, which I'm sure you've read all the way through...
I won't tell you what program you're talking about because all that will do is discourage searching in the future. I pointed you in the right direction, go search.
Hi Azimuth , I have been trying for months to get flash player to work, I tried Htc streaming media player, Vtap, as well as Tcmp. I wasn'y happy with any of them..I just want my Pie to be able to play flash files embedded into the web sites. I tried to search the post you mentioned above but I still don't understand... is it the one with 108 pages? If you can, can you make it a bit clearer for me? I don't understand what iTask is as I am a neewbie at these moblie applications. Were you referring to this iTask download? It doesn't seem that this is for me. Thanks for your post but I am still lost. I found another post but it was way to complicated for me to change the registry, etc. Hope you can help.
Thanks in advance,
Shelley
alright, even though OP doesn't deserve to be told what the application is, what he was looking for is Flash Lite v2.1, in order to use iTask (btw, READ THE FIRST POST OF ITASK, IT IS TALKED ABOUT).
What you are looking for is currently impossible. There is nothing that will show embedded videos from places like YouTube (embedded as in right in the browser), except for Skyfire, which is just slow and choppy so it doesn't count. The closest thing is FlashVideoBundle 1.4.4
That's all I'm telling you, you're going to have to search for it (searching is easier than making a new post/thread, keep that in mind).
wm6 flash player
Hi Azimuth, thanks for your reply. I have already tried tcmp with the flash bundle you mentioned, but was not satisfied. I am not particularly interested in playing youtube videos or being limited to the sites outlined in that program. You said what I am looking for is impossible but if it worked, wouldn't adobe's flash player 7 for ppc do exactly what I am looking for! Play flash files embedded into web sites? Unfortunately for some reason it loads but doesn't work. I appreciate your input very much and believe me I have been searching to the point that I see double...lol. Take care and if you have any other insights please do not hesitate. Thanks again, Shelley

What you want is not possible.
Technically embedded Flash works with Flash Player 7, but the problem is Flash Player 7 is so outdated, everyone uses more advanced versions of flash, and therefore, they do not work on our phone. There is only one website that I know of that works: homestarrunner.com
skyfire works perfectly on my phone...not choppy at all and will play everything i have thrown at it so far
Thanks
Well, I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it. Thanks for clarifying things as well as your insight and suggestions. All of this was very helpful. Sincerely, Shelley
What a waste of time
Why would take the time to reply to a message for legitimate question and tell them to run a search. Most people have ran searches and not found anything and that's why they are posting a thread. I for one have problems with finding a flash player that works. At one point in time I found one for my touch (running WM6.1) then did a hard reset and can't find it anymore.
I have tried FlashvideoBundle, Adobe flash 7 for ppc phones, Streaming media and others with no luck.
With WM6 flashvideobundle was awsome. Skyfire is decent but doesn't have the option to save videos or play them in TCMP.
Any help would be appreciated, but if your gonna tell me to do a search, don't waste your time (I search every day for about an hour at work). Seems WM6.1 is killing me.
Flash for PPC doesn't work any longer, because of what Azimuth21 explained
there are 2 flavors of flash,
- Flash Player, which allows you to run swf files form the phone
- Flash Lite 2.1, which is used by the/a browser
Adobe has created a new version of Flash Lite version 3.1, this one does
play nice with most websites, unfortunately it only works with the newest Opera builds, not with PIE..the new Pocket Internet Explorer will though..
Downloading the video's is not possible because they are embedded,
use WebVideoDownloader for that (it's buggy though)
Hope it helps, but you could've found this using the search
Flash works with skyfire, opera 9.5(new builds) and internet explorer 6, so far it works best with skyfire imho.but not great there either.

care to share your find with us? I've been looking everywhere but haven't been successful so far. tried flash 7, flash lite 3.1 and still nothing
this is a dead thread, the last reply was 5 months ago...
anyway he probably meant the tcpmp plugin, it allowed you to click a link in pie
and a popup would ask you wat to do with the file, e.g. play or save
search the dev & hacking forum for the cab file

T Mobile Youtube

There have been a number of threads on here about youtube not being on the t mobile version, and a few suggestions of where you can get an app. But these all seem to stop videos that you have taken from being played back. This has been mentioned elsewhere already, but with no solution.
Has anyone managed to resolve this issue yet ??
thanks in advance for any help.
......... Just to add, the phone is fantastic !!
Most people I know have flashed the "generic" ROM in their respective language, no more T-Mobile tweaks like this...
The "XMas Goldcard" solution makes it possible... can be found here at xda.

Fully integrated youtube!!!!!

If your like me one of the few features that I've been jealous of on the iphone and droids ( booo) is integrated youtube. When they receive a youtube link via text or email it opens up their youtube player. Not the web browsers.
It took a while for me to get it working right but now we have it too!!!!
Check out my post on ppcgeeks

Works perfect! The speed could be faster, but I guess that's a HTC Youtube issue, because this C++ program is very small! Would you mind if I cook this into my roms?
Thanks for your great work!
Very nice!
You posted this on ppcgeeks:
Actually even if you dont have the htc youtube app you can benefit from this app. Whenever you click on a youtube link it will open the mobile version of youtube in your browser. In other words if your receive a link http://www.youtube.com/watch........... it will convert then open the link Http://m.youtube.com/watch...........
Is it possible to play this link in youtube without converting it to the mobile version of youtube? Because a lot of video's are blocked in m.youtube so you can't watch it on your mobile. They work if I play them in the brower with the normal link.

Please Clarify, I'm not sure what you mean. What I meant was for those without the HTC youtube app, they can still benefit from the app that I made. Because in order to play youtube videos via RTSP ( core player or streaming media player ) you have to open up the mobile youtube website and this app does that automatically when it detects that you dont have the youtube player

Cook Away!!!!!
Although your more then welcome to cook it into your rom, I ask that you please do not share the cab directly, instead point to the thread.
Secondly, give me a shot out in your thread.

By the time the youtube app starts my app has already closed and is not! running in the backround, so the slowdown is all HTC's fault
I have no idea what it means to "cook away", but from the another part of your question I understood that I'm welcome to cook it xD
I have a link to my rom thread in my signature, so you're welcome to look into it.
Again, many thanks for that genius program.

Hey Jackos
I think we might have had a translation issue, when I said "Cook Away!!" I meant that you're more the welcome to cook it into your rom. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
I only ask that you give me a mention in your roms thread. Good Luck, thanks for taking the time to bless us with your ROMS
Haven't tested this yet but I'm going to test this today. If this works, it'll revolutionize how we experience Youtube on our devices. I'm sick of Opera trying to open the videos by itself and then failing miserably.

An email with a youtube link opens up the youtube player which is great. But, other html links do nothing. Your program may not play well with jzbrowser mortsript which when an email html hyperlink is clicked allows selection among multiple browsers and then places the clicked link into the browser's url go textbox.
Can you modify your program to work with jzbrowser mortscript app?
Thanks.

I was about to ask the same thing...im not a member of a lot of places so it would be nice if it was posted here as well. Im not trying to be difficult or anything but I think it would be a benefit to others who are like myself who dont like to go to a hundred different sites for info. Call me old fashioned but I love my one stop shop in xda
I'm using Sprint TP2. I texted myself a Youtube video link. The youtube app loads, but it comes up as "Connection Failed. Please Try Again."

Yeah, and it's not just that. I don't think it would make since for me to register with a message board when I'm just going there to get one app. I'd probably never return to that site unless there was someting there that I needed.

I have found that some websites during browsing through Xoom, site picture resolution is not clear!! [I mean you can see the picture but with bad quality]
