yup, MUCH better. I only wish it was 100% WM5+-compliant.

Right. I have searched though didn't find ant reference to it. At least not i using searching in the subject.
Well ftpxbrowser basically does the same, adding tabs. It is not an full blown stand-alone browser. It isn't very WM5 compatible and probely developing stopped.

hi all
Recently got an M700 and am loving it. Since discovering this place I've been amazed at what customisations you can do, and with flashing to WM6 using AX3L's fantastic ROM, getting TomTom6 working, and a few choice other apps to allow FTP etc., i've now got a device that does pretty much everything I could ask of it anywhere! (Probably matter of time till I brick it though...).
What I am missing though, is a decent VNC client (although I've used the RDP client semi-successfully).
I've searched for 'VNC' but no joy - surely that can't be the case when there's so much other stuff available? or is the search function not liking the term...?
thanks for a great forum & resource
Did you see the posts re zoomVNC on PocketPC Thoughts? Looks nice!

thanks - looks excellent
i guess there's others out there i couldn't search for too!
For me the best is PTPocketOffice.
It was recommended by Menneisyys:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1572&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
It consumes a lot less data than the others VNC.
It's fast.
It has fullscreen.
It can be used one handed.
The server side can resample the pictures to make it smaller (less data and better image than if it was done by client side).
The only minor thing I'd like to see improved is their proprietary softkeyboard. why not using the system keyboard? I don't want to use a new keyboard with each of my apps...
that's a great article
i hadn't thought to even try logmein until reading it there, i'd assumed that with their remote screens always being slightly fuzzy and smaller it mightn't be great - wow, was i wrong!
just tried logging onto a client's SBS server and the screen scaling and rotation together make it nearly as useable as a standard desktop! the screen scrolling at the side of the screen is a great interface! there'll be occasions where i need VNC, but for know i think I've got a favoured solution
Hi all, this is my first time to write a post here, I need some testers for the application I am developing - WMOptimizer, it's basically a tweaking application for Windows Mobile. I know there's already some tweaking applications like XperiaTweak, Tweak2k2, and DiamondTweak for WinMo tweaking purposes, but I intended to make WMOptimizer finger friendly and visually appealing. Maybe this two enhancements are optional to most users out there, as functionalities are most important of all, but I want to test my ability of using .NET Compact Framework to make an application that is generally acceptable by the public.
I'm a international student studying in Australia Queensland University of Technology, the reason why I'm developing this application is because I want to try and sharpen my own programming skill and if possible add this into my port folio/resume, as an international student from Malaysia, a strong resume is very important, I hope to use this opportunity to strengthen my resume.
I've opened a wordpress blog for this application, http://wmoptimizer.wordpress.com/, I will post the most recent updates of this application there.
WMOptimizer v0.0.0.1 can be downloaded at my Skydrive here, please leave a comment here about the application.
It's developed in WVGA resolution, because I only have one WinMo device, Xperia X1, so it's my only option, please try the application using other WinMo devices and let me know the results and what you think about this application, thank you so so so much!
You can contact me via leaving a comment on wmoptimizer.wordpress.com or email me [email protected]

i tried it seems to be very promising however in present state not very useful .
When more features are added, I'm willing to try it out. I don't think it will be ground-breaking, as for instance Schap's Advanced Config can do this already, and so much more..
Keep going on your good work mate! Seems very promising !
promising but not that useful considering the lack of features. your next version should have the majaority of whats in advanced config 3.3

Alpha 2 brings the following improvements:
Improved panning performance
Newly designed theme
JavaScript error console is now built in
Improved add-on support
Numerous bug fixes
Improved UI polish
Unfortunately it would not be an Alpha is there were not plenty of bugs still. A major one may be that panning and scrolling in iframes have not been solved yet, meaning web sites like Google Mail and Reader remain difficult to use.
Download the latest alpha, for the HTC Touch Pro specifically, HERE. Might work on other devices as well, I have not tested yet.
Found info at WMPowerUsers
I posted in another fennec thread but nobody even looked at it so thought I would start my own. Sorry for another fennec thread.
tried it on my vogue, its supposed to be alpha 2, so they are exused, but still, never saw a program so worthles at its alpha stage, just wondering why they release it all? whats the point? bug reports? are you kiding me? its one big bug!
one new thing I noticed, it now does support touch screen keyboards, so you can now try it with devices that do not have a hardware keyboard.
makes me wonder why its not mentioned in the release notes.
I like how the TF3D bar made it into the picture
Tried this one and the previous ones on my HTC Fuze. It doens't really work quite right and the things is really really slow. ...but hey it IS an alpha version - I will wait and try the next realsed one cause this one is worse than the first one...ha
Alpha or not I would be embarrassed to show anyone this large pile of crap!!

of course it is like every big browser. we've got a free internetbrowser and they our internet behavior^^
no jk.. maybe^^
its a very good one i prefer it to opera.
technically it's not freeware, it's a "concept version" It will expire at some point..
One day I hope theyll release the proper thing so that those of us who bought the last one can get an upgrade with everything working..
Over gprs in "simple mode" browsing things like this forum is perfect, strips out all the uneeded stuff and makes it very fast.
Not sure if anyone can help. I've been using the NetFront 3.5 Concept browser for a while but I have an issue with it.
For some reason when I am typing text into a webpage using it, be it into google or any other page, the text I am typing doesn't display until I move off the text entry box (tab, or press the right cursor key).
I've been living with it for the last few releases but would really like to get it sorted. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't help.
Typing in usernames / google searches / facebook replies blind is fairly tricky. If I am writing anything other than a few words I tend to drop to notes or Word and then copy and paste.
Apologies if this is the wrong section to post in, but I thought it was somewhere to start.
I'm using a TyTn II branded as an XDA Stella.
Thanks
IAn
This concept version has the following restrictions:
* The trial period for this software expires on November 30, 2009
I saw this today and was wondering if something like this may be possible on a ROM in the future?
The new Nokia Maemo OS has this circular zooming trick - see here @2:15 :
Youtube link
Developers here were able to create faux multitouch for the magic and g1, so I was wondering if this could be theoretically possible?
Just a thought.

Circle zooming was there in the early cupcake version... so yeah it's possible

I forwarded this thread to Loccy.
Here's an app that uses it.
