Custom windshield mount forTreo fits Tilt perfectly
The Igrip custom unit for the Treo fits perfectly. The universals are a problem as the "ears" tend to move apart, dropping the phone. Here's a link for their high-end unit for $29. They also make a custom unit with a gooseneck (actually a thick aluminum wire covered with a sleeve) for $19.

Kaiser Windscreen Mount
I've previously used the Artemis and now switched to the Kaiser.
The Artemis package comes with a car windscreen mount that has a holder fitting the Artemis to a T.
Came across this website that has a holder which could be replaced to fit the Kaiser to a T. URL as follows -> http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/14751.htm
However, it's only available in UK. Anyone knows if it's available in Singapore?

i'm looking for a carmount that doesn't involve a suction cup.I'm really looking for something that can be clipable to the air vent and be able to handle weight since i primarily use an extended battery
Update. I found this instead http://www.proclipusa.com/?sectionp...tegoryid=&p_year=&p_countryid=0&p_leftorright=
I got one aradio shack for $15 that works great. Clips into vent and adjust in size to grip from sides. Charger still fits while in cradle too. Kevin
The one I use is a $9 one from wal-mart. it clips to the air vent & has adjustable sides w/ a space on the bottom for chargers.
Do you like the one from walmart?
Pro Clip is where its at
I bought this set, Everything works great especially for the price.
My first plastic case had the issue of one corner not fitting right, so i contacted them, and they sent out a new one the next day. Fit perfectly.
But it has the car cradle, and a very nice leather holster that holds the phone snug.
amazon has a ginormous variety of all types of holders. i got one a few weeks ago that comes with windshield mount and is also interchangeable to the air vent. also some that are actually custom to the phone for a little more $ with a charger port built in.
hi,

Here you can find a car holder

I use the cheap car kit from Wilkinson's in the UK which holds the phone really well, and I have a Motorola mini usb charger for in the car too.
Try the one from Clas Ohlson. Works really good as long as you dont need the keyboard.
BE CAREFUL!
The Brodit holder is Scratching the X1's chrome frame!!!
I've used only twice and already there are two little black spot on the both side. Not worth it!
Hmm I have the Brodit active holder in backorder..
Are there more people experiencing the scratching problem?
Is there a good alternative carholder?
I am just using the Nokia Universal Holder CR-39 with the Easy Mount HH-12 that mounts on my windscreen. Some people might not like it but it is a pretty good solution for me.
I bought it when I had the Nokia n95 phone (used it for 1 year already) but it holds many phone perfectly (imate JASJAM, n95 that I have tried)
The x1 is not exception too, and it shouldn't cause any scratch since there is some soft foam on the side of the "holder".
Only down side is it might be relatively expensive compared to other kit.
I don't like the windshield mounts.
The Brodit is perfect because it's mountable on your dashboard without scratching it. And you can use the keyboard while it's in the holder.
I'm afraid there isn't an alternative.. So I hope the Brodit scratching problem is a hoax (maybe the person using it wasn't very carefull?)
I'm getting mine from brodit on thursday. I really hope it doesn't scratch the chrome and that it was just that one holder that's defect.
I'll let you know if there are scratch tendensies..
I got my Brodit today and installed in my car.. and I can say it doesn't leave scratches on my phone.
Idon't se any scratches on my phone yet, and I've been quite brutal dragging the phone in and out of the holder alot. I would like to see how big the actual scratches are. Can vax6 post any pics of the damage?
Can you order directly from Brodit ?
I would second the choice of brodit.
the problem for me though, is that I change phone frequently, so it's not economical for me to get a new brodit holder every time I change phone , so what I did was get my old ipaq 6965 holder, and add padding to the side of it, and the thickness will vary depending on the phone I have, and I have a OEM looking holder w/o having to spend a bomb each time I change the phone. (although, I reckon not changing phone so often would be the solution)
Brodit holder
I haven't notoced any scratching on phone although I have thought that it is a tighter fit than brodit holders I have had for other phones. The other flaw is that the holder covers the speakerphone which is not the loudest in the world on the X1 anyway.
I'm shopping for a new car mount. I want something with a suction cup that sticks to the windshield or dash - not looking for a vent or cup mount.
I've been looking around at several models, but most of them seem to fit poorly for a Fuze - sides covering volume/PTT buttons & back covering the rear speaker.
I use my Fuze as a GPS device in landscape mode. I'd like a holder that doesn't cover any hardware buttons or the rear speaker. I also use a case once in awhile but not always - so the width should be adjustable.
I have the suction cup mounted type and did not like it.. they seem to wobble/vibrate more than the vent mount ones.. also car theifs will break into you car if they see thesuction mount thing on your dash, as they assume whatever goes on it is still in the car... jsut a warning.. you locat people to not use that type in the Milwaukee area... if you do decide to get the vent mount... Target sells one at the stores for $15 that works well... quick release button and all that... decent quality too (not cheap feeling like some are)
Thank you for your response, you bring up some important things to consider.
I have tried vent clips, but in my vehicle the weight of the phone causes the screen to point downwards.
My wife bought me a universal holder, which the vendor said is compatible with the Fuze. It mounts to the windshield, has a long gooseneck and the holder barely fits the fuze w/o a case. It blocks the rear speaker and the sides cover the volume/PTT buttons.
One nice thing it came with was a disc the size of the suction cup, with some very thick sticky tape on the bottom. While the disc isn't really pretty, it allows me to mount on the dash or even the console - avoiding the conspicuous windshield attention grabber.
I would just like a good, adjustable holder that doesn't cover buttons or the rear speaker.

Try http://www.proclipusa.com/
You buy the clip in two parts: vehicle mount and device holder.
I have one and because it fits so well, I never used the double-sided tape that comes with it. Whenever I change devices, I purchase a new device holder.
These are far more secure than a suction cup and all the years I've used these, they never fell off.
I don't have a need for it, but they also have an extension mount so you can mount 2 devices. Really great concept if you have the need.
Although these may cost a little more, they are definitely worth the price.

Seconded! I've used the Brodit Proclip for over a year now and had no issues at all.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks, you guys made me take a second look at this vendor.
Would you guys trust the holder to hold the phone if it was mounted for landscape viewing?

Yes, no problem.
Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a nice carrying case for my new DHD and also will be needing a car cradle, would prefer one that fits onto the vent grill rather than sucker type.
Anyone recommend anything?
Thanks.
This is a official holder,

you might try this website: PDAir [dot] com
though they mostly have hard silicon cases, they are probably not yet available.
Also keep in mind that with a soft silicon case your GPS and other receptions will be weaker (alteast it is with my soft slicon case, which does not come from pdair, so don't know if that would be the same).
note: the car holder and the leather cases are compatible so you can use them without removing the case. which would be the case with most silicon cases (hard or soft)
Brodit make the best car phone cradles on the market. Check them out.
Does anybody knows some good car holder for nexus4. Vent holder is preferable.
I can find only universal ones.
I have always been a big fan of RAM Mounts due to the quality and variety of arms and bases. I used to use their dedicated device cradles for my devices, but their new XGrip universal cradle is genius. Easy in and out, super strong grip, and will never mark your device. All I use anymore.

Brodit mounts. They're pricey but once you try them you'll never go back:

The Mountek looks really tidy with the Nexus 4 and is very well built. I'd give up on your concerns for a dedicated mount.
