HTC Home - always use mobile number? - Mogul, XV6800 General

when i installed what I thought was the most recent version of HTC home on my mogul I can only put mobile numbers in the quick dialer. Is there a version that works on the mogul that allows home or work numbers to be put on the quick dialer? I thought I had read that V2.0.x resolves that problem but I can't seem to find a version of 2.0 that will install on my mogul.
anyone have a link to the file that will take care of my issues? Thanks!

search for the latest version of the HTC Home customizer (i think .8). it in addition to having a great gui for making settings change also has the ability to download the latest version of HTC Home for your unit automatically, which will fix your problem.

I tried that and it would not/could not download a version appropriate for the mogul. at the time i could only install home plug v 1.5.x and get it to work with the customizer.
I did finally get V2.0.x working by downloading and installing schen's resigned version. The version i've attached works great on my sprint mogul.

HTC X-Button (Task Manager) 2.0 (build 31261)

HTC X-Button (Task Manager) 2.0 (build 31261)
I been searching for a while looking for the cab. I finally found it and wanted to share it. Maybe you can add it to the OEM cab's thread and remove this one.
Enjoy.

This version of 2.x doesn't work on non-htc devices as well, you got any other version of it?
how is it different than 1.x?
Well the reason i posted this cab, it is the only version that i could find that worked correctly with WM6.1 rom. The others would cause and error and cause the device to reboot.

I have 6.1 htc mogul 6800, installing now. glad to hear it works for 6.1 and mogul

Would you mind tell us what kind of phone do you have? I cannot make it work on my Wizard after installing 6.1. Many different ROMs have been tried but all have the same problem.
Thanks.
I success installed on P3300. WM6.1 ROM by meschle.
How to remove the original WM6.1 Task Manager ? I don't know it will conflict or not.
HTC Task Manger 2.0 build 31261
I installed it on my hermes wm 6.1. The task manager seems to be working but there's no X button. I tried in options, reinstalling many times but nothing. Would anyone know if there's registry entry that could be responsible for that? Thanks
I used it in the past on a tmobile wing (htc herald) and the problem is it does not differentiate ok and close at all. If I tried to make a new appointment in my calendar and hit ok it would close the calendar program and didn't save anything.
I did success install but I think use another company is better support and bugfix and cute and low memory usage.
Such as BatteryStatus Extended version have built in these function. or SPB Pocket Plus.
I am newbie too. No time to learn PPC. If i have another choice I will told here.
Works on the Duttys 6.1 - 5.2.19716 just fine. Needs a soft reset after install; and the installer complains that it might not work right; but seems to be working okay on my end.
X Buttons and all.
I definately prefer BatteryStatus Extended version for closing apps on my Hermes!
X-button file reloaded
This X-button cab works on the Mogul with 6.1. Not sure why it was labelled Taskmanager 2.
thanks . . . . downloaded
thanks, both downloaded
Any other users install this on WM6.5 Titanium? It works, but only from the Home screen, and it is in the same spot as the clock in the title bar area. It is actually overlaid on top of the clock and looks bad.
This makes the app pretty useless if it can't be used from the title bar from anywhere other than the Titanium home.
FYI this is on a xv6800 (titan).
Thanks
Works well on my HX4700 iPAQ

htc home customizer not working

Hi,
I've installed HTC Home customizer v1.0 beta 5 but when trying to run it I get an error, IndexOutOfRangeException for homecust.exe
has anyone managed to get this working on the original ROM?
and yes I did do a soft reset after the installation
I think that you have to install a newer version of HTC Home. HTC Home Customizer does not work with default HTC Home.
1. Remove HTC_Home_PPC_Blue from Remove programs if is there. If not, go to step 2.
2. Install sdkcerts.cab
3. Install Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.814.722-schen.cab
4. Install Backlight bug fix.cab
5. Install HHCv10b5.cab
Download HTC Home plugin fix pack
Thanks panosha !
What is new in the kaiser home compared to the polaris one? If i dont want to change the look of the plugin, is the upgrade needed/adviced?
Thanks! Finally it works
Thanks Panosha,
Having spent some fruitless hours on trying to get the customizer working, it really works now!

HTC Polaris - HTC Home customization

hello, about a month ago I bought a HTC Polaris (actually the "Find" version, sold by the Italian TIM),
I've some problem in costumizing the HTC Home, i.e. in changing from 4 to 6 tabs:
I followed the procedure posted in (2nd trick):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355277
but I realised that all the modifications I make to the order of Tabsetting have no effect at all,
moreover, I can see just 5 tabs, not the music tab!
help! any idea?
thanks, Ste
Just try this prog: http://www.pocketemu.com/hhc-info.html
You can customize your Home Plugin very easy with that.

the switch from 4 to 6 tabs should be easily obtained just by
adding the Tabsetting string, whitout the need to install anything...
I wonder why this doesn't work on my mobile
i had a simillar problem with aserg's wwe rom.
the only difference was that i couldn't see the contacts tab.
I had to install the latest HTC Home version to use all 6 tabs.
hope this helps.

just in case, to revert back to my original HTC Home I have to unistall the new version with "program uninstall"?
or I have to backup my device first?
Ste
I dont know, but i think, only hardreset is possible to "uninstall" this version...
mmm, I also wonder why on my HTC the order of the tabs
Tabsetting = 1,2,3,4,5,6
doens't matter at all...
Moreover, even if I remove some tabs, I always get 5 tabs (without the music one), maybe everything is embedded in the ROM, and cannot be changed?
However, before to insert the Tabsetting string and delete the Quickdial one,
I had only 4 tabs!

I download the 6 tab version and, without intalling it, I checked file by file
the differences between the CAB files and those installed in the phone:
the file are the same, and also the registry keys,
however the files on the phone are newer
(e.g. HTCHome.dll ver. is 2.10.1813.2022)
The funny stuff is that in the \Program Files\HTC Home\ directory, the
icons for the Music Player are there! So it seems that the version installed
foreseen the possibility to have a music tab...
I know, I will go crazy with that...
