Have anyone see this?

Now it's possible to use finger almost everywhere.
Looks very good.
They've removed the repeating alarm feature which is a deal-breaker for me.
They've announced that they'll be making it available as a separate download later so I hope they follow through.
Other than that its pretty cool.
The touch scrolling is a very nice addition.
So far so good.
As a today plugin it's great, we can add/integrate (almost) everything to it!
Nice
Looks very good.
I like the "finger" scrolling movement.
The problem is the finger scrolling only works with a small number of applications that are defined by SPB. I tried the trial and found that FTouchFlo (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334965) worked much better and also works in every application.
Finger scrolling works very slow in IE on my Artemis (WM6).
I installed it for all of one hour before I lost my marbles and got rid of it, lol... the thing slowed my cell phone down, not too much, but enough for me to be very unhappy with it. Additionally, the autohide function does not enable scrolling if the today screen icons happen to surpass the screen size... and, it disables other plugins I love and enjoy to use such as the Battery Status plugins, argh!
Overall, I could come to love a nifty program like Pocket Plus 4, but I think I'll stick to smaller plugins like PIEPlus and FTouchFlo to cover my needs for now :-S
Just installed on my Kaiser. I looks a lot like SPB Mobile Shell, but the option to add Today Plugins is fantastic. When it doesn't affect my battery or performance too much, this one stays!
I can't tell affect on battery yet, but performance it still ok!
Just posted some screenshots. It looks pretty nice with HTC Home.
i like what you did with the htc home plugin in the middle. nice

Yes, very nice. How did you do that? I notice that it is embedded in your Home Tab.
in case he doesn't come back: if you can't do it by default (maybe you can) there's a reg tweak to make the htc home plugin movable

Judging by johanromijn's screen-shots, it looks like you can make PocketPlus look like MobileShell (without the dynamic icons) if that is true, then if you don't use the Now screen, is there any real benefit to MobileShell?
The one thing I would wonder before trying, is.....do the tabs disapear like MobilShell, or stay constant like old PocketPlus? That would be the deal-breaker for me!!

Sure.
MobileShell is using less memory
But both are for the same price so if one doesn't care about memory guess its better to buy PocketPlus.

The smart scrolling feature is freakin awesome! i dont need pcm contacts anymore since I can touch scroll on the built in contacts and messaging! I can even touch scroll on PIE and file manager.. damn this is good.
I'm using a Hermes and it has no impact on performance whatsoever. It can flip through portrait and landscape in a millisecond (unlike SPB Diary). This is the best today plug-in I've tried so far.

Agreed, on my Apache, it works great I going to see if they will implement sweep right/left to change through letters in contacts or flip through photos, that would be nice.
Also hope they can implement the finger scroll when scrolling through appts. in SPB Diary.
the finger scrolling does not work with resco explorer
I think SPB will not support any products from other companies my friend.
You can still have the touch scrolling feature using this

Does anyone know how to make the Calendar appear on one of the tabs? I've made the same change as listed here for the HTC Home plugin, but it doesn't seem to work for the Calendar.

DO you guys also have this, that when you run GPRS Monitor & Wisbar, that you if you have the connect icon from GPRS on at the top of the strat menu, it doesn't take the same theme as what you have for Wisbar.
Now you can disable this icon or move it around, but I don't want to disable it, and I now have this funny looking icon standing out from the other icons.
Got the same issue with it, still not sure whether I'll keep WisBar. It's slowing down my magician too much. Probably sticking with SPB plus 3.1 beta.
M
What does SPB Plus 3.1 Beta do other than what 3.0.4 offers? Are you saying it is now also doing what Wisbar does?
Absolutely not, but it seems more stable now. Nicer icons & better integration with PIE.
I'm happy enough with the multiple SPB tabs.
WisBar is indeed much better looking, etc etc. I totally agree with that.

So what's your today-plugin?
i love the look of wisbar.. but yes, i get a lot of lockups now.. and soemtimes my theme disapears! and yes, i get that gprs icon error also.. itll change back to the default icon ad not use the wisbar theme i have.
spb is great, but im not too big on having a bunch of stuff on my today screen... i looked into having shortcuts in my task tray, and i was linked to that .cab someone made called "phm tasktray only.cab" or something..
what sucks about that is, when you go to ADD, you have to manually TYPE OUT the shortcut path.. no way to browse to the program itself.. big hassle ;d
i really dont want to get rid of wisbar, but if it continues to act up.. i have no choice =[
im hoping when i do my firmware upgrade, itl lhelp somewhat.. maybe
I must say Wisbar 2.5.0.1 is working very nicely on my Jam. Haven't had it lock up, or quit to give the normal windows look, it is not slow, starts up properly when I restart. Also had no problems with Pocket Plus 3.0.4, haven't tried 3.1 beta yet.
Me again, the more my today screen shows, the better.
are there differences between the two in functionality, user friendliness and others?
I noticed the panel doesnt have the now screen functionality (full screen spb following switching screen on)

No, but I prefer the non fullscreen version of the panel - it is nice and very beautifully done. I own the full version of Mobile Shell but I actually prefer the free panelversion
@easycure
I thought I have a PM for you that haven't been replied
any other difference?
Does anyone know if we're able to change the colour of the SPB Shell panel? I can't see any configuration options for it.
Ditto - most usable panel and nice to be able to customise
hmmm, seeing that the spb panel won't be the home screen (I mean like homepage in your browser) by default, so now which one is better? shall I install the program than the panel?
panel disadvantages :
1. rather slow
2. won't be the home screen, that's mean you have to press the panel button and then select the panel to go to it which mean you'll lose media playback (music stops, radio stops) which is horrible.
3. no skin?
Do gestures work in the panel as they do in the full version?
seemed like only a few people use this apps, perhaps majority out there don't even know about it's existence?
both version seem to be very slow. both on loadup, and trying to load something else from the screen. also, the clocks don't even show the correct time for my city.. for some reason, it thinks New York is not on the east coast.. bizarre..
i used to use SBSH Facade. anybody else use that before with any succcess on the x1?
EDIT: Nevermind.. i thought the panels included on the phone were the SPB shell panels, but they're not. had to download it as well on my UK phone from clove. time is correct now.. seems to be more friendly than any of the other panels. does anybody even use any of the other panels? they all seem pretty useless.
It looks like a lot of the customizability and functionality is missing in the free panel version. I can't change the on-screen soft keys on the free panel version and some of the gestures aren't there either.
Anybody else have both versions and can compare? The full version isn't cheap and I'm not sure if the added functionality is worth it.
Maybe superfluous, but this is an idea I had for a launcher. This is inspired by the lens-eye feature from the excellent Comic Reader Mobile found on this forum.
- First picture shows standard launcher screen with lots and lots of really small icons. Small enough that hopefully all your programs fit on this screen.
- Second picture shows screen-area that is pressed.
- Third picture shows a lens that enlarges the icons close to where has been pressed.
This way any program in this launcher is 2 quick presses away. No more scrolling, no more having to leave icons out of a category because of space constraints.
Is this worthwhile?
If you want my opinion I think your idea is fast to launch items but slow to find them. I know that after some time playing with it, if you already know where it is you will launch it fast but....
I have another proposal for you . For my app I've done a couple of widgets that I call Bubbles (see attachment). The "flower" is initially closed and if you hold your finger in the middle it opens showing the icons surrounding, then draging your finger and releasing it over the desired icon you launch the app. thsi way if you are capable of grouping the apps into categories (grames, programs, comm, profiles, etc) you can access all those options with only one tap & hold .
I liked it, maybe a round lens with an animation will be more attractive
..sure, with dx 10 effects for your htc phones.

nice idea, sunra, but menus seems generally better, than today launchers...like quickmenu i.e...

Haha, it is certainly not meant to look like this! I had the look and feeling of the lens system of Comic Reader in mind.
APBilbo, your system is really nice. Our systems look alike. I want to ask you if you have any programs where you're not sure in what category you like to place them?
Nothin, could you explain why menu's seem better to you?
it is hard to explain - quick menu revised my today plugins, so i do not need to waste today space, menu is fast method with small mem usage.
i know, htc is promoting its ****ty stuff and many users got it, but there are other options, luckily....
i like claunch, tho(tap on empty space shuffles to next hm, tab"..).
claunch is nice but...
a programm launcher like the scrollbar in manila would be nice... as homeplugin...
it would be nice ... because you can insert lot of programs
8x8 icons with claunch(as line with 18 px height) is not enough?
i said, that i am using many tabs in that 1 line - tap on EMPTY space moves to another one, do i need to see ALL icons at once?
nope.
my rom contains ~60-70 applications i've added to rom, besides system ones, you know
end of OT.
keep loving your manila's, guys...
ehhh.
It's called a ZUI my friend, a Zooming User Interface
To be honest, I like it, but I think only one level of zoom should be required. Too many clicks otherwise.
Chuck in some decent kinetic scrolling for if there were too many items to fit on the screen, and you're on to a winner!
Might have a look-see to see how hard she'll be to whip up a prototype...

Ulitmate Launch is a Today Screen launcher that works in a similar fashion to iLauncher or SBP Pocket Plus except it is much better. I have been using it for about a week and i am sold. It is far and away the most useful today screen app and it uses very little memory. You can also set it to not load tabs until they are activated saving even more memory.
Ultimate launch allows you unlimited tabs that can either be placed at the top or at the bottom of the launcher. The tabs can be switched with finger or stylus gestures or by touching the tab you would like directly. The animation for switching between tabs is customizable and offers a cube like spinning which will no doubt keep you playing with your phone more than you already do.
Ultimate launch is also able to nest other today screen plug-ins so you can have HTC home on one tab, Weather Panel on another.
www.ultimatelaunch.de is the website to go get this fantastic application.
You can use standard XP Icons to further customize your tabs and programs.
To find Icons-
Google of course
Deviant Art - www.deviantart.com Awesome site all the way around but many artists on here sharing thier works for free.
CrystalXP - www.crystalxp.net Similart to deviant art.
This is my current set up-
http://img29.picoodle.com/img/img29/4/2/27/f_ULm_bb15642.gif
I have 7 tabs I have it set to spin as you can see I have it set to show all of the icons but blur the inactive icons.
Added some icons http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/111588/Ultimate-launch-icons-zip.html for you to use if you choose.
this was a good application too bad it has not been updated over a year now ... but i think spb mobile shell had used this idea to make it more useful IMHO
I loved this program on my Mogul...
Too bad he didn't take the next step and try to make it into what second today or TF-Detacher is...
Probably impossible to anyway...
I like it very, very much. Is one of the best ever.

LOL. That's pretty funny.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was just trying to spread the word on a (at one time) great program
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmAGKoxubNc
Judging by the video this looks like a must have app on the hd2. i love the swiping the whole lockscreen effect .a choice of different skins available interchangebale backgrounds pics also the ability to vreate your own on the website THIS IS A NEW EXPERIENCE im looking to purchase this app before i do can anyone recommend it? if they tried it are there any negatives except the price? tHanks All
When I first got my Touch Pro2, my problem was locking it. I was looking at PocketShield, but in all honesty, there are other great [free] lockscreens such as TouchLockPro, S2U2, (don't know if it's still around) ThrottleLock.
I used TouchLockPro on my TP2, and I loved it, especially since the developer actually utilized the zoombar as an unlock mechanism. However, it has other features that are compatible for the HD2: Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, Hardware Button Combinations, etc.
However, if PocketShield has a trial version, I advise you to try before you buy, especially since it's $15 (USD)!
thanks you make a valid point.i will trial the product before making purchase..has any of the other programs you mentioned have the feature to unlock by swiping the whole lockscreen?

Unfortunately, no.
TouchLockPro doesn't even have a UI to unlock; you will only know it is locked if there is a thin, solid bar (the color of the bar is customizable) at the top of the screen or if you use the BattClock (a box with the battery percentage and the clock), which changes color. The lack of a UI is what makes this lock very "lite".
S2U2 is an iPhone-style lock, though there are many skins/themes that can be found here on XDA to make it look less like the iPhone.
ThrottleLock, which I have never tried, is an Android-style pattern lockscreen -- you make your own pattern (connecting the dots on a grid) to unlock it.
I use Pocketshield about 1year and its super program i can recomande it..

I've been using PocketShield for a while. It is an excellent program. The Pin Locking actually works, and is easy to use. It has several other very useful features to customize the way it works.
I wouldn't be without it now. It's pretty cheap, too.
it has a 15day trial which im currently into! i think its a fantastic app. a must have!!
I also use pocketshield for a couple of months.
Works as it should. No problems
Maybe more nice themes is something to be wanted
is there a way you can upload more themes to it?
i use pocketshield & i highly recommend it. i actually PAID for it, and i never buy apps unless theyre that awesome. i do think it needs more themes though. but you can change the background pic, so its not that big a deal.
This lock screen looks great, seems smoother than S2U2 in the unlock animation.
I definitely want it, but $10 seems WAY too much for a lock screen.
great app
I used S2U2 before but since a few months I switched to Pocketshield. I can say one thing : it's worth the money for sure.
Easy to use and to customize.
Nice skins.
All the customization I did is working perfectly (e.g. unlocking exceptions, application permissions,...)
There are regularly updates and the lock screen gets more and more developed too (more information).
definately feels alot smoother than s2u2 plus other features too. tbh i removed s2u2 because i didnt like the apple iphone aspect of it rather keeo it original..finally agree with price being a issue
I have also tried PocketShield and although it is attractive, I find that its "application exception" is pretty buggy. "Application exception" allows you to specify applications that you do not want to lock the screen, e.g. music player. I find that it will attempt to lock the screen then try to unlock it, which seems to cause some undesirable effect, like freezing the phone.
S2U2 also has this feature and works a lot better as it will not lock the screen at all for applications listed.
I do like the vertical swipe feature of PocketShield which is a lot easier to apply than the iPhone style sideway swipe. Unfortunately this one problem stops me from using it.
I think I will give this a try. Been using s2u2 without complaint, but always looking for something new. If you can just swipe the screen, then that would be an added bonus.
im currently using it right now. trial version though. im having mixed emotions about it though. will still try it for a few more days. it has a lot of nice skins and is very easy to use... but im still hesitant getting it though.
anyone know how to disable the notifications popups? apparently pocketshield enables them and I have never used them.
i totaly forgot this one.. looks like it got amazing now
really thinking about buying it this time..
nrfitchett4,
have you tried to alter the notifications option in settings?
I also used it for a couple of time and paid for it. My problem was the following: appointments haven't updated properly on the PS-lockscreen and so I threw it away for now. Will try again later.
