noobie here , just wanted to know is there a way to disable the new text msg from popping the whole msg up on the screen . i have pocketcm so when im msging throw it , the new msg pop up throw the standard text msg program and the pocketcm . which gets on my last nerve lol .if i can just get it to make the sound for new msg with out the pop up dat would be great for pocketcm so i can hold text convo with out the pop up in the way evertime. can any one help me

Hi all,
it's maybe a little off topic but....
i'm using a very cool program called Magicall which basicly filters my incoming call and SMSs ...
this lovely program also gives a great informative notification of the missed call / SMS
which sadly causes a duplicate notification to be created (one by the windows and one by the program)
so ..... i would very much like to disable the windows's notification (it is much less attractive !, Magicall's notification shows you the number/cotact which called you without going into a list !, just by clicking the left soft button)
please help me (if it's even possible)

I think u shld better check notifications setting or else it is a default function for each and every phone to notify u abt ur missed calls.
Couple things i'm sure someone can help me with but first one is:
When I receive a txt msg and say im consistently chatting with someone. If i dont exit and reopen the message the amount of unread msg's starts adding up even though I'm in the conversation with them on the window. So eventually after like 20 txts between the person, I have to exit and reopen the message to show all the messages have been read. Its so friggin annoying!!! Any solutions?
Another thing I just cant figure out but if I have call waiting and I'm in a call, how the hell do I switch to the other line on this phone???? I cant figure it out.
1. Use your d-pad to scroll up in the SMS app to clear unread messages...
2. You just push the green talk button to flash to the other line.
Sweet... I cooked my phone with Cfays 6.5.1 ROM and its fixed in that... When you get like 5 txt msgs, u read it once and they're all marked as read.... so happy.
Now I`m close o getting crazy.
Every time I send a sms, I get a reply that just says "sent succesfully"
AND I hate that it vibrates 2 sc after sending an sms

solved with this .cab
just go into ur options in messager and uncheck the notifcation
As per above post go to message tab settings and disable sent notification

I have problems reading sms, when i get a sms i tap the sms icon on the bottom and then i come into the "message preview" and now the problem. If the sms i long so it doesnt fit the screen, what should i do. Today i just tried to tap the message and the i came into the conversation pages, this is where i can se the diffrent sms from same person and still the message is to big to show in the conversation so i tap the message again and then a meny of diffrent alt. come up....?!?!?
I found a diffrent way to get the message up but that cant be it...
If i tap the sms button on the bottom i come into the message preview and the i select more to the right and then i get the conversation in a diffrent way "tradional" and then i can tap the diffrent sms from this person and then the message comes up :?!??!?!
This must be a bug or ?!?!

everytime that we got SMS in HTC Hero , we can see the New SMS Icon + name/phone of the Sender and the Text MSG in the notification bar .
I'm wondering is there anyway to have just ONLY new sms icon in the Notification bar instead of seeing the sender name/phone and their text msg ???

There may be others aswel. Handscent (a very popular sms client) may even have some options for it, I just haven't got my phone with me to check for you.
thanks , tried that App , it can hide the SMS sender name and text msg from top of the Phone , but STILL when u open the notification bar u can see everything (sender name and his text msg) .

If you are on Froyodvillain ROM 1.5 then Open your Msg App > Go to Menu > Settings > Notifications settings > Untick Notifications Hope that Helps
Use autostarts to stop messaging from responding to received sms.
Oh wait, that will stop all notifications.
