I've tried 'Webcamera Plus' from Ateksoft to try out the security cam functionality and it seems to work quite well, not sure how good it is with MSN e.t.c, but there is a demo available.

There are a few threads here on it too.

thanks for the reply digital.diablo, but correct me if i am wrong, it appears that the webcam plus software transforms the camera function on ur phone (such as the htc x7500) into a webcam that can use for your PC, and not a webcam that can be used of the phone it self to have a live video conference.
is that right? if so, any other ideas?
thanx
Ahh, sorry, misunderstood what you were after. Yeah, Webcamplus is simply a way of using the onboard camera in your gadget as a webcam, so you could use it to video conference from your pc.
Not sure about your conferencing from the PDA though I'm afraid. Good luck on your quest!

i'll think about it. i doubt my friends would be interested to install a new software just so i can use my video viewers. maybe there is a messenger service that connects to all messenger services and has the software support to video calls.
if anyone knows of such a software do share the info

I've noticed when I am playing YouTube video's over WiFI (settings on high quality) that the first, let's say 30-45 seconds, the frame rate occasionally drops, but after that the rest of the video runs smooth.
Anyone any ideas what could be the problem ? Seems to me like some buffering issue.

Is this via the YouTube app or via Opera?

It's via the YouTube proggie...I haven't tested through Opera yet. I didn't even know that would work(?)

Yeah, I don't think it does...
Mine also stutters a bit through the early part of a track using the Opera app, I think it just takes a bit of time to properly buffer the video?

Can you let us know which ones please? I've been reluctant to trying anything "performance" related because most of the tweaks I've read about were for the Diamond or the Touch Pro and not optimised for the HD.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Check out the Blackstone wiki sticky at the top of the forum page - you'll see one of the tweaks is an SD card tune up cab which is apparently a must-do. Secondly, you'll see some cache settings in the wiki which you can implement through the windows mobile registry. To do this, you'll need a registry editor (I use Schap's registry editor 0.9b).
Good luck!
Petrov.
I went through the settings in this thread-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448707
make sure you read it all though!
(it's a speed vs stability issue - personally I've had no stability issues with the suggested settings, but...)

it's more to do with playing videos which you have stored on your SD card than with YouTube - but you're likely to need it anyway
Link to the cab is on page 1, but you need to read the whole thread to understand how to get the very best performance when playing a (stored) video.
Very good read, most worthwhile

For example: 7 mins of X-men 3
I only applied the SD tweak which worked great with playing videos on my card. It didn't have an impact on YouTube video's however.
But my YouTube video's look splendid as they are already, I compared it a few times to videoplaying on the iPhone, both normal movies on the card and youtube videos, but the HD wins out massively at the video aspect.
Hey,
Ist there any solution to fix this Problem?
I have it myself (Rom: Dutty v2.0)
Only when the video has loaded completly it plays very smooth....

hey, dont think the op is just asking for a video. this should be pretty obvious since he isnt asking for this in an iphone forum. the op probably wants the girl that plays in the foreground and overlays over anything.

What do i need to download this and play it in my phione? Thanks ,
Having just a video playing with a girl stripping would be pointless.. we all get that **** at home.. well most of us anyways..
IF u was to take a screen shot of ur main screen and use that as a back drop for a video, then add a girl stripping (you would either need to extract just the girl from a video and overlay her over ur main screen) or video a girl on a blue screen and edit the blue out of the video whilst using ur main screen picture as the backdrop
or have a "virtual girl" like app for the PPC
It is not a girl stripping, it is a girl who washes the screen (for the iphone video i talk..)

with Firefox get the "download helper" extension
use the above link and download the flv file (using your new extension),
transfer file to your ppc and play using TCPMP.

I am very impressed with my HD2 - in my case from T-Mobile UK. There is no external T-Mobile branding but there are some ROM customisations.
On the software side I notice there is no YouTube application - has anyone else found this? I would like to get the YouTube app and also the BBC iPlayer application (both of which came with my HD) - any ideas?
I also notice a T-Mobile IM app. It does not work at all but I see from the T-Mobile UK website it is only free for 30 days anyway.

I'm on the T-Mobile build as well.
I have got the iPlayer working perfectly now - using MyPlayer and Coreplayer. It allows downloads, streaming and Live TV on both data and wifi. Also, someone posted a decent YouTube app on here today as well. As for the other bit of software missing, HTC Peep sounds next to useless from feedback on here any way...

btw, tried flashing to the WWE ROM last night and as I expected got a Vendor ID error. Apparently some have flashed their chinese HD2s with the WWE English East Europe ROM which worked, however I'm a bit hesitant unless someone else confirms this works on the T-Mobile edition.

36. Get BBC iPlayer Mobile Website Working on HD2
The current Opera 9.7 version on the HD2 is not detected by the BBC iplayer website. Here is a modifcation to Opera preferences you can do to get it to work. Launch Opera and type: opera:config in the url bar. No http:// prefix needed. Tap on User Prefs at bottom of the list and then scroll down to Custom User-Agent. Delete ALL text in the box and enter HTC_Touch_HD_T8282. Scroll down to the bottom of User Prefs list and hit Save. Exit Opera and restart it. Now go to http://bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer. Yes, you need both MyPlayer and CorePlayer. MyPlayer is the prog that you choose your video download/stream/radio station on, and it uses CorePlayer as the media player. If you still have problems, let me know and i'll talk you through step by step what settings I have entered to make it work - I can't remember what I changed (if anything) to make it work!

Lee it looks like I have an initial problem with Opera & the BBC mobile iPlayer web site which I hope you can help me with....
1. Opera does not seem to support my HD2?
2. Have not downloaded MyPlayer yet but I'm assuming once it is installed and configured CorePlayer should pick up the iPlayer files?
Thanks in advance.

Re the problem with Opera is that when I go to the BBC iPlayer site and click on a file to view the site then informs me it can not display the video as I need Flash Player.
If you then follow the links to download the player it takes you to Adobe's site but the download is for the PC version and not WIndows Mobile.
Do you have any issues with the iPlayer on Opera with your Phone?
