Boot with SD Card

Hello,
My XDA has crashed during a Radio Stack Upgrade (rsu_eng.exe taken on the O2 Ireland Web Site). Pocket PC Phone Edition doesn't work well (I can't connect it) and Bootloader is accessible but says GSM Error.
So I would like to create a SD card with autoexecuting application (like chosl has done) to restart my installation when I will insert the SD card. But I don't have enough knowledge to do that.
If somebody could tell me what I could do or send me by mail his autostart.exe to do my SD card boot-able (!)...
I really need your help.

I thougt that jou must place your nb.nbf file on de sd card.
But you can also try the love rom to reset youre rom image

XDARit problem reading/writing SD card

I've saved my ROM to a SD card, but the XDARit program will not read it, I get an error: Did not find correct flash signature, aborting! - and it does not matter if I read .nb1 files or .img files.
When I try to write an image (.nbf file) to the card, it finishes in about 1 second, saying it wrote 65026 blocks ??? I try to write only the Windows CE part, since my boot loader is at 5.15.
Any ideas - I tried reading/writing on different PC's with different card readers, but always get the same error/behaviour. So maybe it's me?

If it's bootloader 5.17, read the instructions regarding 5.17 on the site...

I have Boot loader 5.15 - ie. the good old one
As I mentioned, I'm running boot loader 5.15, so all the nice tricks applying to 5.17 are not relevant, sorry. Interesting reading, though.
Any ideas why I can't read or write the SD card?

Oops, sorry for not reading your post completely..
No clue. I've been using XDArit extensively over the past few days. And while it's not a miracle of UI design, it does work for me. Using NT/2000/XP ? (It doesn't work on 95/98/ME)

I'm running Windows XP on both the PC's I've been testing with.
Any other clues?

I had the same problem, the SD card was locked as read only... :shock:

Sorry, the SD card is not read-only. But even if it was, shouldn't I be able to read the image from it anyway? I can't read and I can't write - hmmm.

I have solution this problem.
Try anoder type of card in XDArit. For example try the SM card. Because the XDArit not recognize corretly the card type.

In first: Sorry for my english In Second...
It's happen then you use any USB Hub in any type of it. For example if you cardreader don't connect directly to USB port in back of you case, but to any another connector (USB2 on motherboard for example or in you mouse) Try connecting cardreader directly to usb in youe case (motherboard) and all should be OK!

One more thing!
You should use USB 1.1 or 1.0 CardReader, only. Not USB 2.0. This program don't work with this protocol.

How about Usb travel Flash ?
I'm using a 6in1 travel flash. I be able to read up the SD Image backup created by My MDA yesterday using XDArit Read option.
I use XDArit to create a new image and restored back again, it shows that the files are still the original one that created by the MDA not XDArit.
It seems that XDArit not be able to write to the SD Card which was written once.

I'm using WinXP Home SP1 with 5.1.2600 drivers ? any problem
I forget to mention that I'm using WinXP Home edition with SP1.
The usb driver info for this travel flash is 5.1.2600.
Microsoft so said that USB2.0 is included in this SP1.
Any solution ?

dont think so that xdarit cant run on usb 2.0, i use xdarit on billionton usb 2.0, must change the usb mass storage driver to billionton driver cd, xdarit work fine, but when i try this methode in xp mechine it doesnt work coz billionton dont make special driver for xp

Could you try to reformat it?
because I formatted my sd card with my ipaq 3850 then sdcard reader cant write it becaouse of readonly. So if you format it on xda, I think you can write it

HELP. How to update M1000 / XDA II from SD ? Ntrw dont work?

I have Orange M1000 / XDA 2 with 2003 1.60WWE and with damaged USB on its motherboard. I was wondering to update it to WM 5.0. So I copy the update nk.nbf from the lastets version to SD card by ntrw write and run the bootloader... But nothings happend! The bootloader seems to be don't see SD card, it shows only Serial / USB and v 1.03. How to prepare update to run it from SD ? Please HELP.

HTC HD MINI GOLD CARD not work

i have original PSAS latest version i am quite use to it but when i tried it for PHOTON it doesnt let me FLASH THE ROM
i am trying to flash chinese rom any clue whats wrong?

Don´t use cracked version of PSAS.

HD mini goldcard also doesnt work for me... Says GOLDCARD function isnt implemented for newer devices

You have to buy or upgrade to new version.There is everything OK.Don´t try to find SN or crack. Does not work anyway.

Anyone can help me on a Goldcard creation??? (I know, too much to ask)

First install http://freewareppc.com/download/util...ryeditor.shtml or any others PPC registry editor
then open it and in key HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\"00001001" if is 2 then change value from 2 to 1
(HKLM means HKeyLocalMachine)
Connect your mobile phone to Activesync or Win7 mobile phone centrum
Open Qmat 5.6 or PSAS
(must be registered version)
(under Win7 you have to run as Administrator)
1 - go to Calculators\Generators
2 - Generate HTC gold card
3 - chose PHOTON (I guess) and memory card in your phone (must to be formated in fat32)
4 - press get SD card serial from WinCE device
5 - save gold card image to WinCE SD
6 - Restart mobile.
7 - connect Active sync and start flash official shipped ROM

If you have latest PSAS then yes.

Ok,but with vodafone branding RUU 1.11.162.1,
so I can`t flash lower RUU GER or RUU Europe 1.07...
firmware,or I´m wrong?

When you will have generated goldcard, you can flash any original shipped ROM.

I tried that but did not work.
I have the official version and recorded the PSAs
I think you have to install the rom by SD
How do I install the rom by Sd card, anyone know how to enter bootloader mode?

I have put the ROM on my PT HD mini.
I had to extract the rom and rename the file RUU_signed.nbh to PHOTIMG.nbh and copy to the micro sd then enter bootloader mode
To enter bootloader mode:
Pressing the volume - and the power button to same time and then follow the instructions of the screen
Before you have created de gold pass.

Tried both methods
When trying to flash from SD "PHOTIMG.nbh" with goldcard all i get is:
"0028002 Not allow"
I have Goldcard generated with PSAS 1.10 (registered).
When trying to update thru the flasher it hangs on 1% complainig on reseller ID.
Anyone have a solution to this?

Format SD card to FAT32 and try again generate de goldcard and copy de PHOTIMG.nbh do sd card
And try again flash from sd card

Format the SD to FAT32 while having it in a cardreader, under windows 7
Generate Goldcard Image from PSAS 1.10 (while card was in the phone) to SD
Copy the .nbh file to SD
Start phone with Volume down + power.
I still get the 00028002 Not allow
I also tried to manually copy the code from the image to SD by HxD, still the same problem.

just generate your goldcard with SD in other htc device
Works 1000%
in my case i use in HD2!

Didnt work
I tried to make the registry changes but didnt make any difference
I also tried to generate the card in another HTC but still the same.
I also followed the advice in PSAS forum but no sucess
Its like the phone doesent read the goldcard when in bootmode, but card is working good when phone is on.

why the fcuk you think i have cracked version i have latest and its original and purchased including jtag module and what a looser you are when VIPER himself saying its not implemented it correctly yet than wtf you are misguiding people?

First you have to send this cabhttp://xboxmod.sylvester20007.com/cabs/sdcard/DEV_STORAGELOCK.cab with cab sender and then you sould be able to see the card in windows and then format it with sdformater with the option "format size adjustment" . hope this help.
ps: dont forget to unlock it on wp7

just put it in the folder where you have WP7 Update Cab Sender and let it do its thing an when installed go to wp7 program menu and you will find storage lock just run it and unlock micro sd card, power off and put it on card reader .
dont unpack the cab just copy to WP7 Update Cab Sender folder
