Stuck with Radio Stack RSU 4.21.00 - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Device: PW10A1
Originally I have had radio stack with version 4.16 if remember well, but I have experienced some minor problems and decided to updarade. So I have installed RSU 4.21.00, but the situation is much worse now - it looses connection with network after a very short time, turns off the radio module - absolutely nonfunctional.
So I would like to downgrade, but after ~20 different tries nothing worked out
"Failed" after 1% is everything I get.
I've installed XDA-developers special rom to fight with "1% failure" like it described in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby_HT_GSMError but nothing helped.
I have found an idea to upgrade to 6.24 (though it is told not to be suitable for A-type devices) and then to downgrade to 4.16, but it also does not work: not 4.16, nor 6.24 is installable on top of 4.21
Maybe there is a way of flashing Radio Stack through a card?
P.S. Yes I did search the forum before asking the question.
Search on this forum does not work, but I've searched through Google in this forum and have found lots of questions and problems like mine, but none with solution.
P.P.S.
If my situation is unfixable, please write me so, not to loose time on trying to fix it.

I stucked too.
same problem as you:~

Try RSU 3.23. This one looks more "stable" to fix your problem.....

ROM updates / whats new in them?

Hello i just upgraded my QTEK from ROM Version 3.14.06 ENG to ROM Version 3.16.13 ENG and from Radio Version T313 to Radio Version 3.19.01. Everything worked fine and the ROM and the RSU were upgraded with success but idnt find any deffrence the device is still the same as for the GPRS i was hopping that when the device goes to standby it wont disconnect. Any idea what are the changes in the new ROM i have installed and the bugs that were fixed. If there is new ROM updates then the one i got from qtek.dk where are theyand will they work on my QTEK 1010 32MB.
Thanks
<flames>
3.16.13 is CRAP
</flames>
)
use 3.15.15 + 4.16
Where can i get them from?
Thanks for your reply, but where can i find those updates and will they work after the current upgrade that i made. Finally will they work on the Qtek 1010.
Thanks
as I said... 3.16.43 is unofficial and I can't share it... 3.15.15 is out there somewhere (use the Search function )
Couldnt find it!
Hi again i can find the new ROM versions that you instructed me to use instead of the ones i download it. Can you provide me with a direct URL to download the 3.15.15 + 4.16 ROM and will they replace the 3.16.13 Version.
Please advise
Thanks

Interesting. Can you tell me which site you been to that you manage
to upgrade your qtek before?
Sure ,
a while ago you could have found it on www.qtek.dk but for an unkown reason they have removed its link from the main page now you can find here:
http://qtek.dk/software/
Enjoy
be careful how you give information
Hi,
Please be very careful how you give out information.
You have screwed up I believe many people who got
their device frozen and cannot be used after trying to
upgrade the ROM and Radio Stack from the website
you provide without warning people of the serious
damage it could cause if the Rom & Radio Stack
upgrade is not from the same source.
It is good that you are trying to help people but I hope
you could continue doing it BUT please give a complete
and proper advise. Hope you get my message.

I expect people who buy this device to have a certain amount of IQ. Everybody knows flashing them IS dangerous, so they should know as much as possible on the item.
Before I flashed the device for the first time, I've already read EVERYTHING which is in the ROM Upgrade forum and everything which mentions ROM on this site. I knew which is the best, I knew where to get it, I knew I can screw it up and I knew how to NOT screw it.
It's peoples fault if they brick their units.
i dont know where to start with this but i should agree with Zviratko 100%
we expect people who buy this devices to have a certain amount of IQ and knowledge most of us here are pros.
Please understand that if you dont know what you are dealing with dont bother doing it. Read all the forums and pages of Xda-developers they contain the biggest archives about those products, learn then apply.
Zviratko is one of these important resources learn from him i know i did!

Re qtek 1010 rom update
could you please tell me where you got your rom update from. I have been tearing my hair off trying to get the right update. Some genius upgraded using the O2 upgrade and killed his QTEK.

Unlocking radio 4.20

We currently have two clues which seem to indicate there may be a problem unlocking Radio 4.20. Specifically, there may be a problem with the %UREG command.
Please note that this is as of yet unconfirmed. However, we would at this point advise anyone upgrading to 4.20 to unlock before upgrading.
It would help if we had an RSU package for Radio 4.20, so we could look at the ROM and see what happened. Was Radio 4.20 part of any of the upgrades out there?
Also: I'd like to hear any and all stories concerning the use of The Manipulator on Radio 4.20.
Hi chaps
Thanks for this post! I was getting worried it was me sat here!
Can I be of assistance in some way with my 4.20 Radio XDA - can I offload and upload you a copy of the RSU info you require???
If so, let me know what to do and I am more than willing to help.
Regards
Rog
Sorry I hadn't logged in. The above post was from me.
Rog
My XDA came with Radio version 4.20.00 and ROM version 3.16.32 ENG
I will have an SD card soon so I can send any files from my XDA to you. As long as you tell me how to do this.
I would like to unlock mine and change the IMEI code on it as well but as i am not an experienced user i am not willing to try it first until it has been confirmed that this definately works with my ROM and Radio versions.
By the way
what is a RSU package??
RSU
I have the RSU for 4.20 if you would like it.

RSU is the Radio Stack Utility.....
The "Programm" that is needed for the Phone Functions.

Stefan
The same problem seems to exist once the QTEK ROM/Radio upgrades have been installed on an XDA. The XDA is working perfectly, but XDA-Manipulator isn't accessing anything...it just reports errors.
can you still use hyperterminal to access the XDA and find the unlock code?
NO, hyperterminal and dualser command doesn't work.
We await progress! - Have the developers got hold of Radio 4.20 to play with yet I wonder??
Rog
Is there anyway to take the BIOS back to an earlier version?
Not unless you can get the existing commands to work.
Bit of a chicken and egg situation here! Without dualser UREG function you cant do anything. Therefore you cant get back to an earlier version either!
Rog
I have a couple of these phones with this version (4.20) on them, tried them all with Manipulator 1.02 but all wouldnt work, im willing to "test" any new methods of unlocking them, if anyone has any ideas let me know, i'll be glad to help
We have a 4.20 RSU, and thus we have the image.
We've held off looking at 4.20 specifically, and currently some precious spare time is being spent on looking at the way the RSU upgrade process works. This would, among other things, give anyone the ability to unlock without needing a serial cable. We've come a long way, but some work is still in progress. And people have less time than they'd like to have, and stuff.
You're all due a magnificent set of new tools (coming soon!), and some further explanations and documentation regarding the inner workings of the Radio Interface Layer (RIL), and more.
Stay tuned...
Talk about whetting the appetite!
We await with eager anticipation and an offer of help if you need it.

Is there any idea of release date to support the unlocking of the 4.20 Radio

WM2003

I was looking at the website for "Traffic-I". This is a subscription system for traffic info (and a sort of GPS ?)
The free trial refers to XDA2 not XDA1. I assume that is because the XDA2 has W2003 0n as standard?
Is it possible to upgrade my O/S to 2003. I'm not sure what version i have as i bought mine used.
Thanks

Yes you can do it my recommendation persists just on upgrading the RUU not the RSU, there's a lots of threads posting how to upgrade to WM2003, search, read more and learn
Thanks for the tips. I assume then that upgrading the RUU only, will allow all Wm2003 programs to work on my device. This upgrade is reversible if the threads regarding original back ups are followed?

Yes what you need is upgrading the RUU. It will allow all wm2003 to work on ur unit, thus you could back up as well your original default rom before installing the one that you'll cook
Ok thanks for that. I'l llook up how to back up old ROM first then get my oven gloves on and start cooking
Where Can I Download ROM WM2003
i try up grade to wm2003 T-Mobile 4.00.21 but i cant do cause i have Error message my machine use PW10A1, that version just for PW10B1..
So how can i get version for my machine??
Now i use :
ROM. 3.20.06
RS 4.01.
4.00.21 is very outdated ... try 4.01.16 and don't worry about the version as long as you do NOT touch the RSU part
Where ??
Where i can download ROM 4.01.16 have u or give me link

I've had to stop using my XDA for the moment. It's a great piece of kit but the incoming signal quality is quite poor (Compared to a normal mobile) I've missed several calls that have gone straight to my answerphone when i normally never miss any. There are some threads about signal quality but shouldnt this be built in from new as being totaly reliable. Any comments appreciated.
RSU flashing might help ... but it's VERY risky

Yes point taken on that!. To be quite honest the RUU part of the XDA (The programs etc) work really well and i'm not too bothered about any mods there. I'ts just that i use it for work and i can't really afford to miss calls and not being an expert in these things i find it hard to accept that the incoming signal quality is dependant on what sort of RUU software you have.
I suppose that as i'm not using it at all, and upgrading is risky but recoverable? and if it was out of action temporarily whilst a software failure was being put right then this would not be a problem for me. What i would worry about is if it all went belly up would i be able to get help on restoring it back to it's former glory?
Doug
recovering failed RSU flashing is a very tough process, and might not work as well ... you have to be very careful.
As a matter of fact, I 've done many RSU flashing before and all went OK ... but I know about many horrible stories about dead devices that can't be repaired except by h/w replacement.
If you can't really use it, it's ok to go for RSU flashing but pick the right RSU upgrade ... and stay away from O2 RSU 4.21
OK Biso007 i think you have convinced me. I think i will reluctantly sell the XDA (Someone will get a bargain as it has TT3 and maps on it) and wait a little while and see what else comes up.
Cheers
Doug

It is a sad fact that many gsm errors render the xda useless as a phone, it maybe that you have now only a pda.
it is truly sad.. i tried to test 1 board of xda to my xda yet its a failure . i need a board w/ a good condition. this is the only easiest solution to this problem, changing board. No one here i think can help to have a software recovery. how sad! :-(
hope WE CAN SOLVE this ISSUE ASAP... to help many XDA users with dead phone.
I fix all problems!
if you can try to help us
no one here can really solved this kind of problem i think thru software recovery..cgigate have a hardware solution but u need to send the unit to him. His in the other side of my world..tsk tsk tsk

I've tried a lot of roms, rsu's, with and without sim card. No success. I also wait for a hardware solution with european location...

thinking of upgrading......pls help

im thinking of upgrading to xplode's WM6.1 Pro CE OS 5.2.19209 (Build 19209.1.0.2). took me quite a while to consider this upgrade, though.
but before i do so, i want to upgrade my radio rom and bluetooth stack first. question, what's the latest radio rom? is it 1.15.00 as i have read in the wiki? and how about for the BT stack version, is 1.0.0.3900 the latest? coz i've searched and found a 1.7 or something like that(its kind of a large jump from 1.0.0xxx version to 1.7, don't you think?). oh, it says BT broadcomm 1.7.1, are those the same thing?
please, could someone give me some information about these. im not new to upgrading ROMs, im on wm6 now.(so stupid of me not to upgrade the radio and BT stack for wm6, though. just bare with me) thanks guys.
oh btw, are there some more steps i need to do before the rom upgrade?
the latest radio rom is 1.15.00
you don´t need to update bluetooth stack, because it´s only a driver for wm 2003 se.
hope that help !
thanks. so all i need to upgrade right now is the radio version? oh, btw, i wanna do a ROM dump so i can backup my current ROM to an SD card. but the link in the wiki seems to be not working. i remember that a file or program is needed to do the dump.
you need Multi-Port/USB TTY
it´s the attached file.
greetings from germany
David
thanks again. i still cant open that part on wiki, it just says "problem loading page". all i need to do to use this file is just run it? no other instructions?
edit: there is an included .txt file on the zip which i think explains how to use the file, i couldnt read it coz its in german. sorry.
Read, read, read!!!

Before you do anything it is strongly recommended to read the usage of the mtty app because you can screw your device with an inappropriate usage.
Just an advice because mtty is a service app.
I suppose you should wait till that part of the wiki will be available again.
Or try Google
yeah, i am actually doing a lot of reading right now. im gonna search for info on this mtty. thanks. oh, something i've read on a thread, its not necessary to do a hard reset after radio upgrade on wm5. how about in wm6? do we need to do a hard reset? so i wouldnt have to do a ROM dump. just so i could slash out some steps in doing this upgrade.
