T-Mobile USA Cab Required For GPRS/MMS etc - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Has anybody out there created a T-Mobile USA settings cab file?
I think that with all the flashing going on somebody must have created one for easy settings restore?? maybe??
I would very much appreciate it if somebody could send one my way...
Also, is it true that T-Mobile USA has free data with a Pre Paid SIM?? I was reading that if you install a prepaid SIM you get free Edge data?

use this link to do it yourself..not cab. i mean just plug in the data:
http://www.theody.net/t-mobile.html
word of warning.. in there it lists the network address as xx.xx.xx.050 put it in as xx.xx.xx.50.
love them typos.

Vario NL > UK

Hi just bought a Vario and it's dutch. I hate devices which talk dutch to me so I was thinking of uploading the UK ROM into it. I've already unlocked the SIM and CID.
Can I do this without problems? Will I still keep my Internet Totaal settings and such?
Yes, it can be done no problem, only you will invoke your warrenty. You will have to re-enter the settings manually if you cant find them here.
I've had look in the extended ROM and there's alot of t-mobile related "crap" there. I think the settings are in there aswell. Can anybody confirm this? and will the extended ROM be preserved when I upload a different ROM?
You will loose all ammounts and information when you re-flash your ROM its just the same as formatting your computer, so take a note of your totals and you'll just have to remember to include them.
Well thats just the problem. T-Mobile over here has a package called "Pocket Internet Total" which gives you unlimited GPRS and unlimited WiFi access. The GPRS settings I can lookup but I have no idea what todo with the WiFi settings.
Some dutch people on this board did the same... I'd like to hear from them and what todo with the WiFi stuff.
I've attached all the original extended ROM stuff to this post.

Cingular 8525 with T-Mobile

Hello,
I have been using an unlocked Singular 8525 with my T-Mobile SIM. I have some questions if anyone can help:
1) I can not open any attachments and get an error saying that there was an internal error opening the attachment. The attachment size looks like "0B"
2) I do not know the MMS settings for T-Mobile. I have been unsuccessful in setting that up.
3) Is it true that to use the 3G features of a phone, I would need a 3G SIM?
4) Do you think it is feasible to just format the phone and load it with the T-Mobile MDA software since both the phones use the same software?
Thank You,
Tony

If your having trouble with the T-Mobile US settings use the cab file in my signature should work for you, next time look around and search rather then starting a new thread, this is posted all over or try and search in networking forum for your answer in regards to settings.

You have purchased the data plan correct? The monthly internet plan...
1. Have you called Tmobile about this?
2. I called them and withing 30 minutes i was doing fine...
3. That is true, you wont have 3g speeds becuase tmobile doesnt have 3d service yet. they told my about the end of the summer... but whatever.
4. im not advanced like most people on this forum, i have no idea.

nope no 3g service yet. but even when they do have it you wont be able to use it with your 8525. their 3g rollout i believe will be on the 1700mhz band. 8525 doesnt support that band.
also the connection settings for the total internet plan are
internet2.voicestream.com (not wap.voicestream.com)
check this thread for mms settings
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298222
I have a 8525 and T-Mobile Total Internet, but...
Here's the settings that I tried per suggestion of this site and others:
Network name: T-Mobile Data
Access point: internet2.voicestream.com
UN/PW: (blank)
Proxy: none
This did not work with Internet Explorer. My email setup for IMAP mail through GMail worked though. So I tried this:
Access point: internet2.voicestream.com
UN/PW: (blank)
Proxy: HTTP=216.155.165.50:8080
This also did not work with IE. So I tried this:
Proxy: HTTP (same as above), WAP=216.155.165.50:9201, Secure WAP=216.155.165.50:9201
Same thing, didn't work. I changed the access point to wap.voicestream.com, and IE works but it always wants to use the WSP protocol (not the case when I use a standard WiFi connection and I thought this would change when I got the Total Internet package)
I thought that I wouldn't need to set up proxy server settings on my phone at all when I got Total Internet. Any thoughts as to why I still have to? I had TMobileweb before and had to enter the proxy servers before.

X01HT(Hermes200) & AT&T's MediaNet Max

I just got this X01HT(Hermes200) with WM6 (Schap's 3.30c ROM) from eBay, and I am new to this forum. I am thinking to sign up with AT&T's MediaNet Max plan. Since it is NOT a Cingular 8525 phone "officially" supported by AT&T, I suspect the settings to access MediaNet and Cingular Video could be different, and if I call AT&T, they will not help because I am not using the phone they support. Could anybody help with the settings, or is there already a link (I searched and did not find it)? Thanks!

Mike
Thanks Mike for the links. But they are for Cingular (AT&T) 8525 which AT&T supports (meaning with Media Net URL already coded in the Today screen and in the AT&T ROM ? etc.) , and mine is X01HT with a non-AT&T ROM. I copied Cingular Video's URL from my son's AT&T-supported phone onto the PIE Address Bar on my X01HT, and the return error message said "CV is only available on supported 3G phones." But I know for a fact that my X01HT is a 3G phone...
Trying to follow the instructions on the second link, I did not even have Media Net on the "Select Networks" list so I could not go any further. I must be missing something and obviously a hopeless newbie. Perhaps some links specifically for using X01HT(Hermes200) with AT&T's Media Net would help to propel me into the wonderful world of MediaNetitng...
There are all different way to use the X01HT on AT&T network. If you don't mind use WM5, the esaliest way is to just DL the latest rom for AT&T - http://www.america.htc.com/support/8525/software-downloads.html.
If you want WM6, then you have to setup the MediaNet connection manuelly.

Hi maximuz329, thanks for your 3 postings responding to my question. The last one's link really helps. Now I can browse the net with URL typed into the address bar. One more question: what is the URL for Cingular Video for my X01HT(Hermes200), or any other way to access it beside typing-in the URL? Thanks again.

For cingular video..you need to make sure your proxy setting are correct. However I would recommend that you flash your phone with vpg's rom...and all will work for you :

Get the lastest one from vp3G... the 3.60 version

HELP: vodafone internetflat in germany

I currently am using a Vodafone prepaid card in Germany and I just added the live! InternetFlat package (http://www.vodafone.de/privat/tarife/prepaid-ohne-vertrag.html) however I always get a dialing error when I attempt to set it up. Can someone tell me what the settings are?
I'm not sure if this is the wrong place to post it, but i thought it would be easier to give instructions knowing which phone I am using.
Maybe their service page for connections?
But then again, with a prepaid service, details might differ...
I tried that...and either I'm typing something in the wrong fields or my german is even worse than I thought :S

Using At&t MMS and web on unlocked T-mobile HTC wing

Hey,
I recently bought an unlocked htc wing from overstock.
Also know as the herald, and the XDA Terra.
I'm just trying to unlock the full abilities of the phone so i can use the web and mms.
I am using an at&t sim card.
This was a huge upgrade from my lg xenon (phone was piece of crap!)
The wing is running windows mobile 6.
If anyone can help me it would be very appreciated!
I understand that i have to change some settings, but i need help!
Solution for unlocking !

MOD EDITED
Not quite sure why the poster above gave you information to unlock your unlocked phone. I am using my wing on At&t as well. To get the network setup all you need is a .cab file called, Network Wizard.
http://rapidshare.com/files/66087193/HTC_Network_Wizard_KAISER_1_0_29981_1.cab
Click on the link to download. Install on Wing and select the country and carrier and it automatically configures the device for you. I do suggest you delete old connection profiles like the t-mobile or any others you created just to speed up the actual connection process to the internet. If for some reason Network Wizard does not work properly you can manually edit the settings to connect to At&t. Here is what I used in the past before finding the Network Wizard.
http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/...ianet&message.id=12157&query.id=850977#M12157
For MMS all you need to install is ArcSoft. Do a search and you will easily find the .cab file for installation. That cab will give you fully functioning MMS with threaded messaging (see the whole conversation).
Good luck.
