Original T-mobile MDA Compact III ROM - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

I have a original rom on my phone right now, but i want to try some others,
can anyone tell me if i can make a complete backup of the phone as it is right now? So that if i do not like (or the other one doesn't work) the new rom can put my old rom back?
Greetings Kevin

Backup original rom before upgrading

Hi to all,
I just noticed that a new rom for jasjar has been released.
I've a Vodafone 1640 and it is from my company.
I'd like to test the new rom on that, but I'd like to know if there is a way to restore the original vodafone rom, in case they want the pda back.
Do you know if thereis any problem to upgrate the V1640 rom with the latest downloadable from Imate ?

MDA Vario ROM

Hi guys
Just a quick question and I hope you guys can answer me.
I have got the MDA Vario with T-Mobile and have upgraded the ROM to 2.17.7.2 WWE (this is the Qtek Rom) and it works just great.
My question is, however, can I downgrade this ROM to the original T-Mobile ROM it came with?
I am wondering since I want to send the phone back to T-Mobile but am worried if they see I have upgraded it they will not take it back.
Please help.
Thanks kindly
You'll need to use lokiwiz to unlock the device and then reinstall the opriginal ROM. As you have an AKU2 ROM you'll need to downgrade the ROm first to an old custom QTEk ROM and then run lokiwiz to unlock then re-install the ROM. There s along post on this forum or the upgrade forum on how to do this. There are alos posts re putting the device back into it's original state if you need to ship it back to a vendor - can't find them just now but would suggest you trawl the forums... painful though it may be
Hey thanks loads. I have looked around to try and find how to restore everything but can't find it yet. I'll carry on looking but if you can suddenly remember where they are I'd appreciate it
Also, do I have to downgrade the QTek ROM first, or can I just install the T-Mobile ROM straight away?
Thanks again

Does it matter that the link above looks like it is for US? I have UK T-Mobile
DaveyG th solution is explained at http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...IBwAAABi/2UG&bcsi_scan_filename=viewtopic.php
If you want a TMo UK ROM got ot the TMo UK Site http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/mdas.html
Thanks JoninLA, the phone is unlocked using Loki already as that is how I upgraded the ROM, but I will make sure I have unlocked it and then install the original ROM from the T-Mobile site.
Thanks so much again, now I should be able to send it back, providing it all works...

I have an HTC TyTn with a Portuguese ROM on it and I am thinking on trying the WM6 BETA ROM (I am superCID and not by Crack)
Is there any way to backup the original ROM from a TyTn device????
I would like to keep the original ROM just in case and Vodafone PT doesn't supply it...

the wiki is a good source of information
I am also thinking about trying out one of the WM6 ROMs but would like the option of downgrading to my UK T-Mobile ROM (1.21.110.3) if I need to for any reason. I've had a look through the wiki info and found a page that contains a dump of my current 1.21.110.3 ROM but it states:
Dumped or Modified Roms Available For Your Hermes
NOTE: It is NOT POSSIBLE to flash or replace the ROM on your device with one of these.

So is there anyway to downgrade back to 1.21.110.3 ROM if it's not possible to flash or replace my Vario II using the dump?
If I was to follow this reconstruction guide does that mean I'll be able to flash my device with my original ROM that I dumped from my Vario II?

Backup Default Rom

Hey
New to this forum. I've read through many of the threads but can't seem to find a definitive answer. Sorry for being a noob
I'm about to buy an Australian Version of the Imate KJAM aka HTC Wizard.
1. Which program would I use to backup the rom/everything etc so I can go back to original mode?
2. I've been reading about upgrading to WM6.0 Does this run faster than WM5.0? And which of the custom packs would be best?
3. Why is it recommended that to flash to T-Mobile's base 2.26 rom, then flash NBD 7.6. What is the point of this? Arn't these both ROMS? It would just overwrite the T Mobile 2.26 rom? Can someone clarify this for me.
Thanks!!

1. I don't follow this question. What exactly do you mean, "go back to original mode"?
2. WM6 is superior to WM5. Since you've been reading a lot of the forum, you know that there's a good bit involved in upgrading.
3. IPL and SPL are the "Initial" and "Secondary" Program Load. If you think of your phone like a computer, it's sort of like the BIOS.
"I don't follow this question. What exactly do you mean, "go back to original mode"?"
For example, currently on WM5.0 If i upgrade the rom which comes with WM6.0, would I be able to restore it back to WM5.0
I have the same exact problem. I would love to try and unlock my wizard and put wm6 on it. I have bought my t-mobile mda used, it is the german version (has Y and Z swapped on the slideout keyboard). Since when I received it it has wm5 in italian (I live in italy and I am italian). I am assuming someone put it there (so it has been unlocked i figure) instead of the german wm5. Now my questions are:
1) Can I backup my whole rom so I can go back to my original italian wm5 (same question as dvd107)?
2) if my phone has already been unlocked can I know in any way? Is there any risk in cid/sim unlocking it again if it is already unlocked? (I think it is sim unlocked since all sims work with it)
Thank you very much

Restoring ROM

I've XPhone II and I want to restore to original ROM, where can I have it???? Please help...
original ROM = (Stock ROM)
www.shipped-roms.com is a place to look (but offline). Otherwise it can be backed up from the device to mini-SD card, look up xda-dev. for "r2sd -all" command. For that to work however, the device has to have super-CID rights. Getting this is part of the preparations for loading cooked ROMs.
just saw this! i was able to restore my o2 xphone IIm about a month ago by using a o2 xphone II mobo... and i'm dearly looking for the exact rom for my device... glad that i found this!
