Just somewhere this last weekend, my TyTn refused to store images taken with the camera on/to the storagecard. I cannot select the storagecard thru the capture-settings.
The storage-card is accesible thru the explorer without any trouble.
Very strange. Have searched the forum, but cannot find a solution, my ext. Rom is hidden. So, anyone experienced the same problem.
I do run Schaps 3.54c

When in the camera application what two locations does it offer you as save locations?
Did you enable the Network Folder? If so see here:
Usually the camera only asks about storage card when you have just inserted a new card OR you have the "network" folder enabled.
Now unfortunately the camera is only capable of saving to one of two locations at any one time so:
If the view network folder is NOT enabled you will be offered:
"Main" or Storage card" and once set it will remember your choice and not ask again.
BUT
with Network folder enabled and a storage card inserted you will:
be asked if you want to use "StorageCard" every time you start Camera, but in camera tools you will only be offered "Main" or "Network" even if you chose the card. It will not set to storage card even if you said you wanted this when camera started.
So, if you want to use main memory with a storage card inserted and don't want the silly question about using storage card each time, then you must disable the network folder. (Use Resco or File Commander to do this - forget now if regukar File Explorer does it)
Equally if you want to save to storage card you will also need "network" folder disabled otherwise it will save to Main memory even when you say yes to Storage Card on start up of application.
The default setting for the Network folder is disabled, so if you are having problems it is likely to have been enabled by using the likes of Resco or Total Commander.

Thanks !!
Thanks Mike Channon...it worked very well !!!

after several reg hacks and program installs, a lot of files and folders on my storage card are not there. For example the folder "Program Files" is not there so my apps are gone, also DCIM which has all my pics from my digital camera.
I know the files are still there because Its a 1 gig card and on spb today plug in it sas 570mb used but when i open it and select all the files and folders available and click on properties it says they are only 223mb so i'm missing 347mb worth of files, most of them pics which i really want, they're from my vacation last week and still haven't backed them up!
----------edit--------------------------------------------
got it!! i thought about it and figured out this wasn't a ppc specific problem, so i did some research, first got a couple hits to some websites that assist you in recovering pics off digital camera memory cards and figured out all i needed was a data recovery program. I used GetDataBack and its working perfectly!
hi
am having exactly the same problem. do you need a special format of getdataback to install on the wizard? once you find the files do you copy them elsewhere or do they just then show up on the memory card?
thanks
Is there any way or registry hack, to specify an alternate folder where WM will take the Themes (.tsk files)?
I know WM by default searches the '\Windows' and '\My Documents' folders, as well as their subfolders.
However I'd like to store my Themes in a folder located at the Storage Card, in order to save PDA memory space.
Doesn't it already do that? I've got several themes sat on my storage card and they show up when I go into Today properties. However, I believe they do need to be on the ROOT of the card, not in a folder.
Cheers
Ant
Thanks, I'll check it.
However my intention was excatly to put them into a dedicated subfolder on the Storage Card.
And that still needs a solution, if I do not want to use some 3rd party Themes Manager.
Correct! It works, if .tsk files get copied to Storage Card root.
However not really what I'm looking for :?
Thanks! Something new learnt anyway
Friends,
I have searched through the threads and WIKI to try to find a way to get rid of the problem where when you are running programs from your storage card and use more than one, somehow the device starts to register the primary storage card as being on the device, and then treats the actual storage card as Storage Card 2. It's a big problem for me because now none of my programs from the storage card will run from what has now been relabelled "Storage Card 2" on the device. It seems to have something to do with the way the Microsoft programs automatically store to a card for Email and Internet explorer cookies.
I found the following procedure in the WIKI and tried to follow it, but I'm obviously not doing it right. It would probably be very helpful if I understood registry editing better, but I'm not sure what the exact pathnames are that I should follow to make the changes and follow the procedure below. Someone with more computer background would probably "just know." Specifically, how do I get to the IEM that is referred to below?
I would really be grateful if somehow who gets this could patiently explain exactly how to get into the right area of the registry. I don't want to screw up my device.
Thanks.

Here are the instructions. I just need help being told how to find the IEM reg hack location referred to below, so I know what to change to "test."
--------------------------------------------------------------
If you are seeing Storage Card and Storage Card2 in your File Explorer, follow these steps to fix the problem:
1. Went into Messages-Menu-Tools-Options-Storage and unclicked 'Store attachments on storage card'.
2. Opened a Total Commander (or any other ?RegEdit Tool) and changed the IEM reg hack entires. In the cookies, cookies and history keys, I changed 'Storage Card' to 'test'.
3. Opened IE so that 'test' will be created in the root directory of the Mobile Device.
4. Soft reset.
5. Opened file explorer and deleted Storage Card from the root directory of the Mobile Device.
6. Soft reset. When rebooted, Storage Card 2 should be Storage Card.
7. Opened a Total Commander (or any other ?RegEdit Tool) and changed the IEM reg hack entires. In the cookies, cookies and history keys, I changed 'test' back to 'Storage Card'.
8. Deleted the IEM folder from Storage Card. (Didn't know if this was necessary but felt that it couldn't hurt).
9. Opened IE to create IEM on Storage Card.
10. Soft rest.
11. Deleted 'Test' from the root directory of the Mobile Device.
12. Performed the Reg Hack in this thread.
13. Sent the message attachments back to Storage Card.[/i][/i][/i]
easier Way to do this
Folks,
I found an easier way to do this. You can simply rename the "Storage Card" file in Internet Explorer and the device will then read the real storage card as "Storage Card" instead of "Storage Card 2." Of course, I am now stuck with a folder named "test" that I can't delete because it has a bunch of "index" system files in it. But so far, this seems like it fixed my major frustration.
If anyone wants to talk me through how to delete the new "test" file to get rid of the indexes, I would welcome that.
Thanks.
i got XDA Trion, but for some reason when i start the camera, it will prompt me that i have installed a storage device and if i wish to have it as my default storage for my pics and videos. However it never does, i cant even choose the storage card as a means activating it as a default storage. i got 2GB sandisk Mircro SD. Can someone help me or if theres already been a thread like this, post the link coz i tried the search but i couldnt find any similiar to the problem that i have. regards.
It's most likely because either you or an application has enabled the network folder. See here:

Mike
How to?
So how do i disable it then? sorry but im a noob so please bare with
Ok, as I can't remember if you can enable/disable the network folder in the File Explorer (already installed on your device). I suggest you download Total Commander:
arm/xscale/pxa
This downloads a cab file that you move directly to your SD card and then on the phone tap the file to install it to your storage card (with me so far?)
Once you get it installed let us know and someone will tell you how to disable the network folder using Total Commander.
By the way Total Commander is a very nice application that has many uses as I'm sure you will learn if you hang around XDA-Dev for a while.
Mike
Cool!
Thank you, i got it sorted now, my camera saves all the pics and vids on my storage card now.
Hello everyone,
I'm using French Sunrise rom from Miammiam, posted also on this forum.
And since the last version 2.1 my storage card is always renamed storage card 2 after a soft reset.
I never had this problem with my previous rom Sunrise 1.4, didn't have this problem, but I already encounter this issue on some other rom like Leo rom's, and miri's.
I already tried everything I found on this forum or using google.
As informations I didn't change IE cache path, I'm just storing my emails on the storage card.
I hope some one can help me.
Best regards,

Nonolk.
I think that you have a hiden folder called "Storage card" on the root of your device.
rename this folder o delete it then every thing will be right.
Hello,
Thank's for your answer but Event if I delete the newly created folder then soft reset the phone, it change nothing my storage card is again named "Storage card 2".
There is no hidden folder, on the root of my phone I checked it with total commander.
On the other hand after deleting the newly created foler called "storage card" then ejecting my sd card and inserting back the card is again called " Sorage card" but after a soft reset it's again called "storage card 2".
In anyway thank you for your reply.

Try using Resco File Explorer and define there that you want to see hidden (system) files. You may locate an original directory with that name.
I had this problem twice. I my case this problem was probably due to starting up TomTom when connected by USB with my computer.
hey if it aint broke dont fix it...
