Hi, I wanted to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311225&highlight=touch , dialer on my 6800, but it doesnt work with the system menus, the stuff liek ##DATA# and the like.
Please tell me how to make it work, or if anyone is kind enough to do so, can you please modify it to work on the Titan. I am new to this stuff, and I dont want to mess with anything that much, this is my first Windows Mobile device, so please if you can help me out. Thanks.
Go here it's fixed to work with CDMA by Paul Hammons
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/91652-sprint-native-big-button-dialer-theme-here.html
thanks for posting this mate, but i already tried this one, and i didnt like it, the ## stuff works, but it felt a bit more sluggish, and the blue was freaking me out. lol, i just want one where its the true touch dialer, like the one that was posted here for the wizard. Thanks for the reply though, god i wish i knew how to do this crap, lol.
Oh, I also tried an addon that was posted in taht thread where it made it look like the original touch one, but it too feels sluggish on my mogul for some reason, and when you dial numbers, it brings up that old menu type thing for recent callers, which overlaps teh backspace button, instead of just using the space in teh window.
If you turn off tones in the options menu it'll get rid of the lag.

what do you mean by tones? color tones or sounds?
sound tones.
also, while you are in the options menu, if you turn off smartdialing, you won't get that overlapping box and numbers will show up on the top row. I personally think smartdialing is too valuable, despite any cosmetic flaws.
just wished i can send an sms from the smartdialing window.

Ok, so I am one of those people who wants to make my MDA like the iPhone.
So far i have added the launcher (like 0.986 or somethin), the slider 1.3... the sweet iContacts1.3 (its blackish). umm, changed my dialer skin, calculater skin kinda. anyway...
Is there any way that i can get the iContacts to show up and my default contacts thing ( i like it a TON!!). So, when i hit the right soft key or w/e, the contacts button... how can i make that be the iContacts (its not an option for customizing buttons ). Also is there a way to just change the contacts to that... like the skin for the phone.. can you get the contacts to always be iContacts.. for everything.
Ok.. next. how can i get the iphone keyboard as my keyboard? I found this one keyboard thing, but you couldn't install it or anything.
Finally is there any way to have your phone start in the iphone theme?, so you turn it on and its just there? (and like the slider thing... somebody said that waists memory (i still have the animation on the letters)).
ok, if there's anything i missed.... what is it, that will make my phone, an iphone? Thanks.

Why don't you just buy an unlocked iPhone? It's less work...
Anyways, if you go to lakeridgesoftware.com, there are a few extras there like Wisbar that will help you get your iphone theme to look a little nicer and if you want certain apps to start when you turn the phone on, just use resco explorer to create shortcuts in the startup folder. That should do it.
As far as the keyboard is concerned, check this out. There are a couple of people who have written iPhone keyboard themes for it in the PocketCM Keyboard phorum. Check here and here, for example.
Also, have you checked out PocketCM Contact? Might be some fun.
I haven't played with the whole iPhone theme thing much, but a suggestion I'd have to get it to come up on boot would be to create a shortcut for the theme and put it into the \\Windows\Startup directory.
That can be done easily using TotalCommander by highlighting the .exe (or whatever) you want to run, clicking "File",">>>>>>","Create shortcut", and then navigating to \\Windows\Startup in the tree.
Hope some of that is helpful.
i searched a ton of the threads and have found a lot of these questions asked, but not answered. so please if anyone can help me i am clueless with this. i dont like to touch registry stuff unless i absolutely have to, but i am willing to DL other programs like SIPChange to get stuff to work. anyway:
1. i am able to send texts via PocketCM which i think is awesome, but when i get a text, my phone no longer vibrates like it used to be4 PocketCM took over. is there anything i can do to fix this?
2. related to that one, can i make PocketCM my default text app? cuz it still pops up as new text notification and if i hit reply it goes to the WM default one
3. since ive been screwing around trying to solve these myself... i held down the phone icon, bringing up a new set of tabs, and went to the one all the way to the left. that brought up the default contacts page. now when i click on contacts on my screen, it brings that up instead of the incredible PocketCM! this is heartbreaking since i want PocketCM to be my default everything. even if i restart PocketCM it now defaults back to the Windows Contacts page...
any help at all is appreciated, thanks in advance
put this command inside the settings.ini of the skin (.cmt) file.

1. Not sure without looking into it further.
2. On my device I disabled the new text notification. Its now setup that whenever a new text msg comes in it goes to the pocketcm sms screen. The most recent msg's are at the top. Not sure how to change the reply button though.
3. Happened to me.. did a soft reset and it was back to normal again. Give that a try.
Also pocketcm has a forum on their site (www.pocketcm.com). Might wanna try there if you don't get the answers.

3. soft reset worked! thank you.
2. thats a good idea ill do that and if anything it will trick me into thinking that PocketCM is my default
1. soft reset actually fixed this too, but im wary that it might change...
as for shekhar, what issue is that addressing? making PocketCM the default text app?
thanks a lot for your help
Is there a way to make SPB use, and bring up the PocketCM functions? For instance, when I get a text, and click the text messages icon under the Clock, i'd like it to go to PocketCM, instead of the Windows client. Same as for contacts.
I've been trying for a long time to make my HTC mogul actually work correctly. It always seems like GUI's (And trust me, I've used almost everthing) fail somehow. SPB seems a little better than most, except for this issue.
It would be REALLY nice if someone had a solution...

...I'm looking for a specific answer.
It's not a noob question, and probably isn't simple.
This is not a noob question but sounds like one to me...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384448
A simple google search reveals the answer.
Hmm. That solves part of the problem, but what about text messages?
God, I've looked everywhere. There has to be some way to change where SPB's text message icon, below the clock, directs too....
Somone please help?
Wow! Relax, take a breather, inhale..................exhale. OK.
So, even with setting PocketCM as the default app for the SMS and contacts, the WM apps still show?
Wooa, where do I set this?
Sorry, I've been searching for answers all friggin' day..
Just press & hold on the far right button, don't use anymore so I forget which it is but it's on the right, the second row will appear, slide to the gears, or whatever graphic looks like settings, each theme will be different. Then you should see it in the settings.
Don't see make it default.
"Bring PocketCM to front" is the closest, and it's checked, and does nothing.
I could've sworn there was a "make default" setting.
Man, My version must suck than, cause i'm stuck without one...
....Still no answer...
I've got a cooked rom and it's great but only one annoyance. When the call history page is up, I can't highlight several calls at once like in the normal T-mobile/Wing rom. Instead either just selects the first call I touch or it'll start scrolling like an iphone.
That's the problem... I just want to be able select a group of calls at once (like several calls between x:xx and x:xx) so I can delete them quickly.
Is there something in the registry I can change to revert it back to non scrolling function? Even though it's a cooked rom, the call history page looks exactly stock... so I figure they just changed something in registry.
It's the "touch.dll" that gives you the "touch" ability. It's doing its job.
Thanks, that identifies the "problem" as I see it. Is there any way I can change it... like just deleting the "touch.dll" file?

If you did that, your touch screen wouldn't work. Using the old non-hacked touch.dll would make it so that you had to use the scroll bars to scroll.
Hi,
Only had my HD2 for a couple of days having come from iphone and have a couple of gripes with it. Maybe it's just me though as never had a windows phone before.
When using opera internet browser you have to zoom in quite a bit to press links, which I find a little annoying. I've tried skyfire which is much better, but you can't use pinch/zoom. Is there a browser that has the best of both worlds?
Is there a quick way to turn bluetooth on/off without having to go into settings?
Is there a quick link to profiles? I know if you hold the end call button you can select between vibrate or ringer, but not silent. I must admit, this is one thing I liked about the iphone, there was a simple switch to change from silent/ringer without having to turn the phone on and press buttons.
When making/receiving calls sometimes the screen comes back on and my ear presses other functions, or disconnects the call. Has there not been a fix for this issue yet?
The call quality isn't great, sometimes the caller distorts on certain words/letters
And finally, is there any way to change the vibrate? Can it be set to 'pulse' rather than just a continous vibration. Can it be set just to give one or 2 pulses when receiving a sms/mms message, rather than vibrating for the full length of the message alert? (I've personalised mine and goes on for about 10 seconds)
I think the phone is great, and these niggles aren't the most major of things (accept the screen turning back on during calls) but it would make the phone more of a pleasure to use.
Cheers
There are fixes or programs for most of your niggles, but they may not integrate with the HTC Sense interface! That's one downside of such a deeply coded front end, and one reason why I personally have stopped using it!
There is a file available which can allow links in Opera to be clicked when zoomed out- sorry, but I don't have time to link to it at present!
For profile and radio (BT/WiFi/Phone) switching, I'd recommend SBSH Phoneweaver . OK, it costs $15 but you can set any number of profiles with switching based on time, location, busy status etc, or manually. The pop-up menu also has a set of switches for the various radios. It can be launched via one of the 3 Program buttons on the front page of Sense, or via a small icon in the Taskbar. I'm, not sure if it can have the vibrate times defined or not!

Thanks for your response. What are you referring to when you say radios? Please forgive my ignorance, I'm still learning
You say that you have stopped using the HTC sense interface so what do you use instead?
Just having a look at the phoneweaver, can this be used with the sense interface? Does it overide the phone settings?
Radios = WiFi, Bluetooth and Phone Radio. These are the things you see in the Comm Manager with the little green On/Off sliders
I'm now using a 'Light' custom ROm without the HTC Sense stuff. I prefer to use a plain 'Home Screen' (which you can achieve by going into Settings/Home (or Today) and selecting the Items tab. From there you can turn on or off any of the Today items or Sense itself.
A lot of the programs I use have their own Today screen plug-ins which suits me fine- Resco Contact Manager, Elecont Weather and Chronos clock/alarms, plus I use a Launcher program called Launchpad by Panoramic Software that is opened by tapping the top left of the screen; this has 40 definable 'Favourites' links plus a full set of Programs/Settings links.
Back to work now!

It can take over all the phone settings and can be manual or scheduled, plus some other useful switching options. You can try it free for 15 days!

Thanks for that thread, the trouble is I'm not a real computer/phone buff (yet) and so a lot of it goes right over my head. I don't even know what registry's are, and wy you need to edit them???
Ok, the concept of registry is quite simple. I'll put in a way so anyone can understand. Its a repository of stored key/value pairs.
Imagine a folder like structure, when you open a folder you will find a series of keys which, when opened, reveal the value.
Every key/folder is used by the OS or by some application. Its where all the back door settings are stored. So if you wanna make an app or the OS behave in a way you need to change the settings.
Using the registry is easy, but you have to make the first step... so what are you waiting?

Can I bugger up the phone if I don't know what I'm doing?
You can always make a backup of the registry you are changing. In resco registry editor tap and hold and press export. If the changes you made are not good, go to the folder where you exported the backup and open it. It will automatically imported and problem solved. But if you follow the instructions you won't have any problems, just don't change the registry for something you don't know or never seen in any tip/suggestion.
You could affect stuff if you dont do it right... but if you follow the instructions carefully without any typing errors, you will be fine...
Use this to Turn off BT easily.... it also does a lot of other stuff... basically, your bottom left softkey will become an "action" button... prssing that will bring up the screen shown in the screenshots. Works really well for me... also give you soft reset options without opening the back cover or powering off
