Hy
thanks to all for this release.
here is my little problem,
i shut down the phone with the comm manager, and then , when i wont to swich it on, the phone doesn't switch on and the icon on comm manager is always the phone with the x.

Is there any solution, please?

I have the same problem but i just do a soft reset
for some reason the phone switches off and on but it is slow, sometimes i have to wait 5 minutes to switch on, also i have not such problem with newer version of comm manager (or i think i do not have this issue, i keep my phone always on)

That's absolutely true, but in my case this "waiting period" is about 10 minutes. I have temporary solution-before going to sleep a make Soft Reset and tap cancel when SIM is detected...when I wake up I just turn it on...In this case I conserve power(the green LED still works when turn off phone through Comm Manager).

when I turn my XDA II in flight mode, the service light still blinks as if my phone is still on, in order for me to get it to stop blinking and saying the phone is on I have to figit around with it such as trying to make an outgoing call, then about a minute later it realizes I shut the phone in flight mode. Also randomly when I'm using my phone sometimes it will come out of flightmode and try to find a service connection. Does anyone have these same issues as I?

I have the same problem...
even when it goes in flight mode, if you soft reset your device, my phone will be back ON
hope someone can help
I found a way to fix, you need to use 1.17 radio rom not 1.18, I uploaded the rom in the downloads section @ zevink.com
Thanks
it worked
just a note for info:
don't be surprised if you have an intermittent reconnection problem in gprs using v1.17. the way out is a soft reset.
in xda II, v1.17 & v1.18 radio roms have these problems of gprs reconnect & flight mode respectively. interestingly, Qtek users have no such problems.
most xda II users use radio rom v1.08, v1.10, etc. not the v1.17 & v1.18!
i was testing the Flight-Mode tool. when i switched it on it works. but when i tried to switch it off it didn't do anything. i tried to switch it off a couple of times and still wouldn't work. i just recently upgraded my ROM to this : K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110_ship. does anyone have the same problem as me?
I have the same issue -- the only way I can get out of flight mode is to soft reset.
yea. i did a soft reset and tried switching on & off the flight mode again. it still won't turn off the flight-mode. so i had to soft reset it again.
Yep -- each time I go into flight mode, I have to soft reset in order to get out. A rather minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. I wonder if anyone else has this issue?
if you guys have a pin code for the phone.
turn off flight mode, then go to phone and write in your pin code then the flightmode goes off.
pin?? hmm i dont think i've created a pin for my phone. what if you don't have a pin? what should you do?
hum, then i acctually don't know sorry this way works for me
Hmm. I don't have any trouble switching flight mode on and off and never have. When turning FM off the phone asks for my sim pin and then locks onto the signal within 15 seconds.
Perhaps you have a 3rd party app interfearing somewhere?
For your info I have a K-Jam with standard shipped rom.
Apps currently installed:
Pocket informant 2005
WiFiFoFum
MS Voice command
PPC Profiles Pro
Check Notifications
Total commander
PHM Regedit
Pocket weather
TCPMP media player
I also did some of the reg hacks posted on HoFo and here.
I don't use a pin code.
I, too, do not use the PIN code, but I get in and out of flight mode with no problems at all (I have a K-Jam).
Do you wait at least 10-20 seconds after you turn flight mode off before thinking that it is not working? It takes that long before it activates the SIM and gets back the signal.
hey, guess wat... it works heheh i waited about 15 secs or so heheh. but previously it didnt work heheh
Just be patient - don't expect things to happen instantly.
10-15 seconds is reasonable.
I've not experienced any problem with the FM. just be patient
Hey all,
I somehow managed to screw up my Wi-Fi so it now appears to be turned on, even though it's not. The problem is, I can't turn it on..or off. Comm manager won't work. The Connections icon on the top bar of the today screen shows it as on and connected, when I click the icon the big button seems to let me turn the Wifi off, but when I hide the panel and show it again, it stays the same as before. And the other text on the panel writes "Turn Wi-Fi On". Umm..the last few sentences might look a bit confusing..well I have the Laurentius WM6 ROM (AKU 0.5 update 1 I think) so apart from the standard Turn Wi-Fi On/Off text (that looks like an internet link ), there's also a big button serving the same purpose. And simply put, the button looks as if the Wi-Fi was on, and the "link" as if it was off. I hope you get what I'm trying to say here Anyway, I tried hard-reseting the device and everything got fine again, until I restored my full backup (created by Sprite Backup 5 about a minute before the hard reseting). After that, the WiFi problem is back. Anyone got an idea what it could be caused by or what to do to get rid of it please?
Many thanks, Longlife
Well, the problem is solved, dunno how it happened but now everything works just fine Sorry for bothering :S
Longlife
my phone does not connect to att or the internet. it looks and looks for signal but it will never work unless i plug my phone onto my computer and sync it through activesync. after leaving it plugged in my phone will find signal and i can unplug the phone and work it regularly. this is a problem cause if i turn my phone off its done.. i wont be able to get it working after i turn it back on unless i stop at home and fix it which is a pain when I travel and have to turn my phone off before a flight.
when i turn on the phone it will say i am missing the file " and i will not work properly.. etc..etc i dunno if that has anything to do with my problem
Try a Soft reset or Hard Reset, hope it'll work.
Cheers!
neither worked

hmmmm,
You'll perhaps have to reflash it again, download official stock rom of your provider from its website and flash.ok
cheers!
anything??
well i have the nbd touchflo or whatever installed on mine and i have hard reset it a couple times.. reinstalled the software as well. usually when there are no programs it turns on and finds the signal. even when i do install programs it will work maybe the next 2 or 3 times i turn it off or soft reset it. then after that.. it never finds signal after turning on it needs a computer. this is really a hassle for traveling or if the battery drops out. sometimes it might even just lose signal for no reason. maybe im not doing something right.. is there a setting that needs to be changed once the phone screws up and doesnt find signal?
is it possible that if too many things are runnning it will not be able to find signal. right after turning it on i used the taskmanager to shut off ilock and s2u2 and then it shortly finds signal afterwards. sometimes it does att and sometimes it finds cingular. if it finds cingular the phone does not work and it says that the phone is off even though in the comm manager it is on. i just reset it and try again..
and whats the diff between the G (gprs) and E (medianet edge)? the phone never really works when it is doing G and when it tries to find signal when turning on the phone, sometimes (couple seconds) it will show some signal (calls still cant be made) with the G logo then eventually lose it.
Hi,
I have a problem with the wifi on HTC HD:
When I try to launch WIFI after a soft reset it always run OK.
Afetr a sleep mode (ie the phone went to sleep mode after 30 secondes or if i put it in sleep mode after a single press on the power button), If i try to launch WIFI the system freeze almost 50 % of the time : sometimes i can launch wifi someteimes the system freezes.
I did a hard reset and didnt installed any new software: same problem.
I disabeled TouchFLO; same problem
Dose anybody have an idea that can help ?
Regards
Hi There,
same as you, it happens regularly that due to reconnection to wifi, the system freezes. I must take out the battery to restart the HD.
I can't reproduce your system freeze. Have you enabled the option to keep wifi alive while in stand-by mode? This can be done by HD Tweak (or Advanced Config).
For me it is disabled and it reconnects just fine after powering the device up again. Have you installed the HTC Hotfix(es) already? What Rom are you running?
Hi,
If I leave the WIFI on so no problem at all, when the system wake up after a sleep mode so the WIFI is OK, the problem occurs very often if I put OFF the WIFI before I go to sleep mode. If I leave the WIFI on so no problem.
Just a precision: when the problem happens after sleep mode sometimes it dosent freeze but the WIFI dosent go on, if I try many time to put wifi on it will end by freezing the system.
The hotfix is installed.
ROM version: 1.14.406.3(22273) FRE
somebody can help me with this wifi problem please ?

I would try to change or update the ROM to see if the
freezing goes away. If not, send it in to the service centre for diagnosis.
shame on HTC and shame on Expansys !
I've return back the HTC HD for diagnostics few days after I've received it because of the WIFI problem descrbed in the original post. Afetr 2 weeks I've received the phone with a notice"repaired under waranty", after quick test the problem still the same ! I've returened it back to Expansys-where I bought it- and I am stil waiting to be replaced !!! Imagine that: I've had the problem few days after I've bought the phone and I have never got to use it..now after 2 months I am still waiting for the phone..Expansys says it wa sent to HTC to be replaced..I've asked them to replace cause it is new, no answer from expansys...shame
I believe while I was having a different WIFI problem and came across this problem detailed somewhere on the HTC website... however I forget where.
Some googling and forum searching might do the trick!
Have you tried a different ROM perhaps?
Also maybe using HDTweak or AdvancedConfig you could change the wifi to always be on even when the phone is asleep; although this would completely drain the battery rather quickly it could be a useful stopgap until you find a solution!
