Hi. I'm currently waiting för my Qtek S100 and now I'm interested in what software I should buy to get what's missing in Windows Mobile. I currently use an iPAQ, så I have some knowledge about common programs, but I would like to know what programs are suggested for the phone part of the Qtek. Money is not an issue.
Regards
Lobo
I use
Smart Filter,
MyProfiles,
Sunnysoft+ phone edition
PhotoContacts
Thanks for the reply. What are the programs for? Any other suggestions? Come on I know there are a lot of ppl out there
indeed a good suggestion. Maybe we can make a list of essentials.
My top 10 apps are,
1)Spb PocketPlus2 <--- Close button that really closes. ZIP support in File Explorer and many more.
2)PocketZenPhone <--- A phone profile. A MUST HAVE!! better than JGUI buggy apps (no hard feelings dude  )
3)Dashboard Minute Tracker <---- Track Phone minutes on a daily/monthly basis. Includes configurable plans, alerts, graphs, call log export, and signal strength!
4)PocketMusic <--- Nice interface and it plays OGG too. i love my oggs.
5)Bejeweled2 <--- Drive me NUTS coz i cant beat my GF high score
6)MorphGear <--- Awsome Emulator
7)Bryht Flash Player <--- Play your flash clips and game in full screen.
8)CabInstl <--- Makes installation in the chosen place, instead of by default, as standard installer.
9)RealOne Player <--- ...must i say anything?
10)Hope someone will make a camera apps or games. B4 the magician, i used to own a NK6600. I juz missed those camera games like Mosquitos, Killer Virus and etc.

SPB only unzip. Pocket RAR unzip and unrar. RAR has better compression then ZIP. Maybe some prefer RAR rather then ZIP. As for me, i prefer RAR
Nice! Now I have a ton of new stuff to look up and try. If I get my freakin phone!
RAR files are sometimes much smaller than ZIP files, but in the worst case, they become same size as ZIP, but never larger!
RAR is much more better than ZIP, also it does support archive recovery & its possible to fix damaged RAR files easily.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

I thought this would be a good place to keep a collection of those apps which are not available on mainstream PDA sites but are actually freeware.. just not well known.
For e.g.:
MenuKeyHelper (lets you use softkeys in old apps with the wm2003 menus)
FileExplorerExtension (adds functionality to built in explorer)
http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Cupertino/2039/
GSFinder for wm5 (softkey support for wm5)
http://www.geocities.jp/gsfinder_wm5/
JUCrab (allows you to place a menu for your soft keys on today screen, i find this useful as it allows me to quickly launch settings/shortcuts/new sms kind of things).
http://aimakidechi.hp.infoseek.co.jp/jasjar/0070_create_apps/JUcrab.html
Vijay tools are ofcourse great.
PocketAge is good but I can already get tabs from spb diary.
HButton, smartskey etc are available on these forums anyway..
Anyone know any other gems?
must have app's
batterystatus (to overclock your wizard)
x-button (closses programs for real
startclean (cleans memory after reset)
total commander (file explorer, also usable for registry)

allright, soon.
i may add OEMPACK too.
ValkSoft Space Reclaimer - Gr8 little program to clean memory and clear dead registry entries, dump temporary internet files, etc. . .
http://www.ppcsg.com/lofiversion/index.php/t58687.html
This link has the best collection of SW.
Since this is both an unusual device (bigger screen, vga and lots of memory) and a brand new OS (WM6), I thought it would be a good idea to have people chime in on what applications they are using on their WM6 Athena.
Try and let us know whether it is a Game or Application, Freeware or Purchased, and if you can, provide a link.
Hopefully we can all help each other get the most out of these fantastic multi-purpose devices.
I will start.
RealVGA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327830
First off, I love the huge VGA screen so my first search was for a great Resolution modification utility to get the most out of my screen real estate.
I have to hand it to Tobias, he has done a fantastic job with this one. Thanks a lot!
After screen res comes my necessary info:
HTC Home - Can't remember exactly where I got it, but it was from here somewhere.
eWallet - http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/ew/ewallet.php I love the way this application syncronizes my information with my desktop and lets me divide into categories for easy retreival
ListPro - http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.php - Another great app from these guys. I am very project oriented, and this application lets me create my own types of lists and then syncs them with my desktop.
Mobipocket -http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/default.asp?Language=EN - Still the best IMHO for reading all the books I want to read (that aren't PDFs).
wmIRC - http://wmirc.com/ A great IRC app!
TCPMP - http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/ Simply the best media player for our platform IMHO
What I am looking for:
A good Financial Program that Syncs with MS Money - I am trying Ultrasoft Money... I'll let you know how it goes.
Good Memory and Tweak Utilities - Have always loved Pocket Mechanic, but the graphics are horrible on the screen with RealVGA - looking at MemMaid
GAMES - I really want some good puzzle games! anyone that has any suggestions, please let me know!
Look forward to seeing what others have on their devices... Let me know!
@
My X7501 Apps...
Here are my apps... All are commercial unless otherwise noted.
AnywhereMap (aviation GPS moving map/navigation)
FlexWallet 2006 (personal data manager)
Mapopolis (backup to TeleNav when no data connection is available) Free but maps cost. Now defunct.
M$ Remote Desktop for running my server/PC from the X7501 (free CABs here)
Skype (VoIP calls/chats) Free
Spb Backup (backup/restore)
TCPMP (Swiss Army knife media player) Free
TeleNav (subscription GPS navigation; simply the best IMHO)
TheSky Pocket Edition (for the astronomy geek in me)
YaRPNcalc (RPN calculator for the HP geek in me) Free
Sorry for no links; Google is your friend...
OziExplorerCE - moving map application
CorePlayer - much better that TCPMP for only 25 bucks
Tomtom 6.030 with WWE maps
Blackberry Connect version 2 - my corporate push-mail system
GenGisCad - An AutoCad files viewer
Google Maps - Now it works with internal GPS
MemMaid - Quite dangerous tunning program for your PDA
pPod - A program that simulates a iPod in your PDA. Difficult to find because Apple put its makers into Court. Better used in portraid since in landscape mode some important key is left outside of the screen. (drop me a private msg with an email address if someone want it)
psShutXP - A program to reset/shutdown/shut screen the PDA
PHM RegEdit - Must have if you need to access the registry
VisualGPSce - Simple GPS application. Just show you information about GPS
WM5torage 1.73 - To use your Microdrive or MiniSD as a USB key. Use 1.73 don't install 1.75 yet since this new one has some bugs on it.
PPCFinder - What do you do if you need to find a file in your PDA? Running this program. Very useful when I need to find a missing DLL or EXE file.
Pencilbox - a program for my daugther to draw on the PDA. Great for your children.
pPod
Hi, it is really intresting to see pPod program.
Can you send it to me please?

Thanks.

I have also been looking for good apps for my Touch. I don’t want to install and remove tones of apps and clutter up my Touch. But if there are apps out there that really shine I would love it if people would post it. Perhaps we can turn this thread into a comprehensive list of great apps for the Touch?
I know we can find these apps by searching but maybe we can turn this thred into a one-stop shopping center for the best Touch apps along with URL’s of where to get them? Maybe even screen shots?
I love Google Maps. Very slick and useful. If you have the $7/month unlimited data package from Bell Mobility (apparently Telus has something similar) then download Google Maps.

It's a keyboard. I love it and can't live without it now.
I currently have:
PocketCM
Touchpal
Pocket Informant
Pocket Breeze
spb finance
spb backup
resco explorer and registry editor
HTC Home customizer
Advanced Config
Touch Settings
Google maps
Windows live search
opera mobile (trial)
Documents to go (trial)
HTC Audio Manager
KeySwop
psShutXP
Pocket Player (trial)
I would also recommend getting invisibleshield for the touch to protect it.
Here are some of the critical software that I cannot live without.
Ultimate Launch
PocketCM
Touchpal
Pocket Breeze
Resco Explorer (with Registry Editor)
Opera Mobile
HTC Audio Manager
My Current Lineup...
Pointui 1.02b Test 2 modded with black skin

Resco Explorer w reg editor (everyone needs this)
1-calc
Conduits Pocket Player
Ringo (ringtone Manager)
Schap's Adv config
MS Voice Command 1.6 (modded to announce calls over BT)
A few other custom tidbits
It took a little work, but now, my phone puts an iphone to shame! WOOHOO!
Apps
Cant forget about shogunmark Threaded SMS, also cube config
SPB Pocket Plus is on my UC lineup. I love how it adds the extra 'hold' button mapping feature to all ur buttons (great on my Kaiser, but the Vogue only has one button?!?!) Also, the tabbed plug-in feature for PIE is a must have!
Yes, Advanced Config. is a necessity too but it won't let me map 'long press send key' or 'long press end key,' whatsup with that? I am running v2.1.
Has anybody been able to map those keys? The Vogue doesn't have that many buttons and it'd be great if we could get the most out of them. I was able to map them on my Kaiser, which had more button options than I could imagine.
I would give a vote for the best soft kb I've tried: ftpro
From the developer's site (www.fingertouchpro.com):
"""
What makes Fingertouch the BEST? Video tutorials
Fingertouch PRO has 5 layouts (5 keyboards in 1)!
It offers FAST Text Input using our patented technologies!
Comes with fT9 Technology, T9 improved system!
It supports multiple languages including Russian (Cyrillic) or Greek!
The keys can be moved, entire layout is configurable!
The keyboard size can be changed, including FULLSCREEN!

This is a must have on everyone's Jade. Why I say so ? Because I nearly bricked my phone doing all those customising and registry hacking. Restoring from last backup save my day. DO BACKUP ONCE IN A WHILE AND EVERYTIME BEFORE MODIFYING SYSTEM FILES !!! Don't take things for granted.
