handwriting

hello all,
i have a t-mobile mda vario aka wizard with dutch wm5
But i don't have the transcriber or handwriting options,
They are writen in the manual.
Ain't they availeble at all, or as a seperate install..

I am missing this functionality also. Well I tried your solution but although Transcriber installed on the device OK, it does not work for me. It appears in the input-selection dialog when using Word, but selecting it does nothing - just sticks with virtual keyboard input unfortunately.
Any other ideas, or comments on whether others have found the same?

Hi tried transcriber and getting same problem as you, activating it does nothing! Help!

Both these apps don't have a dutch version, so thats why T-mobile NL decided to leave them out. There should be a patch coming.
But who cares about that stuff anyway. Did you notice there is a complete keyboard you can slide out?
I have experience with the older ppc models and believe me,
yuo realyl don't nead thad rekognitoin software ****

hmm...
hard reset my vario and transcribe seems to be built in and working now... can't remember seeing it before.....

Letter Recognizer? My girlfriends phone doesnt have it

My phone, Blue Angel has it, but my girlfriends Wizard doesnt. Is this normal?
Doesnt the wizard have letter recongnizer?

When you bring up the softkeyboard there is an up-arrow next to the task bar keybard icon. Tap that and the list of possible entry methods are displayed, including 'Letter Recognizer'

But its not there!

Ahh thats a woman thing ... shes probs tidied it away somewhere and forgot where she put it
Seriously though, its a bit strange, mine deffo has it plus another couple of options.
I notice its not in english language, perhaps thats why ?

Well I've got the same problem and I've tried both the Danish version (since I'm from Denmark :lol: ) AND the english localization and neither of them works
I didn't work with the original ROM and it still doesn't work with the latest ROM.
Strangely enough, in the (danish) manual there's a whole section about letter recognition...hmmmmm VERY strange :?
If ANYONE could give an answer to this I'll be greatfull - I really could use that app'!!!

The Letter recognizer NOR the Block recognizer are present in localized (ie non WWE) ROM's.
Use a WWE Rom if you realy want it!

Hardware keybord doesn't work good

Hi everyone,
when I upgrade my Qtek on VM6, my hardware keyboard doesn't work good. When you push Fn two times you should write numbers like on normal num lock keybord, but not at my Qtek..

Yes.. and when I typing a text message, the letters are aded slow, so when I sometimes writing faster the sms hasn'z got all letters

for the slow sms try going to settings > input > word completion and turn it off - that helps alot for sms

How to use another keyboard on my P3600?

I am desperately looking for a (working!) method to use another keyboard (like the good cootek touchpal keyboard) on my HTC P3600 (WM5). I tried the software IMSelector as well as SIPChange but it works only a few times!I reboot many times but I always keep the default keyboard...
Can someone help me?

I'm not sure about free software but I use SKTools and it get me the correct keyboard all the time.

I have an identical problem with the TouchPad or TouchKeyboard installed on my P3600. I've found that removing some of the object on the Today screen help TouchPad to start. So today, i've only a few items (messaging and SBP Diary) on my Today screen.
I also wait a little bit before entering my pin code for the phone until i see touchpad started (it shows the keyboard for a few seconds).
Since then, i "don't" have so much problems.

I've asked htc to know if there is an upgrade to wm6 and they said NO !
how can upgrade my p3600 to wm6?

Alternate SIPs not showing up is a well discussed problem in the Trinity forum, having just reinstalled everything on my own Trinity it seems that it is memory related, once the free RAM is below about half then alternate SIPs tend to be reluctant to work reliably.

I just got a new IPAQ 614C and so far it works great. It's pretty fast and
does what I need it to do.
But something troubles me.
When I type a message using the hardware keypad (not using XT9)
I can not get the swedish characters to work ( Å Ä Ö).
I've set the location to SWEDEN under SYSTEM ->Regional settings.
The only way to type those characters is either by using the Keyboard software and that's a real pain.
Earlier I had an Qtek 8310 with English ROM and when typing the Swedish characters worked without any problems.
Does anybody have any idea if it's possible to make it work on my device?
Maybe by some registry hack or replacing some DLL's?

Hi,
If you got the UK version, you're stuck. Best solution is to get Resco Keyboard and set it as default with the language you prefer.

The funny thing is that my old Qtek 8310 has also English ROM and it support
the swedish language and characters using the keypad. Oh well.
I've solved my problem for now by installing the PHONEPAD application.
Works like a charm and I also got a working T9.
