Hi,
Has anyone had any luck with writing Midlets for the XDA2? I'm trying to write one use the camera as a webcam (Yes, I know, a bit ambitious for my secomd midlet!)
I'm using this line:
Code:
Player vPlayer = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");
I get a MediaException, meaning '...a Player cannot be created for the given locator.' (quoted from MMAPI JavaDoc).
Also, calling the Manager.getSupportedProtocols() method for 'mpeg/video' returns an empty list, as does calling Manager.getSupportedContentTypes() for 'capture://video'.
Has anyone else managed to access the XDA2 camera from a Midlet? If so, what is the trick?!!
cheers
Paul
I don't think anybody's managed to get access to it from native eVC++ let alone midlets, and IA style aren't revealing anything about how their app does it, so I wouldn't hold your breath for a solution... Bloody closed APIs.
Knackers!!
Cheers anyway! I'll keep poking and see what happens....

i suspect that their applications take pretty much control direct without using the winCE api
because when i start the cam my clock which it still display stop being 24h and turn to the AM/PM confusement
I created a little application in C# with VS2005 using the latest WM PocketPC SDK. It contains a form with a WebBrowser component which I fill with the help of the DocumentText property. When I put in short HTML segments that don't trigger the scrollbar everything is fine. As soon as I give it a little longer text the scrollbar appears but the component begins refreshing over and over again like I would set the DocumentText property all over again.
I don't have a clue what triggers this behaviour im definetly only setting the DocumentText property once and not in some kind of timer or thread.
I tried to google for it but no solution turned up.
Anybody ever ran into this problem or even better know how to fix it?
Hi,
I am new to this site, and indeed new to pda development, so not sure if this is the corrct place to post this.
I have written a PDA application, and as a nicety, would like to like the postcode in my application to TomTom via a button. I have seen that there is an SDK available, but don't have 200USD to shell out for it, so was wondering if it's possibl to launch TomTom in such a way that it will atomatically navigate to the postcode?
Any help or pointers greatly recieved,
Cheers
Anyone has the luck of getting both camera and GPS works at the same time just so you can tag a photo with it's GPS location in Samsung SGH-i780?
I know software like LOCr where you have to start camera application first then start the LOCr software in the background (this is the workaround for i780), but I'm hoping for a more complete solution, anyone knows anything here ?
me too, as far as I know there is only 1 way to take Gps taged photo with i780 is run the camera first and run LOCr software in background (you can assign a button to run LOCr software)
Hope some one can fix this issue
Basically at uni we hav this one course where we must produce an application, but im a hardware guy an absolutly hate programming and if I dont do this then i could fail everything.
I need to create some sort of application which is not too complex but not simple either so that I can use it in my presentation and documentation is required. I am willing to pay anywhere around the £250-£300 mark.
If anyone is willing to do this please send me a private message and also if anyone has any ideas for what could be developed please post here as I have no clue what to make.
Some other people from my class are doing a phone tracking system, and those sort of application.
