I am trying to play a midi file on my PDA running mobile 5.0 and control some if its parameters. On my PC I used either the MCI control (MCI32.ocx) or direct commands (mcisendcommand), but I found no way to use them on the PDA.
Any clues?

Install the PPC2003 rom please.
If you don't know how to, please wait for the USB update or official update.
Just to confirm that WMP version 9 is only available as part of the new Windows Mobile 2003 O/S. I'm guessing we should see this available for download before the end of the month, else shortly after.
Extract from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/pocket.aspx
The Windows Media Player 9 Series for Pocket PC is included as a feature of the new Windows Mobile Software 2003 for Pocket PC operating system. Windows Media Player 9 Series for Pocket PC is only available on new Pocket PC devices running Windows Mobile Software 2003 or from a full system upgrade to the new Windows Mobile Software 2003 available from the Pocket PC manufacturer. See your device manufacturer to determine if your device can be upgraded to the new operating system.
Could anyone of you who's so lucky to already own an HTC Universal please post if the ROM of this device contains a file called RTCDLL.DLL?
If anywhere, it's probably located in the \Windows folder (or one of its subfolders).
This file is a library that can be used by developers who want to create real-time communication applications. It is part of the Windows CE 5 operating system, but no all Windows Mobile devices include it on their machines.
I would like to make use of this library to write a SIP-based videophone application for the HTC Universal.
Hm...couldn't find it..sorry
I've found that file for you. It's part of the "Windows Real-Time Communications Client API SDK 1.3" wich can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...15-FD1C-4BF7-A505-3F8FAF1E120A&displaylang=en
Hope it helps
Eric
Eric,
That SDK contains the Windows XP version of the DLL.
What I'm trying to find out here is whether the ROM of the HTC Universal contains the Windows Mobile version of the RTCDLL.DLL which can be used to create SIP compatible realtime communication apps for Windows Mobile devices.
I'm sorry it was the wrong one. Have you also looked at the Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK? There is some support for the .dll in Windows CE 4.3. One other source could be www.opennetcf.org

Hi,
I'm trying to be able to read a .au file which is NeXT/SUN audio (.AU/.SND) file.
I found no application able to read that kind of audio file
I specify that they are files that I receive directly on my PPC via mail (this a voicemessage receive on my home phone) and that I don't have the possibility of converting them into .wav or .mp3 on a PC.
Does somebody have an idea?
Thanks in advance
Dont know of an app that will play au file on pocket pc. I do know jetaudio player will play it on pc and you should be able to convert it to a format you can play on ppc.
Link here http://www.jetaudio.com/
Try core pocket media player site http://corecodec.org/ they have many plugins for this ppc player but not au i think.
Thanks for the reply, I'm going to test this apps
Hi!
I have a flight instrument that is called Flymaster F1 - www.flymaster.net , and It connects to the PDA using the Bluetooth Port. It's possible to setup the flymaster using the hyper-terminal on PDA or PC. But my idea is to create a software that I can use in Windows Mobile that have the options and I only need to change the values, instead of have to write all the options manually.
The F1 commands manual: click here to download it
Do you have any idea how can I start to do it?
