erm - Microsoft Outlook? - should not be a problem as it is delivered with the P3600 on CD - unless of course you're running MacOS or Linux. Just activesync - then manage them in MS Outlook and activesync again.

As simple as that
Who think that Bill Gates will make an OS without interaction between his Office suite ?
How to get more rich in 1 lesson !!!
I figured that also out, but I don't want to install outlook.
Any other options? Are there freeware programs available?

Of all the junk that Micro$ have churned out, Outlook is actually a rather good program - I'd recommend it over anything else
You either get another sync software that will let you sync with the software you use to manage contacts on your pc, or connect to your pocketpc using something like http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/rce.shtml that will let you control the ppc from your windows desktop.
Ok, another question
i used to sync my device with outlook with the option of combine contacts between the two devices, the peoblem now is that i have a many duplicated contacts over 1500 contacts, is there any program or tip to remove this duplicates easly.

Active Sync 4.0 -> NO Access Database sync !?

Hi folks
now i have my new MDA Pro and tried to convert all functions from XDAIII to the new device. therefor i tried to sync a view access databases to my new device BUT:
THERE IS NO possibility for sync DATABASES in Active synv 4.0 !?!?!
has anybody the same problem?
That's sad but true...
One of my favorite programs for time tracking is Timettracker from Rfcons. But I can't use it on my Universal because they use ActiveSync Access. But they're working on a workaround...

Do you know which workaround this will be?

You could check the contents of your \Windows\Startup to see if there's a third-party app trying to access it. (Or the other three places: HKLM/Services, HKLM/init and the Today plug-ins. See the Safe Mode Bible at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1255&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for more info on this.)
I think it's a third party app problem, not that of Windows Mobile
Well, I have just gone through the Windows/start folder and have found that I can provoke the problem to appear by running XCPCSynchSvr_101.ink which is a link to windowss\101\XCPCSynchSvr.exe
Any idea what this is ? Could it be related to XTNDConnect which I use for synchronizing with Lotus Notes ?.
It might help for you to know that I some weeks ago made a hard reset and then synchronized calander and contacts through Active Synch with Outlook on my home pc. However I usually synchronize with my work pc which uses Lotus Notes.
Would the solution be to simply just uninstall the XTNDConnect program since Im not using Lotus Notes anymore ?

Most probably. Alternatively, you can just move the link to somewhere else and reset the device. Then, you will still be able to start XTNDConnect when you do need it by simply tapping it.

If you browse to "My Device" you will find a file called "pim.vol" thats where all wm devices stores contact and calendar data!
Just copy the file and put it in the same directory on any other wm device, and restart the device, thats it, now you should have all your contacts and calendar information on the other device! FOR FREE!
No need to install any programs for doing that!
Good luck!

You need PIM backup or MS MyPhone for contacts.
There is no Contacts folder.
You also can use Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.0

you got them to your PC, how? Should be reverse to get to your new phone.
You can sync them through ms exchange and active sync, you can sync them through ms exchange and google, you can sync them through MS My Phone.
Perhaps you need to understand your device better as this is a basic transfer.

I know of no way to convert your .vcf files back to your device without outlook.
What I would suggest is to download program called My Phone, create an account and manually enter your contacts on the website, so for future use, you can sync through the program to any WM device.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
thx man
but if i installed office 2003

You can import it with outlook by going to File\Import (I think) and select the file type vcf, or use a softrware like vCard Import/Export.
There are programs (BitPim) that can convert the vcf to delimited text, etc.
Also, I believe gmail can import a vcf file, then you can set up your google as an exchange server (Set up new mail with m.google.com as your server, domain can be anything you want.)
You must have all of your contacts in 1 vcf file. I believe there is a DOS command that can merge multiple vcf files but I don't remember what it is.
Hope this helps.
