Fitaly on the p3600i? - P3600 General

Anyone else use this keyboard? I've gotten used to it from my previous phone (Himalaya), and installed it on the p3600i, but the phone started slowing down a lot until it wouldn't even start up. Had to hard-reset finally, and reinstall all my programs. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences? I installed Fitaly 3.5 for PPC.

Intellipad or Phonepad problem

I tried to set the Intellipad as the default SIP but after a soft reset it reverts to Keyboard automatically.
Switching it manually before replying a message sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
I tried re-installing Intellipad, but still have the same problem. I'm using the QTEK 1.11 ROM.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
It is true that after a soft reset the sip will go back to default, keybord. To change it you has edit the registry at HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip by changing the "DefaultIm" value, but I don't know the value for Intellipad. For Block recognizer as default sip change the value to {42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}. Maybe other know the value for intellipad...
I've encountered that before, just use tweak2k2net and disabled those inputs that you do not need to use, leave only phonepad & keyboard (for me), perform a software reset and it will work again. (I've even have tengo Thumb keyboard) installed as well.
Have you got a link for tweak2k2net ?
I found it
http://www.tweaks2k2.com/
Unfortunately none of these suggestions worked. I can live with the SIP switiching to keyboard as default. What I can't stand is the fact that I have to reset my PPC every time I switch from Keyboard to Phonepad and vice versa.
Can someone pls try switching between keyboard and Phonepad for a couple of times and see if it works fine?
I have no problems what so ever.
Running ROM 1.11.00 on Qtek S100
It was determined by a very helpful person on PocketPCThoughts.com that resources for the SIP are shared with the Today plug-ins. So, if you have too many Today plug-ins or one Today plug-in that is resource intensive, chances are that your third-party SIP will fail to function.
I verified it by disabling all the Today plug-ins and it worked like a charm upon the next reset. Then, I started enabling the plug-ins one by one until I found out how much it can take before Intellipad (or TenGO Thumb) will just pull up the keyboard.
Too bad it's a Microsoft issue.
One of the few programs that seemed to have overcome this issue is Spb Full Screen Keyboard. I think Resco Keyboard is another one, but when they don't satisfy your needs, who cares about these two products.
I really enjoy Intellipad and the new TenGO Thumb, but you'll have to realize they are sensitive to the available resources that the Pocket PC provides. Perhaps contacting the developers would make them see the light, but I doubt it much.
I'm trying to see if I can come up with an alternative to the many Today plug-ins I have. I tried Snoopsoft Dashboard, but I got the same results, but of course, this is after many installs/uninstalls. I'm going to start fresh with a hard reboot and rebuild my Pocket PC software setup from scratch.
You can read the correspondence of how I got this issue addressed on PocketPCThoughts here:

BeyondtheTech, thanks very much for your reply. That explains it! I just need to decide which plug-in I can live without, SPB pocket plus or PhoneAlarm :-(

Sound problem with HTC P4350

With apparently no reason, the phone's sounds start playing on about 1.5x speed. This is happening with all the ringtones and even if I play a file with WMP. And most annoyingly, when I call anyone (or being called), only the speakerphone works, no matter whether you turn it on or off. These two problems seem to go together. There are no apparent reasons nor for their start, neither for their end. Can anyone help?
Have you soft reset? What recent programs have you installed?
Soft Reset doesn't help at all. I have the same programs as on my previous Qtek S200 plus one very lite program for fuel consumption, which I run only about twice a week.
Well I am glad that you have the same programs on it as you had on your Qtek but that really doesn't help.
Do you have any program that has anything to do with sound installed?
What I meant is, that my old S200 worked just fine with these programs. Here's the complete list in reverse installation order:
CoreCodec CorePlayer
PocketX Photo Contacts PRO
DinarSoft MemMaid
LinkeSOFT Automobile
MASPware AutoManager
PDAGear.net Expense Diary
Mibigloo Texas Hold'em Poker Odds Calculator
Resco Photo Viewer
Chi-Tai Dang BatteryStatus TD-Plugin
Spb Backup
Opera
Infinite Dreams SkyForce Reloaded
Resco Explorer + Today Plugin + Registry Add-in + FTP Add-in
ICQ for PPC
TofClock TodayPlugin
Skype
What I am wondering is if one of these programs is having an effect on the sound.
Did it happen after you installed a program or made any changes? Have you tried hardreseting?
Anyway, HTC announced they will be upgrading P4350 to WM6 soon, so I'll just wait and see what happens. Thank you for your advices.
Hello,
Have you managed to solve this problem?
I have the same problem now that I have upgraded to WM6 and I have not heard of anyone else with the same effect.
If you have found a solution, I would be very interested in knowing what you did.
Many thanks in advance
Nick
I am having this problem now too. The ringtone thing had happened many times before and was always fixed with a soft reset. But the speakerphone thing is a deal breaker, and now active sync is not even working. Any solutions to this yet?
No Sound - No Active Sync
Same problem here, my Herald doesn't produce any sound and ActiveSync doesn't recognise it. Someone got a solution?
Hey ppl, have you tried using the Active Sync Trouble shooter? Also be sure that your connections are reconized by your computer(usb controller which is in control manager) and that your pda is set to be read by cable/bluetooth, depending on what you work with.
Peace!

installing htc touch-tody plugin slows down my system - how to fix?

hey,
i installed the today-plugin from the htc touch. after recognizing that the speed slowed down i uninstalled the plugin (sadly). after the uninstallation my system is still slow like hell - even after soft-reset. i think the plugin changed something in the registry.
is anyone having the same problem? is there a way to solve the problem without hard-reset?
I solved this problem by reinstalling the hole system
Its a common problem with the HTC Home plug-in. Unless the plug-in is built directly into the rom (B&B v3.7 for example) then it will always slow the device down. Even uninstalling doesn't fix it as it leaves some registry entries or something which slows the device down. AS the previous poster has said, hard resetting the device will fix this but its not ideal. If you do want this plug-in then the best way is to download a rom that has it 'cooked' in.
same problem here.
everything in my device was working super fast, until i installed the today-pluging from the htc touch. it slowed down to 50% or less!!
even uninstall didnt solve the problem, had to hard-reset too...
Any fixes?
Read the kaiser home plugin thread in the hermes mobile 6 forum - it has a Cab that installs the files into \htc rather than window - this seems to stop the slowdown. Better though is to use a rom with it cooked in. Sorry no link as i am on my device.

Java Problem Any Ideas?

Ok, so switched from the 700wx in which I had to install the java applet myself.
Java came pre-installed on my sprint mogul.
Anyway the issue is that when using opera mini my phone will freeze after some time of opera being in use and nothing will bring it back besides a soft reset.
Its a problem because i need opera for certain web pages....
also ive nooticed that as the page switches it kind of sweeps off the side but does it jerkily. this is in both 4.0 and 4.1...
I preformed a hard reset and that didnt help me...
any ideas? should i try installing the java applet I used on my treo? has anyone expierienced simmilar problems?
thanx in advance....

Office Mobile Problem

I recently was forced to hard reset my Wing after installing Pocketbreeze constantly crashed the phone to the point I could not uninstall. I tried installing the program several times before giving up and starting over without it. Afterward, I noticed that Office Mobile was no longer installed. It seems like I've hard reset in the past and this software was still installed. Can anyone confirm this one way or another? Is there any way to get the Office software back? Would I have lost any other useful software from the original load? Any advice would be appreciated. Office Mobile was a pain, but I did use it to view files on occasion.
Also, has anyone else had issues with Pocketbreeze? It looked like a useful piece of software and I'm curious why it wouldn't work. any other good calender/organizer/to-do list softwares you can recommend for the Today Screen?
Thanks,
Justin
