Why can't I load any web site?
I am using 8525.
I upgraded wm6 yesterday. But I can not open any web site on IE altough it is connected to my wireless(unsecured) at home.
It works well when I use 3G service. What's wrong with that?
It is really annoying me!!
Anyway I have pda unlimited data plan. But I wanna know why it doesn't work if I use Wi-fi.
Help me..
Turn off the proxy and ensure that you have allowed IE connections to work on the wireless connection.

First of all I use Opera Mini because I can't get anything at all working with the default Intenet Browser. I haven't purchased t-zones or ayhting., but it worked fine before. I use to be able to connect to the internet by simply making a 3g Gprs connection. As long as I had a signal I was able to connect. All of a suuden though I am not able to load the page. What can I do to solve this. I am able to do everythng alright when I use Wi-Fi.
Ok if I do a flash of WM6 Vanilla everything works fine I can brows the web via wireless connections and whatnot, I then run a cab supplied by shotgun that is supposed to add the approprate connections for Cingulars MediaNet service in the US and the SMS stuff... Once I do that my internet browsing with wireless no longer works...
I'm new to all of this so I dont know if its something simple and stupid I'm missing but any help is appreciated.
Ok... well....
I think I got it on my own, I just used the wap.cingular settings to setup a Media Net connection. That works and so does my WAN connections for browsing the web too. So I think I'm fine.
anybody know how to do this? im going to my girlfriends house and im bringing my laptop and they dont have any wireless connections in the area so i wanted to connect my cell phone to my laptop n use the GPRS/EDGE to get internet on my laptop so any advice would be great!
Do a web search on 'MDA' and 'modem' AND 'the-name-of-your-provider' (mine is T-Mobile)
The steps for the first 2 terms are nearly the same, but the key is the settings that are specific to your provider.
i have tmobile as well
Just to let you know, on t-mobile you have to set up the same proxy in your web browser on your pc as the one you use on your phone when connecting (216.155.165.50 - HTTP) or it won't work. As for setting up connection sharing, if you're using WM6, just run internet sharing, if you're using WM5 though I can't help you cuz I never used it when I had WM5.

This is not necessary. Both my Firefox and IE are set to 'Direct connection to Internet'. No problems.

The proxy IS necessary for tethering using the $5.99 tmobile plan.
THe proxy IS NOT necessary for the "Total Internet" or Unlimited Internet plans.
hey guys got a problem cant seem to get my internet to work at all i order the internet service from cingular so i can surf the web when im away i call cingular to have them setup mt internet settings and stuff and all it dose is say connecting when i type in a url site on internet explorer
Not sure if your issue is the same as mine. I have the same problem. I just installed opera and it works fine. No clue why IE doesn't. Worth a try?
I got a unlocked Touch HD. I can turn on WiFi and go on line via Opera. I am currently using ATT. My network connection is Media Net. If I turn off the wifi then, I can not get any sites to open by just using my data plan. Under ADVANCED NETWORK do I need to diasable HSDPA/HSUPA. Can some1 tell me why the intranet does not wot\kr unless I'm using my wifi..
in settings, go to proxy, and try disabeling my connection requires a proxy, it should do the trick
touch HD opera internet connection (reply back)
I double checked and made sure the PROXY SETTING box was not checked and it was not. I still can only access the web via wifi. Any more suggestions.
I would talk to your IT guy, there maybe a reason you can't access the intranet, blocked MAC is one that I use.
block MAC....that's that. I am not trying to use my work site IP for web access. I have a data plan with ATT. The phone will not connect to the web unless i connect by using wifi.
Try start>connections>then connections wizards thing, sorry I got a dutch HD so don't know the english.
Mine was bend on choosing a different ISP than my own, after I use the connections wizard it rerouted my internet through a proper channel and I can access internet through my mobile provider, hope this works for you.
