Im new to this forum.I need help to upgrade my htc p3300.

the above rom is great, if you want minimal apps and max speed try vanilla 2.01 or vanilla touch. tom codon cooks some great roms too. roms can be found here

Sorry guys im not going to finish this rom, the main reasons are i got no time to do so, uni and work take almost all my time and the other one is i lost interest in my blue angel, soon il be buying a touch pro so ive decided not to finish my rom, i apologize if anyone got exited about it but its just that i have lost all interest in making the rom , again sorry for not meting your expectations, and lasty i want to give a BIG thanks to swampy for guiding me into the right direction and providing me the tools for doing so, swampy you got my respect and thanks.

Ok guys ive ported or at least i think i did , the newest 6.5 build to our beloved blue angels..but theres a problem the rom is not booting its stays in the bootloader screen, my guess is that something is wrong in the imageinfo.bin or maybe the rom is to big hence the OS wont boot up(although the output .nbf image is exactly 32mb in size), i need help from senior rom cookers xplode,sun_dream,swampy so please guys if you see this post hit me up with a pm so you can help me figured out whats wrong in my rom.
note: Ive removed lots of things from the original rom like welcome center,IE8,widgets,office and a bunch of other crap that makes the rom heavy, don't worry il release them as cabs
And also i wanna thank bepe for his rom tools, xplode/sun_dream for inspiring me on taking this rom cooking journey ;D
Anyways stay tune guys.

Is it a true release or just a hex edited (aka fake) release? Reason I am asking is because I have seen a load of new builds in the Raphael forums (all of them within one weeks time)
In either case, I am looking forward to it!

I don't have a blue angel myself unfortunatly but i hope to start cooking for blue angel shortly, stuck at splash screens sounds like a xip issue, try reporting xip man.
edit: oop i'm sorry, just reread and saw bootloader screen. lol yea thats a rom size formate issue probably.. ahh well i'll be getting my hands dirty soon also

Hi mate Have a look inside your XIP.bin and you'll find a little bit of space were you can put some OEM_Driver files "there's not much but can save you some space in rom image, or use explode or sundream XIP.bin as "base xip" but dump "it" and look inside and then remove the extra files you find from your OEM folder and make use of the ones in XIP.bin

Thank you joshkoss and swampy395 for helping me on this guys i really apreciate it, ok base on what you guys told me there seems to be a big problem on the kitchen im using, i got it from pda viet its wm6 kitchen the name of the kitchen is DEV_BA_6, i went ahead and dump xplodes latest rom using one of your tools swampy(swampys decompiler) and i saw that hes dumb is almost 101mb in size when mine is only 50mb in size, something is very wrong in my rom, and also i cant find the xip.bin all i have on the xip folder is a file named boot.rgu i was reading this was related to the xip or maybe i miss read xD, i know im missing some big step on the cooking procedure, having said all this i really need help on this guys as this is the very first time i try porting/cooking a rom, anyways any kind of help will be greatly apreciated guys.

Maybe you need to port the xip with other tool, there must be the mistake... ask personally to xplode i think he uses a different way to port, i mean manually. i have saw a thread with this kind of xplanation but i cant remember where...

it seems that u have new gene just patch spl oref mathed and flash a new gene rom.

buddy a lot of roms available and it's ur choice what u need.
Actually I was asking about the performance between WM6.1 & WM6.5 if we run it on Gene100 (P3400i)... which one gives better performance.... and of course I've found a lot of good & interesting ROM in here.... a lot of it looks very impressive but still I have to install it for the sake of knowing of how is it going to be....

ya it can be possible.i have told you earlier that "it seems that u have new gene" i haven't said u have new gene.
well to insure what u have just follow this tool and then give "built date".
after that we can surely say that it is old or new gene.
Where is this file "spl.bin" located ?? couldn't find it.... and how do I open this "bk_06_0001.img" file?

open bk_06_0001.img with note pad and search for "Built on" date.
If your date is < march 26 2008 then you have an old gene. If your date is >= march 26 2008 then you have a new gene.
and spl.bin was given with the tool. check zip file.
Sigh.... it was built on March 7 2008....

just run hspl and reboot it will show 10.olip at spl
then flash an old gene rom.

I think andriod is to slow for the magician, and it would be to hard to make it for one person.
Windows mobile 6.5.5 is really nice. But I heard it is hard to unpack the magician roms. There is not any kitchen released. Only cotulla has succeeded making an magician rom so far..
Yes, but he is selfish and doesn't want to share his work with us. Lazy too. I respect his work but nothing new is posted since 2009... Like he is left this magician project...

I'd even like to help in any way possible, posted a message in the general > questions just today.
I'm doing a study informatica > software engineer, and for a schoolproject we have to write an android application ... don't have €500,- for some fancy HTC phone with android on it, so if we could kick my phone back to life (even if it is slow) it would be awesome.
Saying that, also like to add that i have enough sparetime to help you out with some testing, reading, writing/coding I'm not really experience with mobile phone OS ROMS so it is a good challenge and probly a nice sparetime project

I love my Magician ! A solid Case , you became all Repair Parts for low Price and you can change them self . I would be happy , if someone could make a kitchen, with a chance to change the language . Good luck !

Tell me that you are not modifying Cotulla's roms, that is not cool dude.
Respect his work and wishes, either create your own rom or get permission from the big man himself before doing it.
DO NOT WORRY i DO NOT use Cotulla's rom!!!! i do respect his great work... at the moment im working on WM2003SE but i guess that same or similar procedure is used on WM6.1/WM6.5.... so i juct need to figure out way to build new rom form files that i have extracted...

i havent found any kitchen for Magician, and kitchen for Himalaya or BlueAngel does not work on Magician... so sad...

Hey all, n00b here. I am currently on the official Verizon WM 6.1 Release, but would like to use one of the newest WM 6.5 custom ROMs that have been put together here.
Forgive my complete ignorance, the Wiki seems to be down at the moment and I just need some guidance.
What displays on the screen when doing a soft reset is the following:
M 09
B 03
P DCAAXOM-4350H
R 3.37.75
D 3.57
I understand that the basic steps are:
1) Unlock Phone
2) Update Radio
3) Flash ROM
First question: Does my radio need to be updated, based on the info above?
Second: Do Olipro 2.40 and nueSPL effectively do the same thing (i.e. unlock the phone)
Third: What utility does one use to load up the pre-packaged ROMs?
Fourth: Can I capture my existing OS setup as a backup somehow?
