Hi All
I cannot get my application to create a GPRS connection when it starts. For example when Pocket IE starts it requests a GPRS connection and a new connection is created. I somehow cannot get that programatically using J2ME - java application. I cannot call the connection manager api from within j9.
I was wondering does anyone know of a simple exe programme that I can call which will create a GPRS connection.

You need a program that share a folder on the "server pda", and a program, like resco explore, that explores network folders.
For the adHoc connection, it's simple, just add manually a network name, and check "ad hoc network" for the two pda (naturally try before with an open connection without security)

How to use GPRS-internet on my device while it is connected to the desktop with ActiveSync? It tries to connect only through ActiveSync not using GPRS, but the desktop uses proxy for internet, so for example weather application or mail application can't update their information.

My HTC doesn't look at this setting and tries to connect through activesync, not gprs
Is it possible place a shortcut to a VPN connection in the quicklinks?
It is annoying to navigate through the menus if i need to start the vpn to my corporation.
Would be nice if someone has a solution for that.
If you're using a custom client you can add that as a program in the quick links. Otherwise, the closest I get is through the Internet Sharing program added in the quick links and then tapping: Menu>Connection Settings>Manage existing connections. Is this quick enough for you?
Out of interest, are you using the WM client or have you installed some other vpn client?
